  1. Is it on the red button?
  2. I've seen that before, not actually sure what the rule is. As an attacker you can take a free kick with someone in the way if you want to. It's usually a yellow card if the defender blocks the kick, I'll always kick it and get the player booked if he's delibarately being a dick - but I have had occasions where what you said happened and the ref knew what we were trying to do and bsaically say it's your fault, play on.
  3. Not even sure what your first line means When has VAR been available at a City home game? Only time I can think it even being disputed was the EFL Cup semi final but it wasn't used for our game because we didn't have the tech. it was used in the other semi final.
  4. Sorry to create a thread, I've now found out I can go Saturday (my game's been postponed) So does anyone have a spare ticket they may be looking to shift? I'm not Bristol based so will struggle to collect a physical ticket in advance - i'll be at WBA tomorrow though
  5. Ah didn’t know that, I still say if they’d got the corner decision right then we wouldn’t be talking about this. I kinda wanted city to win, know too many Arsenal fans and they are insufferable at the best of times. Never known a set of fans to go on and on so much in self analysis with a sense of entitlement as well. At least United fans just accept they are shit now
  6. I’m not sure it would, he touched it with two hands but it was never in full control, Haalands entitled to go for it
  7. Also worth adding, I’m pretty sure the goal came almost directly from the goal kick that should have been a corner after ederson saved Salah’s one on one. The correct decision there and the City goal doesn’t play out the way it did
  8. I think the argument is that the ref was letting things go all game, he even saw it and waved play on. To go back and then give the foul (which was a clear foul) was perhaps inconsistent with the physicality of the game that he allowed
  9. On one hand incredibly frustrating and from a playing perspective the quality seems to be getting worse On the other hand, we’ve had a few of our games videoed this season and it’s amazing how different some things can look from a different angle and remembering that they’ve only seen it once in real time. Eg a red we got a couple of weeks ago looked a great tackle, on review he was nowhere near the ball and it could have been a leg breaker. Theres no game without them, and it’s a difficult job to do but some seem to really lack consistency and control
  10. That said, it didn’t seem to matter when Villa benefitted due to a mix up with the goal line tech playing a not insignificant role in keeping them up that season.
  11. I know there’s only a few replies, but is this the first time everyone has been in agreement in a post on here! ?
  12. I think the issue was communication with VAR, I guess it might be against the premier league rules now to play on without it?
  13. Bias. Plain and simple. Anyone saying that isn’t a penalty has a bias against Kane, Spurs or for another Prem club. Kane isn’t squeaky clean, and he’s certainly a master of inviting contact, but that’s one of the clearest penalties you’ll see. This is the angle everyone needs to see, clearly taken out by Pickford and potentially also clipped by Coady on the heel first:
  14. Stats don’t really tel the story of what’s happened here though
  15. Is it a physical ticket or can you email it? I’m gonna go West Brom and not got ticket yet, but can’t make tomorrow / not Bristol based
  16. There's 2 parts to that question. In terms of fairness, they can't just go into the Prem In terms of competitiveness, I've no doubt if Rangers and/or Celtic were in the Prem with that big money they'd be as big a pull as any of the top clubs for top players
  17. Only the 2nd win in 11 years (19 games) so you can see why it was said.
  18. Bit odd, I don’t think anyone thinks otherwise?
  19. We can barely buy a win against them, 4 since 99, 8 in my lifetime and 4 of those came in 5 games between 90-96 ? Can probably be called a bogey team
  20. That’s very selective, we’ve only won one of those 7. In fact 1 in 18 apparently, spanning over 10 years?
  21. Part of me thinks it’s bad for lower league and grass roots football, but as someone rightly pointed out on Twitter - it’s easy enough to watch 3pm KOs if you wanted to, so will it have much impact?
  22. You can’t just pull someone back once they’ve got past you and 1 on 1 with the keeper ?
  23. Definitely a pen and definitely a red, by the letter of the law. I assume it’s Robbie Savage commentating? Says he gets his shot away - yea completely off-balance because he’s been pulled back twice, frustrating as hell when a ref gives “advantage” for an off-balance shot. No attempt to play the ball so if it’s a foul it’s a red by the rule book.
  24. I stepped back after posting as I didn't want to get into a heated debate - again, apologies if my post was strong but (as you may have too) seen first-hand what can happen to people who are gay (or trans as you know) I agree that the sooner it's not a "thing" the better, but I think we all know it is. Statistically, there is likely to be footballers in this country who are gay and feel they have to hide it for fear of backlash. It wasn't the opinion that made it immature (in my opinion), it was the language used. This misses the point, have you ever had to hide your sexuality? Avoid taking your partner to a social gathering? Been attacked simply for who you are attracted to? If not, then you don't understand. No one comes out because they think it's "interesting", they're normalising it. @nebristolredhas made the point really well so I don't need to repeat it further.
