FFP cheats? No - what ever the outcome of process it doesn’t affect our spending in this season. It revolves around whether Johnson’s sale to Spurs was part of he 22/23 accounts or this years accounts

The sale was in a separate accounting period to the one you’re being charged over.   There is no ‘whether’ about it.  Hope you get done for it.  Sick of clubs like yours taking the piss and then bleating over it.

So bored of the comms reminding us every other minute that this is bad and we should all be shaking our heads in disapproval. Presumably his producer keeps reminding him

It’s really boring isn’t it. Good god.  A few away fans in the home end and a bit of handbags!!!  What was it Pougatch said ‘a return to the darkest days of our game’.  He obviously doesn’t get about much!!

If need be Rovers could ask people on the uncovered Pop Terrace if they would like to go into the South Stand.
It would show the club cares about fans in addition to helping to increase capacity.

    #gaslogic

Well they are the family club after all so showing their caring side should come naturally to them (only if it helps them of course)

this is not the most important thing we need to fix.

It’s not no, but it needs fixing and sharpish.  We lost a good amount of attacking situations and turned over possession yesterday because if it and it needs addressing.   As said above - you see better options in Sunday league.

Yes. Went to school with lots of Polish kids, (many of whom, as has been said, lived in the St Andrews Zealand Rd Bishopston areas) in the 60s and 70s most of them were Catholic and their parents had come over either during it slightly after WW2.

Never met one I didn’t like.

It’s funny isn’t it.  Like you all Polish people and people of Polish descent (first generation) that I’ve met could not be any nicer and kinder and good people. A bloke at my dads work was especially helpful to him when he fell very ill - literally kindness personified. Likewise I’ve had great bosses (he was even a Gashead!) and colleagues, one of whom have turned into a very good mate.  It’s a part of the make up as to why that vote a while back hurt so much and to me was just nonsensical - but we won’t go there!!!

According to his interview on Radio Bristol pre-match yesterday, he has a house in Clifton!

Really? I know one of the Mails (🤮) main reporters, Rob Draper, lives/lived here as we met him on the train back from the cricket in London one day a few years back.  He may of course have moved on by now.  Was a nice bloke but I was struck how little he knew about us considering he was a football writer living in our city (ha had only just moved down at the time tbf).

It won't be Monday 29th, because the Coventry away game has been moved to Tuesday 30th.

Yep and Forest and ‘pool both have games on that Tuesday also.

All very reasonable questions. All very reasonable concerns, challenges.

    But........over-thinking it??

Six months is a very long time in football. So many if's and but's along the way.

It doesn't feel to me like it's some kind of massive departure from our direction of travel/strategy.

I'm just looking forward to seeing a good player, who'll give us something different, and - even if we don't make 6th (I don't think we will) - may contribute to us ending the season with more confidence about next. And let's see where we, Burnley, Twine, Williams and everyone else is then.

I do get the over thinking challenge and I’m really excited about watching ST play.  I guess I just really really don’t want to ever go back to the ‘boom and bust / Chuck enough crap at the wall days’ that we had to endure the fall out from for the last 3 years and all the challenges that brought.   I want to see a cohesive plan as imo that’s the only way we progress.  Repeat though, very excited to see him in the team and who knows what happens as you say in 6 months time.

Leaving aside the black and white opinion club politics of the signing.

Is Twine a signing that improves the team, yes.

Is Twine a signing that develops the squad, potentially no.

That’s the thing for me now with new signings, it’s not about a shiny new thing, a few more points this season and more ‘feel good’ down the gate factor for a few games - we’ve been trying to do that for years and getting nowhere.

It’s about the strategy and the plan. I don’t quite see where he fits in that yet, with the current info we have around the deal.

Under RG and NP we didn’t have loans for the sake of it and the development of our squad benefitted from that.

If Twine is one of 2 or 3 signings this window that help us push on for 6th, brilliant I absolutely love and welcome that. However if he’s the only 1, IMO he will not be the player that makes the difference.

So, what’s the point? Suppose it depends if you think we still have a chance this season at 6th or not, personally I’m looking at next. Call me Negative Nancy. Let’s see how the rest of the window goes.

Therefore I’m asking the question - how does he fit in the team with regards to development for next season?

Drop Bell or Mehmeti? Or is it Williams or TGH? If LM’s decided Williams doesn’t get a new contract, fine. Harsh maybe but there’s a plan there.

If he plays Twine for 15 plus games (then he leaves us in the summer) having dropped TGH or Bell or Mehmeti, all players who are contracted to play next season, I’d be asking questions.

Does that make me an ungrateful Karen? Well I don’t think so. IMO I’m looking more long term because it’s going to be a long term strategy (one we seemed to be on) that will get us out this division.

We know we can’t buy our way out so we need that long term thinking. There’s a place for a good loan if it’s a “final piece of the jigsaw” type but not one or two Prem loans here and there to maybe finish 10th instead of 14th.

Hallelujah.  Great post.  Put far more eloquently and succinctly than I was trying to do last night!!

Of course hope we win but, seem to be a goalscorer short of a "11 pack" and remain prone to defensive "lapses" make some noise and get at them and we have a chance.

Fair chance it could go to penalties 🫣

Yeah I agree.  I think a draw, hopefully not a bore one.  If we get a performance like we did at their place I’ll be very happy.  Looking forward to it.

You didn't politely ask though, did you?

You started out by falsely implying you'd already asked me, so that shows dishonest intent from the start.

You've also constantly projected your own anger outwards onto me.

I've had no issue with anyone bar 1 person on this thread, and that's because they repeatedly tried to patronise me and intentionally misquoted me.

Technically it was you who made the claim, I said some things that have been said on this forum in a post. It was you who brought up them having to be from 1 poster and so the claim was that there wouldn't be 1 poster with all of those views expressed.

I said I think those views/sentiments by 1 poster "probably" could be found

But as it was your initial assertion and claim, the burden of proof is actually with you- technically speaking.

I'm sure this will upset you greatly, so you'll swear at me again and call me angry.

    Your exact words:

    ’5 mil "too much"

    No signings = no ambition.

Loan signing made, and no obligation to pay 5 mil "what a pointless signing"

There's people on here who want to be upset about everything.’

You made this statement.  Not me.
I simply asked you (no swearing - the ‘again’ was wrong in some ways but referred to me asking someone else who also made this nonsense claim) to prove it and you started getting defensive and arsey, clearly because you cannot prove it.   Why make statements like this in the first place if it’s not true?
Also as pointed out to you your statement above misses a huge swathe of good discussion on the merits of the deal at different levels.    You just enjoy stirring shit up and don’t like it being pointed out to you so resort to the usual retorts that those who can’t back up their arguments do…...I’ll leave it there.

You have the option to go digging through an tell me I'm categorically wrong. You're the one who wants the effort put in after all.

I even (as explained to Silvio already) used the word "probably) because I wasn't stating it as a fact. That's my opinion on the likelihood.

Have a lie down and come back when you've calmed down a bit.

That’s not how it works though is it?  You accuse, you prove.  I’ve told you you won’t be able to so you've chucked the old ‘can’t be ****** - you do it’ bollocks.
I’m completely fine.  You’re the one who is desperately trying to pick fights and don’t like it when people politely ask you to prove your workings.

No, I already told you I'm not going to dig through 50+ pages to find this.

I've said I think it's likely the case, you disagree.

Think you're the angry one here.

Ahhh the old ‘can’t be ****** to back up my bullshit statement so I’ll just reply back  with the same answer’.  Clueless and angry then.  Hope you feel better soon.
