Back Home In Bristol- The Dreadnoughts
MarcusX replied to candygram for mongo's topic in Football Chat
Mentioning cider drinking and West Country men, carrying a sample of the wurzels? It’s definitely our Bristol. they claim to be heavily influenced by West Country folk music, in particular the wurzels. -
No we don’t. I can’t think of any players we’ve boo’ed who has simply gone on to a bigger club with no other factors.

Why? All rhe ref will do is tell him to hurry up

Hillsborough chants and football fans’ fading memories
MarcusX replied to Antman's topic in Football Chat
I think it's worth noting that this topic came up again because of accusations against Forest fans last weekend, yet as far as I know, no evidence has surfaced of this? -
Hillsborough chants and football fans’ fading memories

Not quite the same, but at Glastonbury this year there were a couple of occasions like this. The worst was the Sunday when Diana Ross was on, obviously not a "racous" performance, however the sheer number of people in one space was unbelievable and it was prime time for people trying to leave the festival too. There were points where as far as the eye could see everyone was shoulder to shoulder like sardines and impossible to move or even breathe properly at times. My point is, it doesn't just happen at football and it doesn't just have to be "angry" or aggresive people, just too many people in one place at one time. -
I think you’d be surprised

We almost scored direct from a throw saturday (my team, not City) - long throw sailed over everyone and hit the roof of the net. Can't remember what the outcome would be if it went in, presume a goal kick rather than a re-taken throw? Had a few crackers this season with people not knowing rules, fave was a guy who flagged our striker offside from a goal kick - whole back line stopped while he ran through on goal. Ref rightly overruled - lino didn't realise you can't be offside from a goal kick ? Had a ref give a freekick (against me incidentally) instead of a penalty but insisting it wasn't in the box, it was on the line - and resultant free kick taken from the line ? Always amuses me when fans get irate about the ball not being IN the quadrant from a corner. many at West Brom screaming and shouting at the ref.

I did at West Brom, and the jobs worth forced people towards them - or at least they blocked off the upper block and you couldn’t get there if your ticket wasn’t for the area. Luckily a few of us stood at the back of the bottom section

4-4-2, easy as that. Why hasn’t Nige thought of it ? -
Correct, it wasn't used in either leg but was used in the other semi final

Sounded good from the lower block, gutted they were being jobsworths and couldn’t get up there. Luckily the people around me stood all game and we still had a bit of atmosphere down the bottom there -

I reckon you might have came in and stood behind me second half, back of the lower block? I got stuck in that too but luckily made it in time. No idea what caused it, traffic flow management because the road by the ground is closer for the game I assume?! -

I can’t believe someone earlier said he’d effectively lost the dressing room or the players weren’t putting the effort in. Excellence performance and every single one of them put their bodies on the line tonight and got stuck right in. So proud of that, never expected to come away with a win! Now, who’s selling their Reading ticket? I need one! -
