  1. Hard here sometimes isn’t it!
  2. Fight harder. Your corner is your corner. I agree life is not fair and Bristol still has under privileged circumstances in some places but no one is offering anything without application and a fight. A properly devolved government for the region is what I would be advocating. It’s worked ok Scotland and Wales, NI gets what it wants regardless of who is killing whom!
  3. It depends what the question is. If do we have a player that has out paced every full back he’s played against then the answer is yes. His blatant grounding yesterday was an utter disgrace right in front of the ref. If the question is can he be developed into a great player and his timing and crossing worked on the answer is still yes If the question is, is he under 20 (I think he is still 19) the answer is yes If the worry for Sam is getting his homework in on time I would say no, he always gets subbed off after 60 minutes!
  4. As I said on this or another thread, the money which is divied out to a myriad of causes across the UK that the average bloke knows nothing and cares not to know of is quite literally biliions and billions. Wrexham FC had the moxy to apply and make a case that the money would be spent on National (Welsh) good as well as local and made their case covertly on National TV. Oldest International Stadium in the World has been said over a dozen times, the message was sent loud and clear.
  5. When you have a devolved country/government the drive to do things for your country/communities is strong, particularly as the English are paying. The issue is the English will mumble and grumble but won’t stand up and say ‘what about us’. Bristol City council maybe good maybe bad, it depends who you talk to, but their remit is to small and Bristol isn’t considered to be the under privileged dump (riot fest) it was when I was young, in part to SL!
  6. I am still hugely disappointed that Ashton Vale was kaiboshed. The blank sleight that would allowed for from a myriad of perspectives would have been so much better. The idea Bristol Sport now have to shrink wrap Stuff around the space available plus a stand that is clearly out of keeping with the rest of the ground gets on my wick and I’m sure it did SLs. There is another current thread about unfair subsidies being appropriated by Wrexham. In Wrexham case they are rightly wanting to stage international games in possibly multiple sports and thus can gain a subsidy from the Welsh/national government. Ashton Vale could have had substantial benefit and may well have gotten a subsidy for similar reasons for the West of England. I asked in the other thread did Bristol Sport gain any subsidy for the redevelopment of the Gate. I am interested to know!? I on the other hand am shocked at the amount of Government subsidies that are available for a multitude of things and the ease at which the money is eventually written off over a period. It is a bit nuts! Yes opponents like it. That’s been a given for a long time now! ?
  7. I think you nailed it there. The two American lads (Lowe/Mcillheny) have really pushed the Oldest International Stadium in the world thing a lot on the Wrexham show. The grant is almost certainly in view of some Welsh Internationals in more than one sport and gender. If we had Ashton Vale we may have been able to get similar grants too, particularly as there was talk of it at the time. Did City get any grants for the AG refurbishment? If not someone missed a trick.
  8. It was a Rugby tackle on Bell. It was a red card event and the referee bottled it. The only discussion is was it in or out of the penalty area. In my opinion the foul started outside the box and continued into it….. However as Pearson says, we don’t get penalty’s and it’s pointless constantly pointing out, but this was worse, a clear opportunity denied by a player hurling himself at the player who got behind him showing the defender a clean pair of heels.
  9. Exactly. I’m as pissed off about the last few days as the next girl, but we are yet again lurching to the end of a season with a big sick list. Our u21s will be massively important in the summer. I read some stuff and think most on here didn’t give ConwAy or Bell a second thought in July. The season before was Scott and Benerous. Nevertheless we need to have a more physical presence that’s for sure!
  10. We are pretty but almost always eventually go long after a lot of tip tap. The issue is our longer balls tonight in particular were short or wayward. However we are not far off. We have to sort out our CBs have a ball winner or two in the middle and improve our shooting all over the pitch.
  11. Does Pearson want another contract? Anyone asked him? If he is open to a two year extension on the one he has left then I expect conversations, even if they were only in the tea room have already started Despite the few who were screaming for his dismissal a while back waiting to pounce again with the slightest excuse, I would say this guy has turned us around from a basket case club to a team that’s only a goal scoring midfielder and a CB that has not got a sick note stamped on his track suit away from being top six material…Which was he’s remit. I fully expect us to be in and around the top six next season as does the manager, the players and the board. Just thinking back at the dross, hangers on and down right wasters he inherited (did anyone go onto do anything when their contracts expired) Then look at the change in Vyner the bringing through of Scott Bell ConwAy Benerous the purchases of Atkinson Naismith et al, to me Pearson has changed the culture of a weak, limp club that makes awful decisions repeatedly to a club that is only a couple of signings away from being a force. If he’s open to an extension then negotiate it now and get it done would be my position
  12. Love Colin. He mentions us all the time. I would like to know how many times he applied! Managers I’m glad we never had include McIness Lee Johnson Tiny Penis & Roy Hodgson Oh wait a minute!
  13. Max is a good goalkeeper! I agree with anyone who says we/he needs real competition. They are spot on. However part of the issue is, as today and away at PNE for example, that we haven’t been good enough or quick enough to close down a shooter from outside the box. An issue OLeary himself points out almost every game. Having Kalas and Atkinson out doesn’t help, but we are not great at blocking with them playing as well and to be fair it’s not just the job of Center Backs to get in front of the bloke lining one up!
  14. I guess it will depend how early they know they are safe. (If that’s the case) I also guess we are going to see one way or another.
  15. My mates are Rangers season ticket holders. They wanted me to come to an end of season Beano. Now not so much. I may still go, but if they need something I will be the one City fan not wanting to!!
  16. If there is a chance we could relegate them we will sell out a thousand no problem!
  17. Gerry Gow was the hardest player Bobby Gould ever played with!
