Unless we have changes at the top and a new coach, we will do very well to avoid being in a relegation battle next season.
The negative atmosphere permeating the club and fanbase will prove to be a self fulfilling prophesy.
As far as quality reinforcements are concerned we won’t attract them with the wages we pay and tbh why would real quality want to come to us anyway?
Apart from Cardiff, Swansea, Preston, Stoke and possibly QPR the other Championship sides appear to be more attractive.- 1

Twine excellent against Rotherham, he has been largely peripheral. Every time Liams interviewed at the moment though if I’m Burnley I’m shoving another couple of 100k on the price! Fine if he wants him but it’s not exactly negotiating 101…!!!
For negotiation’s sake……Rotherham gave us that much room in midfield, BT could have still done a job. And if he’d have been playing, we’d have scored a goal in open play.

I've generally kept quiet and supported Manning, though I never wanted Pearson sacked.
There seems a general acceptance from the people around me who are not vocal that this is not working and unfortunately it isn't going to.
A really poor appointment by the people the above him. The club is in dissaray, this has been covered up by points earned earlier in the season. God help us if this the future.
I have never felt as low or, what is worse, as disinterested in what is going on. I’ve loved the fact that a local man is the owner of our football club. In 50+ years I’ve seen it all. Stood in the enclosure when Whitehead took us to the promised land, stood twenty years later when we were away at Brentford shouting that we want a change; highs and lows and many in between! Highs and lows and I’ve not even mentioned the early 80s.
However we have turned it round on many occasions and I’ve always felt we could do it again. Not now, though.
I won’t forget what Steve and Maggie have done for our club but this has become beyond a joke. I’m not laughing and despite all the Top Six and we beat Southampton jokes, I don’t believe anyone else is laughing either. I fukking hated Tiny Pulis and sometimes found LJ’ s sh1t hard to take but fukk me, Manning is a total waste of space. He feels nothing for our club and he has no idea how to engage with the media, with us or indeed, the players.
I loved Tinman as a player but the very fact that he is where he is shows how the Lansdowns and he don’t have a clue.
There is only one way for this not to end disastrously (in League 1 and potentially beneath the Gas) is for a total total change from the top down.
Until that happens, I’m out!- 10

Are you implying that he gives a sh1t?
Don’t worry about the medals just look at his pay packet!!

I don’t think we have mentioned beating Man U as much as these guys mention beating Southampton…. And that has a several year head start!

As far as ‘re-lag-ation’ is concerned, I would prefer an old lag like Colin, Mowbray or NP. If we’re talking ‘re-leg-ation’, we definitely have one foot in the grave (or League 1 as it’s known). I just hope we’re not Manning the lifeboats come April/May.

James may be past his best but his reading of the game/positional sense is still top drawer.

Perhaps what everyone is realising is that turning Bristol City into one of the top 10-15 football clubs in the country is well nigh an impossible job in the 2020s.
Without history, tradition and huge financial backing, it simply ain’t going to happen. Add to that a relatively small supporter base unused to any prolonged achievement and no parachute payments then you really do have mission practically impossible.
Clubs of our ranking and status occasionally burn brightly but they usually fall back to earth and have to start the process all over again.
Even clubs with more of the three essential ingredients find it hard going a lot of the time. Examples of these are Leeds, Everton, Forest, Wednesday, West Brom and even Villa although they are doing alright at the moment.
Unfortunately football has become a game where only the uber rich can succeed and even though there is the smaller time example of Wrexham, I can’t see a Sheikh or a multi-national being attracted to plough in the kind of money needed to little old Bristol City.
SL has had relative success with Bristol Rugby but it’s a smaller pond and they do have history and tradition.
We can look enviously at Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth but how long will their stay in the Prem last? Also throw in the recent success (ish) of Sheff Utd, Watford, Burnley and Luton and question where those clubs are destined to be any more than yo-yo clubs at best.
Lansdown has created a reasonably solid base for someone to come in and do a Plymouth, a Preston or some such mediocrity but I fear we may be in for some tough years.
The time to push on was during or just after the GJ time. I fear SL has been treading water for too long, the climate has changed and we’re no longer that attractive to new investors.
I hope I’m wrong but I ain’t holding my breath.

Recently the AG crowd has been so loud, it sounds like Aldershot.

Confidence is very low. Probably as low as any team. We may not go down but I reckon the brown cords will need washing many times in April.

Not necessarily my absolute favourite but ‘We all dream of a team of Ivan Sproules’ always made me laugh; so did ‘Let’s pretend we’ve scored a goal’ but that was an always look on the bright side moment as we were usually 4-0 down away from home when that was sung.

Having a good game thus far, too inconsistent for my liking however.
No shame in holding a very good Leeds team to a draw at HT, id take a point at full time.
No shame? Our ability to give the ball away time after time and never win a 50 50 is in fact full of shame.
