A slow shit wicket. Imagine my shock.
Will be interesting to see how our bowlers cope, I wouldn't be surprised to see Abell bowling a few.

The ongoing accounts saga has a new development today, the Filton Avenue Guarantee Company (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06912935) one of Waels six companies with overdue accounts is now in the process of being struck off.
That means that they failed to deliver accounts at the end of February and then ignored two warning letters from companies house.
In practice not a big issue, they probably no longer want that company anyway as I imagine it was intended for the sale of the Mem while they move to UWE. This way they can let the company be wound up without needing to do any paperwork, but it is pretty bad form.

“ACCOUNTS???!! What accounts? If I just ignore them will they just go away?”
First warning letter should've arrived from Companies House by now. If they carry on ignoring those then the company could be struck off by early August.

Accounts now flagged as overdue at Companies House so they weren't in the quarter end backlog which was the simplest explanation.
It is interesting, can't help but wonder if the auditors are having issues over the 'going concern' statement.

Companies House just not uploading them yet after the quarter end rush. They're not marked as overdue yet despite the filing date having passed.
They are still processing paper accounts that were submitted last Friday at the moment http://resources.companieshouse.gov.uk/dashboard/paper-processing-dates.shtml
As you say not marked as overdue so it seems most likely they are just in the backlog.

I can't help thinking a tie would be a fitting end to such an absurd game

Regarding the timing of the tea interval.
Lancashire had 47 overs today, 2 overs for the change of innings, then Somerset batted 18. That makes 67 overs.
Surely there were only 29 left in the day when they took tea?
-
Gregory still playing T20 style by the looks of it, probably out by the end of this over

That whole end only holds about 1200 so there are 400 there tops - plus 5000 in the home end and 2500 in the executive boxes of course.
How many were locked out?

Need a wicket before lunch. Badly.
Was feeling pretty pessimistic at lunch, things have picked up a bit now though!

Ryan Patel is bowling rather well isn't he?

Nope going to be holding on for a draw at this rate. I predict all out for 130
Yeah, with a run chase now at more than 3 an over I can see that creating enough pressure to ensure our batsmen panic in the usual Somerset fashion.

Not looking promising is it?

Amla finally gone thank goodness, at least two more required before lunch though I think
-
Really hope the new ball can help as this doesn't look promising

Leach hit on the thumb this morning and gone off for a scan. Not helpful.

Looks like we can conspire to mess this up though

Not convinced Frank actually made contact with their guy

Would they be allowed given a teams survival would be at stake?
I'm sure it would be within the rules. I doubt they'll get to the final hour still only 4 down and even then Warks probably wouldn't agree to it. But it would make me laugh.

Impressive batting by Vince & Dawson for Hampshire. If they can carry on for an hour after tea will the shake hands for the draw?

They also weren’t bowling at the time
Yeah I know, even if they'd declared at the exact time the game ended there would've been 1 hour 15 minutes to get in something like 30 overs (according to my quick back of an envelope calculations).
I've no sympathy at all if they go down and start complaining again about that particular deduction.

Commentators still going on about the pitch and Middlesex slow over rate points deduction...
I'm pretty fed up of the whole slow over rate thing. Middlesex can hardly complain when it took the best part of 7 hours to bowl 88 overs in the Surrey innings, it could easily have rained in the final day and they'd have still got the points deduction.
Also I'm not convinced they had time to make it all up even if they wanted to in that game. I think they'd have still been one over down on the rate.

Compton gone! Big wicket that.
