Time wasting, there’s no X second rule anymore though as far as I’m aware it’s referees discretion I think. Happy to be proved wrong on that. I didn’t believe it at first but I haven’t seen it done anywhere near as much this season.
-
Now do that for 92 teams ensuring too many games aren’t in the same city on the same day etc.
-
They’d be better off staying Wednesday night and travelling to Burnley Thursday/Friday and train locally

Can I ask an off-topic question? Has there been a crackdown or rule change this season to prevent keepers time wasting by falling to their knees when they catch a ball (example below) I played a game in goal a couple of weeks ago and did this and got warned by the ref it’s being clamped down and now a bookable offence but can’t see it in the law changes? Ive been looking out for keepers doing it and must admit I didn’t see Bentley do it once against Blackpool or Wycombe Below video is a clip of Alison doing it last season against Everton after Pickford did it in the first half.

It felt to me that he just answered the question back to him without really thinking. The question was something like the players are here until January, at least. I wouldn’t read too much into it to be honest, if we’re flying come January I can’t see players wanting to leave
-
Yep every goal is reviewed and a certain period of time in the build up is watched back, they are in the ear to the ref to tel him whether they are checking or not so he knows not to continue. Obviously most goals tend to be clear cut so isn’t noticed or mentioned
-
Heard about this, what’s the actual offence? I’ve seen players leave the pitch to go to the toilet and play carried on, I guess it’s difficult for a keeper to do that
-
I since edited, fair some people probably don’t kee up with rule changes but it’s been changed for some time now. Played a game yesterday and someone actually asked the ref if they could be offside from a goal kick ?
-
Theres a reason no ones done it, you’d get out numbered somewhere else on the pitch
-
Why would that matter? edit: seen further replies, as said you’re only offside when you receive the ball. Doesn’t matter if you’re offside in the first “phase” but not involved - it’s only when the balls played to the attacker / they receive it.
-
They’ve always checked every goal

I know many a player released from Southampton, often for being too small that have gone on to be decent, Tyrone Mings for one
-
Sorry removed it, I didn’t know he came from there and couldn’t work out what you were trying to say
-
Another 3 points towards safety at least

I’ve not seen the game as I’ve just finished playing myself, but been to the last 2 away games. The worst part about this start is the hope… we’ve been hurt so many times by City, I think I kinda liked the doing nothing and expecting nothing ? I’m not ready for heartbreak again

Yep, hindsight says he had a fantastic 18 months IMO. Kept us up, settled the ship, kept us up again by any means necessary and has now removed some deadwood All along blooding young talent, galvanising the squad and giving us something to be proud of again. Was it pretty? No. Did we win enough games? Absolutely not. Has he done what we needed to start to rebuild? Absolutely.

Semenyo is not a striker they score goals

The problem is, the Prem don't generally need to overspend that much to take lower talent. As soon as a Prem club shows a serious sniff of intent, many a player has their head turned by their agent and you get a Fammy situation where the player downs tools and forces a move. Luckily that isn't happening here and that's credit to everyone involved around the young lads. -
Any idea how many the next placed team had? Someone will always be at the bottom of any list, but are we adrift of even the next ones? 1 in 90 does same obscene, how many have we conceded in that time~?

Also having a manager with a big reputation in the game. I know he's had failings, but his tenure at Leicester will be what most people know him for. He's the sort of manager I'd want to play for
-
Has that really happened? Wow. I thought he was a real threat against us Saturday, arguably their only serious one to be honest. Him and Thompson were MOM for me from them
-
This is the biggest thing for me, it's not that we kept hold of everyone as such it's that we don't seem to have the disruption of players wanting out at the whiff of a big move. Rumoured interest in Antoine doesn't appear to have turned his head and I'm sure we've already heard Scott say he's happy to stay here and get regular football? Whatever we're doing in the academy, we're doing it right. These kids have good heads and advice around them it seems. Now extend your contracts, have a good season and secure us a big deal next summer if that's what you wish to do. I can't believe how much more enjoyable we are to watch. I'll take the frustrations of a last minute equaliser for the fact that 85 minutes on Saturday were the most fun I've had watching City in years.

I hope they keep out more than we score, but I fear at times you may be correct!
