  1. Festivals have everything against them regarding Covid haven’t they. The close proximity people are, both watching the bands and sharing facilities. The demograph of the attendees, mostly young and unlikely to be vaccinated by then. Travelling to get there would also be a challenge. I’m not at all surprised as I said about the announcement, but mentally it was something to look forward to after a tough year. Least we know now and have tickets for next time, whenever that might be. Its really making me question if anything will ever be the same again.
  2. Officially cancelled. Tickets remain valid for next year. No big surprise.
  3. It's not just the winning team bit for me. I guess the thing I most enjoy is seeing the 'journey' having watched some of the players in the Championship now Premiership. Seeing how Pat Lam has influenced and built the team. I'm under no illusion that yes it has had money spent on players, coaches, facilities etc. But you can spend and fail, you can have the wrong DNA so to speak and it doesn't work. The whole Bears ethnic is something else. They play as a team and you can see the bond and what it means. I cannot find the words to explain it only that they have that 'something' that I haven't seen in our footballers for a while.
  4. Basically this: No excuses but it really was in the heat of the moment. Sinckler I think was on the floor or picking himself up after being on the end of a tackle which was at best clumsy and at worse dangerous. He screamed at the Ref immediately, if he had given himself even 5 seconds more he probably wouldn’t have. He seemed to be in shock and it just came out. Sinckler has already apologised via social media for screaming “Are you fucking serious?” after Dickson ruled that a diving tackle by Luke Cowan-Dickie did not merit a yellow card for non-use of the arms. The tighthead, who was once a teammate of Dickson’s at Harlequins, did not receive a sanction at the time but has now been ordered to appear before an online disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening.
  5. It doesn’t bother me at all, but that was the clearest swearing I’ve ever heard at a rugby or football match on tv. The commentators are always apologising for ‘language’ but I rarely hear what they are appologing for, but Sinckler’s was loud and clear ? Rugby seem far, far less tolerant of any abuse or backchatting to the Refs. Most of the Refs treat the players like they are in a PE lesson and they are the teacher. Maybe as Sinckler is an England International and an example as such they are making an example of him?
  6. Kyle Sinckler @KyleSinckler Want to apologise for my reaction today. Not the example I want to be setting. Heat of the moment stuff. Will make a conscious effort to improve. My bad 7:19 PM · Jan 9, 2021
  7. I think the fact he apologised almost immediately (on Social media) will have helped, hopefully. But will he be that big a miss?
  8. I was absolutely buzzing after that game. It’s a long time since I felt that about City. I never thought I would say that.
  9. It was a beautiful try. Gutted it didn’t stand as something that well worked now won’t be shown over and over again. Also how fantastic would have it have been in front of a packed AG.
  10. I felt a bit guilty about that too ?
  11. Must be very weird for London. A few days ago they were bigging it up over the rest of us when they could attend football, now they can’t have Xmas dinner with Grannie.
  12. Pat Lam said after the game (and I paraphrase) that we dominated/played better against Wasps but lost. Today we were second best, and won. And yes the commentators during the match were desperate for Saints to get the win, but to be fair pre-match gave us good and fair coverage. It was certainly ‘poor unlucky Saints to have your win snatched away’ rather than ‘well done Bristol, you used your subs well and played till the final whistle’.
  13. If our kicker could kick, and the Ref not gone back too many phases and given the try we would have been 16 points to the better. A win ugly with so many changes and injuries has to be the indication of a good squad
  14. I thought every ground had to have a test event of before they could allow the full quota in? I guess that night was their test?
  15. The speed that it happened was frightening. Huge fire and as others have said amazing that he got out of that, considering he was really strapped in too. No wonder he was later seen in the medical car with tears streaming down his face, massive shock for onlookers never mind him. Not sure how the other drivers refocus to race again today.
  16. The young keeper needs a hug. Maybe Darlo will win 5-4 ?
  17. 4 now, well at least they aren’t league goals
  18. Hopefully this will be good. The Ref, Brett Huxtable is one of the most slated lower league Refs. There are always great comments on Twitter following his inevitable mistakes. Let’s hope the Gas on on the receiving end of a few bad desisions for a change.
  19. There has been a lot said about ventilation. The scientists at the briefing with Boris yesterday mentioned being indoors and having all the windows open (yeah right, people are going to sit around the Xmas table and have a blast of arctic air around Grannie). So I guess all the exit doors would have to be open in the concourses, manned by stewards or barriers I guess to stop people gaining entry if they are ticketless. There are some very big shuttered doors, easily big enough to drive a large vehicle through so there is plenty of scope for ventilation in what is always a cold area anyway.
  20. Exactly, how can there not be another wave. A bit of mixing and there is a flair up. A lot of mixing, indoors, in the middle of ‘flu season and when people are delighted to be seeing eachother is a recipe for disaster. As one scientist said, just because you are allowed to do something doesn’t mean you have to. Great advice I think.
  21. Great team spirit amongst the Bears
  22. As others have said it will be a good game to get out of the way. A bonus point is probably our aim, but don’t underestimate the Bears as they won’t want Wasps to hang onto the title of the only team we can’t beat either.
  23. You will probably have more knowledge of this than me, but doesn’t that now mean that Wales will insist they sign for a Welsh club if they want to play for their country in the future? I have also been told that Pat Lam had the good sense to sign them on long, ( 4 or 5 year deals) as Wales can only insist on that rule after the players contract runs out. Is this right, if so well done Pat Lam.
  24. Before the sacking, on Radio Bristol earlier, at least one Gashead was suggesting the Newport manager to be approached. I guess Wally was listening and thought it a good idea until he realises he wouldn’t come here/compensation would have to be paid.
