  1. Brill, I shall rush home from football and virtually nip across the channel
  2. In fairness, the fans don’t have to step out on a pitch and perform at an elite level. Take the environment aspect out of it, flying can make sense for performance. Same reason teams stay over night before games etc. Long travel can be detrimental to performance what irks me from an environment perspective is usually when clubs fly, someone still drives the coach up too to transfer them. I think it’s more likely to be confidence / United. They’ve ruined several players, just look at the Sancho situation.
  3. I’ve seen this game won’t be available on Robins TV? Is that just UK viewers or not shown at all?
  4. Not sure we can win and get a negative goal difference… we’ll be 8th, if we win by 2 it’ll be 7th
  5. Perhaps it's not trendy but people are more comfortable about talking about their issues and don't see it as negatively as many used to? That's not necessarily a bad thing. I was about to reply to your first comment above suggesting it came across as ignorant towards how hard it actually is to get a diagnosis. I was then going to revoke the ignorant comment as it's clear you do realise how hard it is to get a diagnosis, then I read your last line. There are not "big numbers" that identify as a cat FFS
  6. Seen quite a bit of it recently, at Millwall there was one particular lad and what I assume was his dad continuously V signing and other gestures at the away fans all game and even stayed after the game to carry on. Lad must have been about 10-12 no older. Similarly at the Ipswich home game in Dolman block next to away fans there was a young lad who spent half the game shouting, swearing and what not towards away fans and each time looking back at his dad for approval. I feel sorry for these kids, they’ve been let down by shit parenting, but it’d also not new - I remember at school when we started going at that age there was a group from our year who where Swindon fans and just went to try and scrap every week.
  7. You can’t give results based on perceived deservedness
  8. I think this is where it’s frustrating, if you need 5 minutes to review it then it probably wasn’t a clear and obvious error. Been lots of examples lately of weird decisions though - for and against England last week (Kane “dive”, Maguire foul was a pen and the handball wasn’t IMO) I don’t think it’s working in its current state and it’s an awful experience for a fan in the ground
  9. I’m in and around that area too. There’s also a guy I’ve seen I think Chatteris way when I’ve played there, seen a bloke and young lad (possibly his son) on separate occasions wearing a city shirt. Always takes me by surprise that far from home!
  10. Nah no sympathy for Leicester, they cheated their way out of the Championship
  11. “Recent” record means nothing, especially when you’re going back 10-15 years
  12. Blue? New Year’s Eve, or possible the day before maybe if I recall? They’d gone the calendar year unbeaten at home to that point
  13. From my experience, introductions of sin bins haven't really dettered people from dissent - as someone else said there were already punishments available for referees to handle dissent, I still just see that same that some do and some dont. Also, a sin bin doesn't go through as a fine like a yellow (or red) does. It's about £16 now for a yellow card which is much more of a detterant to most I play with than 10 minutes off the pitch. And you can be on a yellow and get sin binned, it doesn't lead to a red - and vice versa you can pick up a yellow after returning - so almost gives you an extra offence before a red
  14. Agreed, we have them at our level and it's just another inconsistency that gets frustrating No idea, never seen a sin bin for it at our level
  15. Yea it’s not quite as Caulker has put it from what I’ve read. It wasn’t TV it was an online platform and solely sponsored by bet365.
  16. I had a Beckham shirt on But, if there's 2 things I f****** hate it's paper aeroplanes and mexican waves I think at the moment front 4 picks itself, although Saka's having a downturn in form recently I'm sure he'll come back. We could do with a better left back option materialising. Rico Lewis perhaps. Trippier does a job for now, but isn't the ideal answer. Still not sure about Trent in midfield, he's got a good range of passing but a bit of a luxury player off the ball. Maddison is an option. Centre Back is the interesting one. Big 4 months for someone to stamp their place on that position, Colwill perhaps like you say. It's still Maguire for me at this moment in time
  17. Nice one cheers, I'll keep trying. I've got 16 so some way off that, but there's been a couple of games early on someone else got the tickets and I stupidly didn't claim the caps
  18. How are you guys getting tickets? How many caps do you have? Ive been unsuccessful in every ballot so far
  19. I’ve been to almost every home game for the last few years now and that’s probably the worst performance since Hungary battered us at Wolves. I’ll caveat it by saying, dead game, already qualified and got the win. That’s all that really matters. No team plays brilliant every game, even Man City have bad games and get wins - I feel the criticism is harsher when England do it, maybe because the games are less regular? All that said, I think Southgate got loads wrong tonight. Tomori at left back seems bizarre. He’s never played there and he’s right footed - at least put him RB and trippier LB if that’s the experiment you want to do. Henderson doesn’t need to be there any more. I don’t think JWP is good enough, but for this game it’d have been worth trying him. Why play rashford when he’s so out of form? Could have started Palmer. It was a very well drilled Malta side to be fair, and it was only when the likes of Saka, Rice and Palmer came on that we started to pull them apart a bit. No panic though, a full strength side would have demolished them. Watching that and saying we’ve no chance at the World Cup (what about the Euros first?) is just silly.
  20. When I first watched the footage my reaction was why was his foot so high. Since then, some people have said he was initially tripped by a 3rd player and that wasn't clear in the video I saw. I think at worst he's probably tried to hit him, but I highly doubt he's intended the sort of harm that's come from it. I've been on the receiving end of one of those challenges on the football pitch, took a kick to the head that on another day could have killed me but luckily "only" broke several bones in my face. It was someone I'd known from school and we'd had previous (ironically we spoke before the game as we were both captains and joked about keeping it friendly this time ). Speaking to people afterwards they nearly all felt he meant it, or at least could have pulled out and didn't. I'm not sure I'd have been comfortable with him being charged with anything, but something needs to be done about these "let them know you're there" type challenges. Get it wrong and they have serious consequences.
  21. I stopped reading at "has never played in midfield" He's played in midfield for us, let alone for previous clubs, and looked good there. I'm a big fan of Naismith and he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet, in either defence or midfield. I think the main calls for midfield are because we have more options at the back with Atkinson, Vyner, Dickie and we're struggling with incisive, forward passing in the middle since Scott left.
  22. Really depends on the TV, I use the smarters app on my LG and hardware the TV for better quality than WiFi
  23. I meant taking an English born lad who was only elligble by a grandparent (i think) but your right he did go through their system
  24. If anything Ireland attempted to steal him by giving him a call up first?
  25. Was thinking exactly the same, I'd absolutely represent my grandmother's country. England would be my first choice though
