  1. Not true, the Italians scored first. First England player though
  2. Admitted It in the ticket thread, don’t feed the troll
  3. Speaks a person who has no idea what they’re talking about. ivr mentioned before, A lad in our team came out to us, I had hours of in depth chats with him and it’s ******* horrifying what he went through and how he was treated by the few people in his life that he had opened up to. It’s not so much about announcing it, it’s about not having to hide it anymore. Your immature comments sum it up really, sexuality is much more than sex. Perhaps when people like yourself grow up and don’t enable childish comments and attitudes thrn more people will feel comfortable being who they are and it won’t be a big deal any more. I had to report someone just last week in a game because he decided to call me a faggot, I’ll stand up against that language all day long. Apologies if that’s a bit strong but it’s something I care greatly about.
  4. To be fair, Wembley is hell to get out of with that sort of crowd. Could easily take you an hour to get to the tube, many would miss last trains home. Trains in this direction have been shit all week too, not necessarily strikes but cancellations and delays
  5. How is this true, it wasn’t a “sell out”? Less tickets available I’m guessing for some reason?
  6. Well it’s not their heaviest defeat so far, so you’re probably right ?
  7. You have to be on a wind up?
  8. The Scotland game was an anomaly, they were bang up for it and it was a nervy game. How many times in football have we seen the bigger team get held by the plucky underdog? I disagree about being boring, Germany, Ukraine and Denmark were all very exciting games to watch. England were the better team first half last night, Germany had 20 minutes at the start of the second half and that was it really. It wasn’t great, but we didn’t only “start to play” at 2-0.
  9. Ive always backed Maguire for England, eg when he recovered his place half way through the Euros. However I agree with this. If he’s not getting in at club level how can he play at national level? He won’t be “match” fit and up to the pace come the WC. It’s clear his confidence is shot and he needs to be taken out of the firing line. I’d like to have seen Tomori, White, Coady or even Webster get a chance. Exactly this, we are far too slow in posession and often too “safe”. I thought against Italy that Maguire was quite good at passing forwards and breaking the lines. He didn’t do that tonight and so often we took 4/5 touches for a pass when it could have been 1 or 2 max. When we did do one touch we carved them open. Great game to be fair, glad I went in the end. Can’t believe how many people left at 2-0 and even despite the last minute equaliser they missed an entertaining half hour of football. The result masks another slightly worrying performance (albeit better than Friday). I’m not hopeful going into this tournament, but we showed some fight and some positives tonight that mean we’re not completely down and out. The group still worries me. Iran won’t be a walkover and Wales will be bang up for it. At least we can get back to worrying about City for a couple of months now.
  10. I wouldn’t say so, it’s the last game before a World Cup. I’d say the Switzerland / Ivory Coast friendlies at the end of last season were more pointless.
  11. No way there was 90k there tonight (being really pedantic the record is 89 something) What do you expect though? It’s always sterile for “friendlies”, it’s full of tourists. Picked up a bit after we scored but it’s never gonna reach the Euros levels when anyone can pick up a ticket on general sale
  12. What makes you say that? he’s in the match day squad. Got tickets to tonight and really struggled to find motivation but I’ve found someone else who’s going and dragged myself out. I’m as pro-England, glass half full as it gets and I’m dreading this WC at the moment. Really hope we do something tonight to show some hope or potential for November. I can’t believe how much we seem to have regressed since the Euros, and this was the one the FA targeted doing well in…
  13. Agree, very much enjoying watching us at the moment and been lucky to get to 3 games so far
  14. Me too, obviously it’s what I want - just answering the question realistically
  15. I voted relegation, doesn’t mean I want us to or think it will happen soon, but on law of averages through our history I’d say it’s more likely we go down at some point rather than up.
  16. Exactly, Maguire and Walker are nailed on starters, like it or not and the alternatives without those said players don’t seem to be favoured by Southgate
  17. Walker’s started every game for City until he got an injury.
  18. Really? Maguire, Walker, Rice, Sterling, Kane, Foden will probably all start. Bellingham and James quite likely too Pope, probably not. Dier, didn’t do anything wrong but would like to hope we’ve got better quality. Saka not in that position.
  19. Think this closely sums up my thoughts. Ive always been pro Southgate, and I don’t think everything tonight was down to him - players should be able to move the ball quicker, 3-4 touches instead of 1-2 is too long at this level and passing lanes get blocked. I like Maguires forward passing, he’s brave and beats the press / breaks lines. However he’s a shadow of his former self defensively and some of his decision making is wild (that header back pass and that corner he gave away are two examples) Sterling looked awful. It’s a worry that the “nailed on” starters are so out of form. Even more so we’re one game away from the WC with no idea of our best 11 or preferred shape as he changed it tonight. Saka is not a LWB. Grealish excites but he’s an absolute idiot. Potentially a starter for Monday but picks up a stupid booking and now he’s suspended! I’m always over positive about England, but that was terrible last night - and I thought Italy were poor too, gave the ball away a lot it was a low quality game.
  20. Why? If it wasn’t it would be friendlies. Perhaps that would have better to play teams outside of our continent, but at least these are (semi) competitive games
  21. I expect more of a 2010 tbh, bore our way through the group stages just about but face Netherlands and crash out. It’s not beyond possibility to go out in the group stage tbh - wouldn’t fancy us if we needed a result against wales, especially as they should get 4 or 6 points from first 2 games
  22. Well if you work til 2 I can’t see that you’re able to go to many away games as it is? I can’t see it having any dramatic affect on attendance, people would get more of their Saturday evening available to them. For every person it doesn’t suit there will be someone it does.
