  3. I guess this is different from when a ‘almost qualified’ Uni student is placed in a business and used to do a lot of vital work without pay? But then that’s classed as learning?
  4. I realised that, I was just trying to add a bit of humour, but to be fair it was early and so I probably deserve ‘whoosh’
  5. I thought he was being paid and producing nothing so far.
  6. Depends if they want a couple of years worth of contract I guess. If they aren’t particular bothered if they play or not if it’s offered they will naturally sign.
  7. FAO @Riaz deadly adjective 1. causing or able to cause death. "a deadly weapon"
  8. Totally agree with you. I wonder how many will enjoy going back to normal at AG then go and hug elderly relatives or vulnerable others soon after. It seems a huge lunge to go from not even being able to attend matches for 16mths to no restrictions, just relying on peoples sense and goodwill. And lets me honest are emotional football fans generally the most level headed and reasonable people? As inconvenient as it maybe, it does seem to need some middle ground here.
  9. Great race by lewis to take the win, but I think we missed out on a decent battle between him and Max which was a shame
  10. Dirty move by Lewis. Glad Max is ok
  11. Really interesting, obviously I knew colour blindness existed but never had any experience at all. I never knew it was so varied, I thought people either saw certain colours or they didn’t. I guess it is similar to that white/blue/gold dress thing that swept the Internet a few years ago, everyone is different. i certainly didn’t realise it affected so many people. More males than females if I remember correctly?
  12. I agree. The club seems to operate on the fact that the employees could be fans and therefore are delighted to work for them, dream job as you say.
  13. I also thought that the Fruit Market, or maybe one of the companies in it (they would all have to agree to sell or relocate) was owned by a staunch City fan who was highly unlikely to help the Gas in any way.
  14. I don’t disagree at all. I read somewhere a quote which said the season is just qualification for a knockout cup, a good description I think. Yes everyone knew the rules at the start, etc, etc. But I don’t see why there can’t be League Champions then a playoff for a Champions Cup. One team could do the double of course, but it would be fairer and therefore more just to all involved.
  15. Not really fair play is it though when the team that finished 4th are declared the Champions
  16. We are thinking this too. Also what is puzzling me is that The Killers are end of May, are they really going to leave the pitch covered for a month between the concerts? There won’t be any possibility of working on it until after either which is quite late. I think there could be more...
  17. When local TV news went to AG last night for Euro coverage an advert for EJ was shown on the screen outside, by accident I believe. But yes I heard the rumours too, this confirms it.
  18. I agree. But as far as I’m concerned we finished top after playing a season of rugby, so we won the league. We won’t have a trophy or the title of Champions, but we are. Everyone knows the format at the start and it’s very harsh when it pans out like today. But as you say if we couldn’t see out the game after being so far ahead then we got what we deserved. So anyway, I predictvwe will finish fourth next year and go on to be crowned as Champions and will be parading a trophy. It won’t feel right but neither does it feel right at the moment.
  19. Yup, whatever happens they should remember that they finished top and therefore are the Champions.
  20. I’m hearing we were expected to be told late last night but only found out an hour or so ago, after all the food etc had been prepared. What a waste. Apparently Exeter are moaning too, even though the Covid was nothing to do with us! Gutted it’s cancelled but also relieved that we hadn’t exposed ourself to it unwittingly too.
  21. Retained list announced. I always knew it was happening but gutted not to have seen Max and Ben play
  22. I think the Ref went over to find out what the delay was. To restart the game we needed a player to be in the scrum and the Ref went over to find out why we hadn’t immediately had a player ready. Pat said in the interview, words to the effect of, that Afoa was injured a couple of weeks ago and was only played due to Sincklers injury. He said he never ever takes Afoa off after 40 minutes but as he wasn’t fully fit he didn’t want him to be injured. It seems we were preventing injury rather than him actually being injured. So when Pat was asked he said he was injured but of course it had been recorded as tactical as it was in the strict letter of the law. The Ref was trying to talk to Pat who was being shouted down by Leicester players and staff. Afoa just sat there amused. The official word is that Afoa just said ‘bugger it, I’ll go back on’ and Pat was heard to say to the Ref that he would hold him responsible if Afoa was injured as a result of this. After the game Pat was insistent that he was looking after Afoa who then had to return to the pitch without being warmed up and was already carrying an injury. Afoa then basically won the game for us in the scrum, screamed with joy at a Leicester player who then had a fight with him after the whistle. Hughes was pulling players off him as they all piled in and took a few hits himself. @Kid in the RiotI think you probably know all this but I was just using your post to respond for those that have been asking.
