  1. I am totally unaware of Mansfield’s circumstances, but are they significantly better? Or is it purely geographical for him, does he have links with that part of the country? I’m just realising apart from him being Irish I know nothing about him.
  2. Nothing confirmed yet is there? Looks a possibility but nothing set in stone. Why would he go there, ok the Gas have not got a pot to piss in but they are 4th in league one, Mansfield are 18th in League Two.? Was he there as a player or something, what’s the connection? Not the usual Manager move for sure.
  3. London Irish had an ugly but effective game plan, and we were far off our best. We were pretty lucky to scrape the draw, they were a man down for the majority of the match. I agree they are no mugs and we seriously underestimated them. But a draw and bonus point I will happily take on reflection.
  4. Wow, that signing shows intent. Just wow.
  5. I find it impressive that rugby players largely are able to play well into their late thirties, it’s such a gruelling game physically. Quite different to football, but so is the length of a player’s career it seems? We are talking about players being a ‘fantastic signing’ at least 10 years older than we would if we were talking about football!
  6. Thank you, I was at the game today but certainly interested in future matches
  7. I was there, but watched City on my tablet. #Multitasking ?
  8. Bloody attention seeking weirdos the lot of them. How many wives/girlfriend/partners go and watch their others halves do their jobs? I can only think of a couple, either the Royal lot or the Prime Minister. So what’s the fascination with who football players are with? I’ve never been at all interested in the Wags, I doubt having seen the pics they have the intelligence of a Pringle between the lot of them, and who even still reads that scummy rag of a paper anyway?
  9. I always thought it was Mushrooms that were kept in the dark and fed shite.
  10. That’s what’s getting to me. I know little about Bury but as far as I know they never had the good times and the money from the Premier that Bolton had. Bury seem like a proper old school club with history, but always around the lower leagues. Bolton have only themselves to blame for spending beyond their means, they should have been able to cope with the position there were in. Bury have never had the chance and you got to feel when you hear about fans like this. I’m sure they don’t ask for or expect much from their team, but it’s really sad that they might not have a team for much longer.
  11. Genius, take a bow. We have the name.
  12. Phew, not just me then. I thought I had lost my senses for a while there. Last week was the first car interview of the season and it was with the Yeovil manager, he seemed a normal down to earth likeable bloke too. Mind you I think Ali Durden is good at this sort of thing and makes a very watchable short interview
  13. I feel kinda dirty, but on points west last night they had the Gas manager on. They do this thing where Ali Durden drives them around in his car and they have a chat, I actually quite liked the bloke. Too good for the Gas that’s for sure. There I said it, I feel unclean.
  14. The shirt is very much like last seasons, just with ba diagonal. Similar but different, looks ok.
  15. It was because of the sponsors of the Premiership trying to sell it to the US audience. Think they wanted games on Friday and Saturday so they could edit it for a highlights package to go with the game on Sunday. A bit like us splitting the football games over a Tuesday/Wednesday
  16. This makes sense. Yes people won’t be able to watch the women playing with out additional cost as the women’s team won’t get any revenue from ticket sales. I don’t think it’s practical for them to play before, our players need to warm up etc. For them to play they would have to be finished and cleared 2 hours or more before our match starts, as our players will be arriving and need to use the dressing room etc. They would probably have to kick off about 10am, who is going to watch then! Also our pitch is fantastic, but I wouldn’t want to play a full league of extra games plus the rugby on it. If the women played after people aren’t going to leave and then return after going through the turnstiles and pay. The regular followers of women’s football might not follow the men’s game so could be arriving looking for parking before we have exited, chaos. To keep the floodlights on for an additional 2 hours and more would also not cost effective either. And also staff like cleaners and groundsmen would have to work longer hours waiting for the matches to finish and clear up or prepare for the next game. I don’t think it could work on a regular basis, maybe one off or big cup match might? I want only men’s football on a Championship match day
  17. Yes, there is a shorter window of availability but I am expecting concerts to go ahead next year.

I guess your contract is with Club Cars but it’s their responsibility not to let Darren palm off jobs he doesnt want to his mate. I understand your point. I guess it depends if you can prove they were aware he does this, but innocence isn’t always enough?

I wondered this myself. @CliftonCliff, again I am wondering this too regarding the Agents. But if they can state they hired this pilot ( the one that has been arrested) in good faith on the belief and assurance he was qualified to transport their client and they had no idea it was going to be passed to a third party, then they are clear aren’t they? The law is really weird though at times, the onus might fall to the Agents to seek assurances such a thing wouldn’t happen, not merely assume as much.

I guess it’s going down the route of whether this pilot knowingly passed his ‘job’, to which he had a duty of care towards both the passengers and the person that hired him, to a person who wasn’t qualified to do so. Someone is to blame somewhere, even in an accident, but this could and should have be avoided. Wonder what was so important that he couldn’t fulfill the job, doubt it was so important now. I guess too they have to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future, tighten up any loopholes.

He was my first thought too.
  22. I realise that, but their ground has been allowed to retain the terracing for years, that was my point. Yes I know they had every intention, but there were a lot of difficulties. The Gas have no intention and only have difficulties ?
  23. Isn’t it x number of years to comply with all seater unless you can prove you are relocating (and perhaps redeveloping), that’s how Brentford has maintained terracing for years I think. So every season we would see Wally submit a pie in the sky pie dream hoping ( knowing) it will get rejected. But yes, good point there is no incentive to get promoted as they couldn’t sustain themselves, barely can now.
  24. From a City fans point of view, these things take too much time though. Hurry up and bankrupt the club!
  25. Good point. But even basic advertising isn’t free, except perhaps word of mouth. It just shows how cash strapped they must be not to invest in a few flyers. ‘Build it and they will come’ maybe, but people have got to know about it first.
