  1. Ah the article I read didn’t actually say what the money was for so I stupidly assumed some of it would go on what’s actually needed! What an absolute piss take. So disappointing and unnecessary as you say. Who actually makes these decisions. And why is it our region they always seems to get it so so so wrong when it comes to transport.
  2. It’s a bit old and tired now, but how many incredible acts have Cardiff had over the years that we as a city have missed out on, couple that with all the extra revenue that brings to the city? Madness we have never had anything to compete. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnett_formula
  3. Likewise I’m very much predisposed to vote for him but as @Dr Ballshas articulately put above Marvin is a complete and utter *hit show and very lucky to be voted in again. Red Trousers has his faults but at least he got stuff done as you say. In related news Sunak will announce £540m funding for transport in the West of England at the budget so hopefully some of that will help progress to continue on the Metro https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/oct/23/english-cities-transport-budget-greater-manchester-west-midlands?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  4. If only we had a government who believed in and actually implemented ‘levelling up’ ?. On a serious note though, everything about Bristol politics has always been far far too passive - no one, regardless of party colour, ever fights our corner. Far more interested in batting things down rather than making positive improvements and as we seem a passive lot down here as well nothing ever gets done about it. Really hope the proposed rail improvements are not the latest example.
  5. Oh I completely agree about the infrastructure. It’s an absolute disgrace. Transport, sporting facilities, arena, a complete lack of joined up thinking across the board. It’s a joke. Yet thousands of people want to move here every year and it consistently gets voted ‘best place to live’ and the economy thrives - hence my ‘successful’ comment. Successive Politicians and councils can rest easy on their laurels knowing it as well.
  6. Amazing the money that’s spent in Cardiff. I went to Uni there in the late 90s and the transformation these days is ridiculous in comparison to the money spent here over the same period. We’ve always been a city that’s successful despite the council though - whoever’s in charge.
  7. Cheers. I’ll take no news as good news then! Really hope it all gets the green light and soon. Needed so much across the city.
  8. May as well copy this answer as it’s going to need to be used time and time again. People just don’t or don’t want to get what this season is about unfortunately.
  9. I haven’t got any of my muckers on here, they’ve all got more sense! So literally no idea what or who youre talking about.
  10. I do find it hilarious, this new trend from a few on here implying that anyone with a non right-wing, über populist view on life is a ‘leftie’ who gangs up / wades in on people that hold those views if they dare ever comment against them. Sad.
  11. We’re 5 pts off 6th. 7 pts off 22nd. Not exactly ‘sinking’. Just mid table where the vast majority of people thought we would be and where most people would be happy with this season given the context of all that’s gone on.
  12. Excuse my ignorance Tom but has there been any update on Henbury line at all? Can’t see anything online other than they expect the Ashley Down station (one I’m particularly interested in) to open 2023? Does Phase 1 being pushed back affect Phase 2? Presume it does?
  13. @Davefevs answered this far more accurately than I could just the other day: Lee spent £59m on transfer fees alone in 8 Windows (and one emergency loan period), let alone loan fees, agent fees, signing on fees, and wage bill increase. He brought in really good fees for a small number of players. In fairness he did have to build the squad up a bit as Cotts was running it on a shoestring. The wage bill went up every season. The lowest season spend was £9.7m! Nige is working under a new remit, already cut costs by £10-12m. Why do you and others just not get the difference? Crazy.
  14. And had a shit load of money to replace them with, which apart from Webster he and Ashton screwed up. Hence the absolute mess we are now in - just about being able to scrape the pennies from down the back of the sofa to buy a fullback from Carlisle for £350k. It’s not comparing like for like or anywhere near it.
  15. I’d imagine whoever it is is perfectly clear about his views tonight. Or would you rather he hung players out to dry in public individually?
  16. We are all narced about the home record but it will come. We have fighting spirit otherwise we wouldn’t have won at Peterborough, Cardiff and QPR. We are just a bit ****** players wise at the moment. This season was always going to suck a bit as a result. But we have people in charge who know what they are doing and I have confidence that given time they will build a decent team. Meanwhile as long as we remain away from the relegation zone this season I don’t care whether the points come at home or away. But a home win would be very nice and I reckon itll come v Barnsley.
  17. But my point was in response to someone saying we don’t have any fight or resolve. So I didn’t get what you were referring to?
  18. So you would rather be bottom 3 but have a win at home? Ok fella.
  19. And we’re not anywhere near the bottom 3? Don’t understand the point?
  20. Cardiff? Peterborough? QPR? Plenty of fight there. We’re mid table with no money to spend. Don’t understand what people expect this season.
