  1. I just think sooner or later he is going to take that step back. He hasn't been the same player he was since his last injury or two. He is no longer first choice and a regular starter. But obviously he is club captain and as you say has lived apart from his wife and children during all his years here, so who knows!
  2. I don't see him extending his contract. Big factor in this is that he has never moved his family down from the Midlands. I can see that he is popular in the dressing room and would would seemingly be a natural coach after he finishes playing, but that would be at another team closer to his family home would be my guess.
  3. It was all part of it though wasn't it. I loved the thrill of a proper derby day. Not many matches have come close to that since.
  4. A quick search shows 507 Gasheads at Crewe compared to 336 of us at Blackburn. So he is right. You might like to point out though that the Saturday previous to this we had an away match of not dissimilar distance whilst they were at home. Cost would be a factor here I would think.
  5. Absolutely this. Loved those days, I would go back to those times in a heartbeat.
  6. Your £1 ticket could have so easily been £30. Your £1.25 fee would have then only been around 4% of your ticket price. Would that have made you happier?
  7. Have the supporters been given free/heavily subsidised travel again?
  8. He, like Conway, play so much better when Wells is in the team.
  9. It does seem like that, I've been there a few times and been through all that too! I'm not going tomorrow, decided to miss a couple of away matches. Nothing to do with the football/change of manager, it's just a busy time at work and I need a break from travelling and losing a whole day to football . To all those that are going, wrap up warm and I hope it's a great game for you!
  10. Just don't assume anything until it's announced. I think many have decided it's a 3pm Saturday KO purely because we are not a TV pick.
  11. I'm thinking our Board thought "Hey, do you remember when Steve Cooper took over at Forest and they were bottom or thereabouts. Well he got them promoted later on that season. We aren't bottom so Manning has a 'headstart' on Cooper, so we will tell him it's achievable so get on with it"
  12. It won't be any thing like £45, trust me on this
  13. So if we don't get the team to play 'our way' under the coach (who has played a different way all his career), then the coach has to change (his way) which seems bonkers?
  14. The argument seems to be that we took 6k or whatever it was all the way to Manchester on a Wednesday night.
  15. No indeed. And I know he won't want a sacking on his CV, (but what Manager doesn't), but even if he only lasts 6mths it's a hell of a payout £££. Obviously for someone as driven him, and indeed most managers, it's the winning that matters, but as with Pearson when you are released the money certainly softens the blow. In short, no nobody forced him to take the job but if we are going to offer it then why not.
  16. Wouldn't you lack confidence too? look what he is surrounded with on and off the pitch. And all eyes looking at him. I do actually like him and obviously I want him to do well, but he must be looking at the hand he's been delt and thinking "oh fluck".
  17. Unless your name is pretty much opening doors for you perhaps?
  18. yup, my first reaction was is that his own decision.
  19. That's the max yes, I was just reading about what other teams have had in the past. I think there must be an option of upper or lower tier, or both. 8k being both which I'm sure we will ask for I love the DLR. Disappointed whenever I go to London and don't use the DLR
