  1. Merry Christmas from Milwaukee (more or less. Lake Geneva if you know the area) and hopefully a bright new year!
  2. Owers was excellent. Tells it like it is, has an opinion and is clearly a supporter. I also think in his various roles he has some clue as to what is going on internally, including dad to one of our payers. The biggest point he made from my perspective was ‘are Scott and Benerous even going to be here after the transfer window’ It is clear they are saleable assets to a club like ours that now needs to sell more than ever into a very poor market to cover costs. Also the comments about these two being ahead of Massengo who maybe 20 but has over 70 games under his belt and as such is an experienced player has resonance to me at least. I hope we don’t have to sell any of them but my head tells me we will if a decent deal (whatever that is these days) can be done. Outiside of this how many saleable assets do we have? Possibly Bentley and Kalas? Ipswich watch out
  3. I agree. But unloading is a function of a willing buyer and a willing seller. With the wage some are earning, which clearly won’t be matched, why would they leave unless they are desperate to play, which I think might be the case with Wells! That leaves loans and again that is a function of who wants whoever that may be available. This will likely mean even if there are clubs that want our players City will likely be left paying some of the wage. Couple this with the almost certainty that the players have no transfer value no matter what, you can begin to see the pickle the club (Pearson) is in. Utter mess from where I am. Have you got anyone in mind to loan in? From my perspective we need a ball winning central midfielder. And in view of Baker, Cundy being out and The boy from Oxford coming back from illness a center half. And a forward particularly if Wells goes.
  4. Yes agree to disagree. I’m hoping Massengo gets picked up by a bigger club sooner rather than later as we need the money and he’ll get those better players you think he needs. Saying he plays what’s available is not snide it’s a fact. Pretty much the only player that has been uninjured and available this season is Martin, so I don’t think it’s a stretch he’s playing every week, however I would play Wells for a couple of games. Nevertheless if the rumors are true that Wells is out of the door in January as there have been enquirers then I expect his ass to stay firmly on the bench as will Disilva’s I guess. Yes Pearson made a big thing about not bringing in loans particularly if he can bring through from our own academy, but with Williams King Cundy Baker and odowda all still no shows/season long/career ending injuries I reckon it’s inevitable.
  5. An insane wage even if he were playing.
  6. Your first comment I don’t know where else Simpson has worked out or not worked out. Please text call email Nigel Pearson. However it’s clear he hasn’t worked out on the pitch. Massengo is a stop gap that we use in stead of Williams or King or James. He is not that good but we are forced to play him, particularly as Bakinson is so languid. The last ten months have been spent dumping the dross signed by the previous regime supported by Steve Lansdown and his son. He picks what he’s got available to build a side for the future while putting them alongside more seasoned professionals to bring them along. Coehisive defensive formation would typically be depending on players being fit. Not a lot of luxury there. What he’s trying to do is pick around what he has available. Which he does and bring in youngsters trying to adapt them into different roles for the future. If I were to give him a mid term report I’d say he’s got no money, high wages, possible future FFP issues, players that have wanted away since Holden took over and has been left to answer for the bullshit of Ashton a myriad of Lansdown’s, LJ and to a lesser extent Holden. While trying to build a team or a squad out of our own academy and a couple of lower league buys. That is where we are and no amount of frustration changes that!
  7. Yes Simpson hasn’t worked out on the pitch. However the simple truth is we have to get the Ashton/Johnson left overs off the books somehow at least partially. That’s a given. Palmer and Desilva are just a waste of a wage and so is Wells if he never gets more than 15 minutes. Also don’t forget The rest of them that have not been resigned since the summer. Can you imagine Weimann and Baker thinking that FFS EVERYONE earns more than we do. The bloody club is a total mess. Massengo is simply not very good. I know that’s an unpopular view but every time I see his name my guts roll over. As was said in the interview The boy is lost and simply doesn’t track properly. But that’s what we have right now and the hope he might get better. At least he got a shot off on Saturday. Vyner gets abused on here that I think is substantially undeserved but either way he must be on a bloody fortune compared to most of us. The lists go on and on. We are not very good due to pouring money down the toilet on transfers and wages on the whim of the bloke paying the bills assisted by the dynamic DNA duo and the money has dried up! The only thing that I feel has resonance is the constant playing of Martin. Unlike many on here I think he puts in a shift, but we are one dimensional! If I were a manager I would say to my players…..We press there center backs and two central midfielders eventually they will pass back to the keeper because they don’t trust each other or are not very good and wait for the punt upfield! That’s exactly what Luton will do on Saturday! But that’s what we have right now. Maybe we have a transfer or two up our sleeve IHOPE!
  8. Ian Wright told him to go to Leeds is public record. But if there was something else that concerned Ashton I would love to know!
