  1. Is it.? Did a great job at Birmingham until they lost the plot & sacked him for a "glamour" name. Millwall always managed to finish above us despite having a lesser squad, imho. To totally rule him out just seems silly - who knows how it work out - but he is available & has experience of doing better at this level than we usually manage to achieve.
  2. Rowett & Smith could be do a decent job here. Doesn't mean they would/will - as with any manager - but to just dismiss either seems a bit silly.
  3. No doubt he was committed & did a decent job, under the restraints given to him & has had a shocking injury crisis to deal with. Seems very strange timing. Hard to think of anyone who will be "better" in the circumstances - unless he's made it clear he won't be staying beyond the end of this season & needed replacing at some point anyway.
  4. I'd love be an architect right now - although doubt they'd check if I told them I were..... "Yes, the best way to redevelop a ground is to knock it down & then apply for planning permission. Don't worry if the there are hold ups in getting approval, because you can just carry on & start building it anyway - there won't be any problems with that...." Oh wait.... someone has already jumped ahead of me on that scam...!
  5. A point re: seating - when he was asked if it would be all seater or mixed & he said "no it will be plenty of standing.... safe standing" As if he didn't actually have a clue that safe standing areas involve seats being in place.
  6. I don't think JB's violent tenancies have ever been limited towards his wife.! Look up his record/history & see attacks on teammates, opposition, fellow managers, members of the public & his wife - those are just the physical abuse charges - he's very well demonstrated his verbal tendencies over the past few weeks.... A lovely "respected friend" for the club to have..!
  7. I'm not sure that he sounded any more aware of anything than any of the previous clowns have been.!
  8. "Joey Barton is a friend of all of us. We have the upmost respect for him & there will always be a seat here for him any time he wants to come" Says it all really - tolerating his violent, abusive, scumbag ways, if he is doing an exceptional job is one thing. Choosing a person like that as your "friend" & being someone you respect, is entirely different & says everything about their level of standards..! My initial thoughts were that he sound like a nice enough, albeit naive guy - but the reality is that his interview couldn't have been anymore full of empty words & unsubstantiated shite if he'd tried..! To add to the above comments about JB, you can add... Manager search - "someone not too experienced - but with experience of promotion from league 1 & possibly higher than that - but young & not experienced"...! Utterly clueless! Stadium - "FM plans are dead. We will redevelop the Mem in 3 phases - starting with the Sounth stand (which doesn't have planning & is almost fully built, as a temporary structure.! I'd like a stadium that has capacity for 18-20k, but it will probably be 16-17k. We will speak to architects & then actually look into doing things properly & maybe even actually apply for planning permission for things from now on..! No idea how we plan to pay for it! We don't have any money, so will need to see what payday loan sharks might fun the project, for a club that looses money & has no idea what our plans actually are. We need to create non match day revenue, but don't know how we will do it, or fit anything that could do into the concourses of a bodge job rebuild that we'd have to get done on the cheap. The whole interview wreaked of no plan, no idea, no money, no clue about how anything works...
  9. By far the most likely outcome. His advisors will have said "just tell the idiots something - they will lap it up, not question a word you are saying & it will buy you a few years, without actually needing to do anything"
  10. Another thing that will be interesting is how they will go about redeveloping the East Side & the Thatchers end. One by one, those sides of the ground will have to be lost for season, which will reduce their capacity by a substantial amount (comparitively). Plus to expand either can only be done by reducing their car park areas, which will further impact the congestion on an already over crowded area on match/event days. I don't think their new owner has really thought it through very much atall - indeed, he didn't even seem to have much idea about how it would be paid for even.! I can fully see the ground remaining in its current sorry state in 10 years time & then they'll probably release more pie in the sky plans for moving to a new site - & that will be sufficient to keep the deluded halfwits content that the club has "ambitious plans" The only style ground that I could see fitting on their site footprint is something like Loftus Loftus Road- you know, the horrible, outdated, not really fit for purpose ground..! Non match day revenue really relies on expansive conference areas - & I can't see how any stand that they could fit onto that site would give adequate provision for facilities like that - let alone the cost of building such facilities, if it were even possible to design. If Ashton Gate cost £50 million to revamp, several years ago - they'd probably need a similar budget to produce half the size & would struggle to fit into the size of the site anyway. It will be interesting to see they come up with & then how accepting the local residents will be.!
  11. With anything like a full strength squad back, I think we'd be well placed to compete for top 6. It's just super frustrating seeing these games slipping by 1 by 1, whilst we are down to such bare bones. Praying that we can still have too much for the bottom 2 over the next couple of games & take at least 4, if not 6 points & then get a few back over the international break. A tough run of games straight after that & we desperately need players back otherwise the season is going to descend into an absolute farce! Going into the season, I thought we looked fairly strong, with 2 players for pretty much every position - but it shows how vulnerable it leaves you with a smaller squad - it's such a hard juggling act.! If everyone was fit, we have good options all over the pitch & would probably be worried about players becoming unhappy..!
  12. Isn't part of their planning application that their new stand is a "Temporary" structure.... yet now they say it is the 1st phase of their ground redevelopment at which they now plan to stay "permanently"...? If it's now a long term plan, surely it's not really fit for purpose & therefore needs different planning & design..? It's a good job this decision has come to light before they have received their planning permission & started to build the thing........ oh, wait.....!
  13. That isn't how you spell "shite"..!
  14. Perfect candidate for next Rovers manager, right there.!
  15. I'm sure he said that today was due to be a record attendance..! Breaking what record exactly..?! They had 8,500 there with just under 600 away fans. I can only assume he just meant they were expecting their biggest gate of the season..? And their knob of an ex player co-commentating actually claimed that the Mem had "one of the best atmospheres in the country"..!
  16. I would think that Gark Monk would be very good appointment for Rovers. I'd be surprised if he'd stoop that low - but who knows how desperate he is..
  17. I'd think that Mehmeti getting any minutes is highly unlikely - let alone getting a starting place. Absolute waste of a squad place whilst NP outright refuses to give him any minutes. He surely has to be a more effective option than Yeboah, at this stage, but just seems so way off getting any game time that it's pointless him even taking up one of the half time orange segments..!
  18. He joined them on 22nd Feb when they sat 19th in League 1. He leaves them in 16th in league 1 (2 points above 19th place). They are in such a better place than when he took over - Joey says so.

    Mehmeti

I reckon I've got more chance of getting minutes in Bristol City league match than Mehmeti has.
  20. Steve Evans is the second biggest piece of shite in football management. And first place goes too.......
  21. The best team in League 1 are giving everyone else a chance, again. Bless them..!
  22. Tried it once & couldn't do it. Annoying but just ended up leaving it & the tickets went to waste. Added their accounts to my profile. Selected transfer tickets. Bit on the allocate ticket page it wouldn't go beyond that & actually let me do it. I did wonder if it was because I was doing it on my phone, so gave the friend my log on details to try on his desktop (I was flying off on holiday) but he couldn't do it on that either.
  23. 0-0 would have been a pretty harsh scoreline, seeing as we scored 1 and they had no shots on target....
  24. League positions mean nothing. They are the best team in the division. End of. Joey says so, so it must be true... If a team who have been docked points end up getting more points than a club that doesn't have a deduction to contend with, doesn't make them any better than Joeys team - in the same way that teams up around the top of the table, with more points, who score more goals & concede less goals... just numbers blah blah blah - none of them are as good as Joeys team..!
  25. No teams are better than them. None of the 16 teams above them in the league table have any rightful claim to be better than Joeys team..!
