Can’t say I’ve read that or seen it inferred, he was told on Saturday that he was being dismissed, the exact content of that conversation and the timescale for him leaving remains unknown to everyone except Curtis and whoever delivered it. What is known is that he new on Saturday night that he would be leaving.

Anyway the blood letting is over and we welcome the new head coach to the club, I doubt that any other coach has arrived at a club with the kind of expectation from any board that our new coach has.

I wonder what the cost has been to remove the four incumbents and recruit the two (at the moment) new people, circa £2M would be my guess.

I presume you mean board of directors rather than this board cos there ain’t much expectation on here!! Or excitement!!

I have it on good authority that Shags is Kasey Palmer.

Surely some mistake. Rather have Kasey Jones. Already got a song for that appointment:

Kasey Jones hootin  and a rollin

Kasey Jones you never have to guess

When you hear the tootin on the whistle

It’ll be Kasey at the throttle of the Bristol C express

  3. There are many well thought out responses on here that are critical without personal vitriol. Great!

But for those of you who are vindictive and who use terribly insulting language (not to say offensive). Please DON'T!!  Let's keep it respectful!

The Lansdowns and Brian Tinnion have as much right to have their mental health respected and protected as the rest of our City family (and wider).

“We’re not going to line someone up whilst someone’s still in charge, we have morals”

Brighton freely admit they plan for the next manager. It is silly not to. Nothing to do with morals. Nice could have jumped ship himself and possibly wouldn't have been well enough to continue anyway.

But, the step up to the Championship is different gravy. He should finish the job IMO. McKenna has done it at Ipswich but he was been heavily backed and he has the squad.    We are further away from the PL than we were a week ago.

We do have a decent group of players who can play a bit. The first 20 minutes (for example) against Stoke demonstrated classy, attacking football with great movement. However, there is a flaky mentality that even an experienced manager like Pearson couldn't completely counteract. I really doubt whether our younger players are going to be able to respond to a young inexperienced coach who has all the tactical ideas but no clue as how to motivate players to play well when under the cosh.

If JL accepts that communication hasn't been good enough like he says, then do something about it!!!

Get himself on a podium in the South Stand with a mic for 2moros game. Don't just tell us it's not good enough, we know that. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

No podium required. Enough empty seats even when ‘sold out’.

But seriously, if communication is something he recognises has become an issue, he needs to take advice as to the best way to go about it. This could have been a start, if he’d followed his old man and had a segment where he answered questions from the fans.

It's almost like these chairman don't understand there's another team on the pitch trying to do the exact same bloody thing

As it’s a load of balls, here’s the answer. Two teams on the pitch, both playing attacking, front-foot football; let’s splash out and get two balls on the pitch.
Even better, let’s have four balls for each team, then you can have both overlapping full backs and inverted ones at the same time.

What we now get to see is Tinnion perform, without Gould and Pearson driving it.  That’s a very big shift in resources!

That's as big a shift, if not bigger, than the Scott/Semenyo shift in resources. We didn't replace those two with similar quality; what could lead us to believe that we will replace Gould and Pearson with better quality?

I'm less optimistic than you, Dave. I can't see a Postecoglou like Ange(l) coming to save our board.

So is this guy coming or do we have 13 pages of bollox!

You’re a youngster. I’ve had 50 years of mainly bollox but the last three days and those two videos have been up there.

...a guess - Dave Barton said 'these are the questions that need to be answered'....

...answers came there none I'm afraid.

Who on earth thinks we have a squad to match that of the top clubs in this league?

To think that that man runs an institution I care deeply about! It's embarrassing.

He looks like he’s on day release from an institution-Barrow Gurney

Gordon Low left in 1968. He was captain of the City side that lost at White Hart Lane in 1967.
Gordon Low was a  no nonsense defender , rolled up shorts and sleeves . He and Jack Connor were at the heart of City’s defence in the first team I watched .
    RIP Gordon .

Spurs went in to win the cup that year…. as I think they did after beating us in the semi final of the League Cup.

    if only….

    RIP Gordon

Like him too but our midfield failed to win enough 50 50s after their goal. Not sure we won much in the air either throughout the whole team.
When we get the ball down and play we look good but did we earn that right enough? Perhaps that’s where Knight needs another calm head ball winner alongside him rather than a somewhat frantic Williams.

Much the same against Rotherham, although this thread was something of a commentators’ curse.
Knight had a shocker yesterday. He gave the ball away every time apart from one back pass.

Fantastic player for us and suits our game perfectly. So good in the air too considering his size!

It’s been said many times but we need to be careful what we wish for. Better, in my opinion, to be regularly competing well in the Championship than failing miserably in the Prem.

I wonder if Sheff Utd fans are waking up this morning feeling that they’ve entered the promised land.

Give me entertaining, attacking football at 3pm on a Saturday and I don’t care about the balance sheet and the whys and wherefores of amortisation.

I care that some of our best players have gone and it’s probably bad that we don’t get the money for them up front but there will hopefully be another taxi on the rank.

I’d rather have a local owner; there is probably none of them that are really perfect. Bloom has probably got just as big an ego as SL (is that really an issue? Steve seems reasonably modest for a billionaire to me) and for every team like Brighton or Bournemouth there is an Oldham, a Charlton or a Barnsley.

Yes the communication leaves something to be desired but let’s get the game back and worry less about the business.

Too much of a romantic I suppose but……when the ball hits the goal, whether it’s Cheesley or Cole, it’s amore.

Oh and the proof of this particular pudding is the five week turn around at Spurs. Nothing has changed in the ownership structure but, at the moment, they have attacking, entertaining football so the hatred of the owner (all too evident a short time ago) fades into the background.
