  1. It’s interesting. I played at a decent youth level against teams in Somerset/Avon (as was)/Devon growing up in the early 90s. City never ever scouted our leagues players afaik. I played with and against lads who ended up at Argyle, Rovers, Swindon, Southampton and even Palace youth set ups but never ever City. None of them went on to actually ‘make it’ as a pro but whose to say they didn’t missed out on gems that would’ve at the various age groups. I always wondered at the time why City never even seemed interested in these lads, but seems it’s an ongoing theme that they just didn’t look that far out.
  2. Don’t mind it personally. Get to see more football. Guess that’s the reason also but not sure - more air time = more advertising revenue.
  3. Went there a couple of seasons back when we had a sniff of the playoffs. Was a cracking Saturday night out if you’re staying over. Lovely people and good traditional boozers or more modern places, whatever takes your fancy.
  4. Far too young to remember him with us but the Coventry cup win sticks with me as one of my earliest vivid memories of football and how much ‘cup final day’ meant as a young ‘un! He was great on the recent Jimmy Greaves doc - they were great mates and Greaves came up with his ‘Snoz’ nickname. RIP.
  5. Didn’t know his age was just answering that he played in the Champ not league 1 and it seems I got my questions mixed up apologies! ?. As you were!
  6. And Cisse was also wasn’t he?
  7. I was shocked at that tbh. Potter was rightly livid as it’s a pathetic response for where they are. Football is well and truly broken with instances like this.
  8. Again don’t disagree. But losing today away at Sheff U isn’t going to define our season and whether we stay up or not.
  9. Don’t disagree there’s a lot of players that need moving on. But again we are where we are with the squad at the moment. There’s no quick fix and when we have injuries to key players on top of it all then it just compounds it.
  10. You expect us to dominate games from start to finish in this division given the current circumstances at the club? Figures.
  11. That’s a fair comment CR in some respects but as has been reiterated time and time and time again we are where a lot of us expected us to be this season. We’re not going to be pulling up trees. Staying up, hopefully safely, is the aim and then build from there. This constant slagging is just tiresome as we are where many of us expected us to be this year given the circumstances we find ourselves in. Losing 2/0 to Sheff U away is not a result that should send people into meltdown. Yes it could’ve been better but it is what it is at the moment.
  12. You’ve got an agenda against NP as your per your thread a few weeks ago, so I couldn’t give two Tom tits what you think. Where were you on Wednesday night by the way? Not on here iirc. Amazing that you’ve showed up again today…..
  13. See the doom merchants are back again then after Wednesday! Pathetic
  14. Quite right. Their revisionism has been quite astounding.

    COD

Very very happy to see him improving. Got a lot more performances like tonight to get him back into credit for me but long may these performances continue.
  16. Don’t think it was lucky at all tonight. We played well. Could’ve gone the other way possibly but it was a 50/50. Let’s give ourselves a break when we get it. Doesn’t happen very often!
  17. Yep. Been raised before a few times. Same with the lights within the stands themselves. As a glasses wearer both cause me unnecessary grief in the South Stand but nothing will ever get done. Seems ‘customer’ experience doesn’t count for much in these areas.
  18. Agree. I’ve got to the point now where it feels like it’s just become so stale. The owner seems to have lost interest - at least outwardly - and we barely hear a peep from JL. That’s fine, it’s his ball and he can ultimately do what he wants with it. But I’d be very happy to say thanks for all you’ve done SL, and see where a new owner / part owner takes us. Feels like we need a new journey as stagnating, which it feels like we’ve been doing for years, eventually only leads to decline.
  19. Weirdly they seem to have reverted back to single use at the rugby this season so far. Certainly for single pints not the two pinters. May be a supply issue but you’d be thought they’d have a decent stock of the older ones.
  20. Who randomly was the boss of my Dad’s cousin. She was his secretary at the BBC for a while.
  21. Very much off topic but I love a new (to me) word. Thank you. As you were….
  22. Same old on this thread. All those populists who believe in ‘freedom’ and ‘choice’ up in arms about a bloke choosing to wear something in a fashion mag. Hilarious.
  23. With no offence meant to the originators of today’s rumours - but sources, however good, are not always reliable as today has very amply proved. It’s a nice story and no doubt there is interest out there, but there is a massive difference between parties showing an interest and them actually putting pen to paper and investing / buying out. I’d be amazed to see anything happen in 12/24 months. Longer term yes, no doubt.

I was quite surprised at that. If we are looking then I really hope we have a recruitment team sorted, especially if NP is out for any length of time. Disappointed that this wasn’t asked as opposed to the style of play questions.
