  1. Actually, can you imagine the scenario. Colin meets JL :

JL:’ Welcome to BCFC, Neil. ‘
CW(Broad Yorkshire accent): ‘Sorry sonny, I’ll only speak to the organ grinder. Pi55 off to Barbados and don’t come back til I’ve saved this shambles from relegation. ‘

We've dropped 13 points in those SIX games because of the boring dull football.

You don’t lose because of boring, dull football. In fact in many instances eg a relegation fight, winning ugly is preferable or even required.
Exciting attacking football sometimes allows inconsistency of results to be overlooked. Just look at Spurs.
It’s when you lose playing boring football that it gets really bad.
memories are short but we’ve certainly had patches like that under all our recent managers. GJ less so and certainly not Cotts’ double season. There’s been plenty of mediocrity for years.

. Anyone would think we were any good before he took over (15th was it?). We’re just not that good.

You’re bang on. Apart from moments like the first 20 against Stoke, we have badly missed Scott and Semenyo in terms of really creating anything.
This ‘project’ (sorry) was pretty much doomed (or at least limited to mid table at best) once those two were sold.
NP got buy in from a mediocre bunch which meant they were over performing enough to pick up some points.
Now the buy in seems to have faded and they are being asked to play a style they’re not suited to, things are regressing.
However with the addition of a really quality, creative CM and a progressive right back, that might be enough to spark the others. Particularly if we get the  likes of Wells and Naismith back.

Behaviors'...I bloody loath that coaching terminology. Manning uses it a lot.

    What about ‘final actions’?

     Same coaching manual?

image.thumb.png.fd346ecdef854043485f48f500426ee3.pngIf their behaviours and final actions aren’t not reinforcing what the group don’t know, they’ll be back to square one.

I’m sure money goes relatively hand in hand with ambition / climbing up the leagues.

(For info: Not all termination clauses will pay out the remainder of the contract)

I bet his does. Ps you climb the greasy pole high enough and you don’t need another job afterwards. You’ve already made more than most of us in a lifetime.

oh and it’s us (and the Lansdowns) paying it.

In what way am I naive about Nige’s sacking?

The point I’m making, like others, is that Manning would’ve done due diligence, and he’d have wanted to know several answers to why the job needed filling.  To think Manning would’ve just rocked up, listened to the spiel and taken it as told is naive thinking, isn’t it?

He’d want to know lots of stuff to inform his decision.

Yes but any intelligent person would see through the spin and Bristol Sport bullshit. Not wishing to belittle the guy but is it not a case of ‘Money talks and if I get sacked I get a big payoff anyway’   These guys are journeymen in the truly accepted interpretation: they get a huge daily rate and even if they don’t make it to the end of the contract, they get compensated the daily rate as if they’d worked the whole lot. In other words if it goes tits up they don’t give a sh1t.

...how cringeworthy is this looking back.

    Literally everything.

    Different times.

So as he’s trying to hit on Siouxsie Sioux, he gets a reaction from the protective lads and the whole swearing thing goes viral. Not a single reaction to Bill Grundie’s ‘I’ll see you later’

Yep, I remember Pearson saying something along the lines of McCrorie being an aggressive runner who will bomb on.

In addition to being annoyed by the heartless (even if later ‘I didn’t  mean it’) and ignorant posts on here by one poster, I genuinely fear that it will be extremely difficult for any athlete to come back from an illness/injury like that and be anything like they were before.
I don’t know what you were like before Ross but I wish you all the best for a total recovery. Keep strong. (And ignore the ridiculous comments)!!

I think it's clear that we disagree. I have said a number of times before that i liked Nige, but i never saw a progression in the way we played over his 3 years. I fully appreciate that he worked under restrictions but the modern game is all about posession and i was never convinced that we were going to move forward under him.

Time will tell if Manning will do any better, but lets all get behind him and support the team.

Trouble is we haven’t got the players to really nail a possession game. Not enough technical players who can play on the half turn. Play a game that’s not suited to your players and you’ll get found out by the top teams. Coaching can go some way to improving things but you need raw talent. NP was experienced enough to cut his coat according to his cloth. Problem is his signings are either not good enough or are injured. Manning has an odd mixture of veterans, youngsters and journeymen. No real real quality cos it’s all gone to the south coast.

  11. Ah I get it now. Nige only had half a season ticket!! First half!

Wonder if  Colin has got a quarter season ticket. Last quarter!!

22,000 at home every week for a team paying premier league ticket prices to see a team that’s never played in the PL, hasn’t played in the top flight in over 40 years, and have never won a major trophy, what other group of fans can say the same?

Think I'd better log off; I've obviously drifted into a gas forum by mistake.

I have put together a little chant we could maybe sing on Saturday, what does everyone think? Any other players you think are in need of chants?

    Ross McCrorie, Ross McCrorie

Sitting on the sidelines, oh so sorry.

    We're all waiting for you,

To come and play for us, it's true.

    (Chorus) Ross McCrorie, Ross McCrorie,

We're all behind you, don't you worry.

We know you're injured, but we're patient,

And we can't wait to see you on the pitch, oh so passionate.

Change your user name to LansdownsCRAYON! signs and shirts come from the magic crayon. It will help your mission no end if you could draw a shirt on your sign. We might even use it as a stand alone fourth shirt to be worn by all our McRories.
and No 1 is Rossie C

and No 2 is Rossie C

    and so on

We all dream of a team of Maccie C’s
