That's fair enough but if we make a step improvement next season will you give him credit for his role in appointing Manning? People are judging far too early.

I will . But absolute minimum next season is we have to be in contention for top 6 at this point of the season

I’ve seen nothing to suggest we will though. We have gone down the same failed route as we did with Lee Johnson - I fail to understand why people think it will work this time when it didn’t work before

In fact - I’d say Tinnion is a step down from Mark Ashton and Manning is less experienced then LJ - so our structure is weaker then before

The cold hard reality is we have employed a manager whose league form since he has taken over has been relegation form and we have employed a technical director who admits we have employed a rookie

As a fan of a club who has seen our owners make plenty of ridiculous mistakes down the years …..I still can’t believe how much they have ****** this one up

I gave my season ticket up last year after 13 on the bounce and I can say for a fact that it's been a weight off my shoulders.

I drink less, my heads in a better place, I'm genuinely happier and it's so easy to watch City from home it's almost pointless going to the ground anymore.

Yes I miss the limbs, the banter, but actually I haven't rated the atmosphere at the club for a long time and actually a lot of it is just East End nostalgia that no longer exists.

It's hard to let go, I understand, and a lot of people renew out of habit but my advice is vote with your feet guys, demand better.

That’s where I am at now. Season ticket holder for 29 years - have often threatened to cancel but it’s hard to let go when you have done something for so long. It’s something I’ve always continued for the sake of my dad as it’s something we have always done together .

Ive not been to a game for a while now though and have not missed it at all

It's an incredibly strange choice of image.

7 people in the photo, only one of which is a current first team player. Is it normal to have a big picture of the club's technical director on such a post?

Surely the club know that Tinnion and Manning are relatively unpopular figures within the fanbase right now, so why make them so prominent in the advert? We seem to have used this as an opportunity to double-down on a couple of unpopular appointments.

    Very odd.

That’s the arrogance of the club at the minute. As I said before, they look at us as a nuisance

The ego on Tinnion to allow his mug on there. Could you imagine the laugh we would have if Mark Ashton was on the Ipswich photo

I’m irritated that we’ve seemingly ripped up a long term model for a short term whim.  Others above have put it far better in that regard.

We haven’t. That’s the thing - the short term whim was what we just witnessed under Pearson

All they have done is returned to the model that failed previously

I am not even sure where you start with an interview like that, but I have a good idea of where you end.

There is a very evident, and growing divide between the club and the fanbase. Any possibility of success will be driven by a unity of purpose and belief. But here we are with a club led by people who continually lie, and also seemingly have confused politics with sport. The lobbying, random posing on forums, offline briefing of local media and interviews like this demonstrate that they think you can detach the evidence and underlying mood with empty words. As if by saying something continually, it will become true, despite all of the evidence pointing in a different direction.

The club has created one of the most astonishing masterclasses in self-destruction. They have indeed lost the fan base, primarily because of the lack of transparency and continued lies. That destroys trust. But worse than that, there is no real anger. It is even more catastrophic, apathy prevails. The reason for that is possibly because people know there is nothing that can be done. The club is priced out of new ownership, and as such, we are currently hostages to the owner's whim. This is a real shame, because the owner most certainly would want what any fan would want, but over 2 decades the continued lack of any semblance of a strategy, changes in direction, and continued reluctance to employ competent people means we are now looking at regression.

So here we are, we now have to watch the soap opera of Tinnion, Manning and Jon L play out until the cost of relegation becomes a real reality again. But we have been here on so many occasions.

The club is crying out for high quality professional leadership. It is now getting embarrassing for the owner.

    Brilliant post

“I’ve earned the right to be where I am after 30 years at the club”

That proves what a joke it is

Asda could have someone stocking the shelves brilliantly for 30 years - doesn’t mean they should be put in charge of the whole store

The person I meet at the ground is done, confirmed it yesterday and buggered off literally five minutes after half time he was that pissed off with it!! I do fear, for the first time in years where we have had had empty threats, that people will follow through with their threats not to renew on this occasion.

I think a fair few will. Every season we have heard the same bullshit from the club - but this time feels very different

At least when Richard Gould or someone like that spoke, it came with credibility. Now you got a technical director who is clearly so far out out of his depth it’s embarrassing

The coming off of Twitter and then going back on. Comments like “see you in the Prem” - completely amateur. No way he can lead this club forward

Whats done it for me is the Lee Johnson template didn’t work. In fact, it absolutely crashed and they just had to bite the bullet the last 2.5 years or so trying to fix it

Just when there is light at the end of the tunnel - and the club is in a prime position to attract a decent, Championship coach / manager - what do they do? They go and do exactly the same thing . *****

    I believe the saying goes

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”

The arrogance from Tinnion especially, talking about “everyone was happy after the Southampton game” - just shows how out of touch and shut off these plebs really are

... rumoured interest from Turf Moor too

Conway? Clearly hasn’t been right since his mate left. The big signing on fee and increase in wages for Scott has probally got him thinking “I want a piece of that”

Difference is Conway is no where near as ready as Scott was

Can see him moving to a top end Championship club in the summer

but how dare they give a bit back!!!!!

God we have some precious fans

I’ve got no problems with a player giving it back. Glad to see a bit of emotion from one of them