  9. Not being pedantic or getting in the middle of whatever punch up your having with anyone. BUT the thread was about Lee Johnson’s man management. For the record Gary is a top bloke still got a picture of him and my old man 11years ago before he passed away. Lee I’m sure is a lovely guy. But some of the questions about his man management stem from comments from his former players.
  10. I would give you more than the one laughing face if I could! So bloody sad that the best gags are based in truth!
  11. Yeah-Im sure that there is one as it was on here for a while and dozens listened to it! Can anyone help out Rees-Mogg. I think it was one of the City podcasts!
  12. To be frank Im not sure Lee knew what he wanted! Wells soon ended up on the bench for the 6m! But yeah we agree to lament the fact Johnson was showered with wedge. Wilbo made a comment that SC regrets he never got the benefit of funds that LJ did!
  13. Exactly. It’s very city. So who is the whipping boy! Martin puts in a shift. It maybe an unexciting one but that’s what he is told to do. Yes they may well have been, but he still scored 44 goals in 143 appearances for them very close to 1 in 3 if I am reading his stats right!? At Rangers his second stint was 1 in 2. So I guess lies damned lies and statistics, which I assume is why Lansdown Ashton and LJ punted six million on him. If only Pearson or Cotterill had that sort of money to burn.
  14. I think you both have points and it’s pretty obvious Pearson agrees somewhat as he doesn’t get a game unless he’s coming off the bench. As I said somewhere yesterday Wells would be worth less than the zero he’s already worth injured so best place for him until January. I am slightly concerned about ‘our style’ as we are very predictable (less so since Semenyo returned but still predictable) so the word style gives me the feeling teams work us out quickly. Yes I have thought many times that Wells regrets coming here. However he was LJs signing and I can’t imagine LJ sold him anything that would have made him imagine we would be floundering around with a team that can’t pass out to eventually pass back to the keeper to hump up to a big man, while in a relegation battle! I wonder if Sunderland are interested?!
  15. REDOXO

    Semenyo

I thought he played well too. We just seemed to lack the ability to get him in, but the improvement is huge!
  16. Oh yes I can. Have you been giving out abuse Rich? And I rest my case Your Honour! Or have I just been wooshed!!
  17. Yes. It’s a societal issue. Keyboard warriors are everywhere () and this is an extension of that, I can goad you and you can’t do anything mindset.
  18. It wasn’t meant to say either. But for the record I wouldn’t change the manager. Well we will agree to disagree about the farce that was 13 players out of contract multimillion pound overspend on players fees and wages. The fact that we have valueless assets on huge wages, that needs to be paired back while having limited ability to spend as we can’t generate any money. Thus in order to make us sustainable we have to blood youngsters and prey we can off load some high earners! I don’t like the fact Wells never gets a chance to start but as was pointed out on another thread that’s probably because he has less than zero value if he’s injured. DeSilva came here and was out for ages with shin splints and has never regained any semblance of his former self. Williams is theoretically our best player that has been crocked since his arrival or before This club staggers from farce to farce and has done since SL so spectacularly failed to back Steve Cotterill when we were promoted then threw money at Lee Johnson via Mark Ashton who jumped ship as Pearson was arriving thus leaving him to carry the can for the continuing comedy. Hardly anyone else at the club say s a bloody word and our chairman sits with his hand on his Dick on yacht somewhere off the coast of a Caribbean island So yes from where I am sitting Pearson inherited a shit show of mega proportions that was years in the making and continues to give. As I said Sir Alf would struggle right now but what we hope is we can keep enough of it going to make a mid table finish and have Half dozen players with previously only league one/two/u23 experience a part of a cohesive squad for next season without spending any money that could give us FFP issues.
  19. Yes. Exactly. I tweeted to Twentyman the best bit of the match was the comedy refereeing. Totally inept. My god we have all forgotten abou the Peno. Vyner didn’t touch him. At that point the tone was set. Terrible terrible officiating, but there it is. What else do we expect!
  20. Oh stop it. You and your facts getting in the way. However we were awful for a long period in the middle to go all hung ho at the end to try and salvage a point I guess statistics only convey a partial message after all Just for giggles how many shots did we have after we were three down?
  21. Exactly what I saw. To be fair Pearson said pretty much that. So at least that’s three of us!
  22. Yes the playing side does come down to that when all said and done. For my own tuppence I have always held SL in high regard for what he’s physically built in S Bristol. But LJ and Ashton are on him. The profligacy of the two men with SLs money is what we are all paying for now. The silver lining is we are seeing our own lads come through, whether supporters like it or not it will take time to build from here!
  23. Spot on! It is effing tough though isn’t it!
