  1. Don’t clubs get away with it as they say they have plans to relocate/redevelop, that’s how some manage to keep terracing. Brentford for example, think they have to do the work or move within 3 years. Might be more time in the lower leagues?
  2. Obviously I can’t be 100% sure, so don’t later rely on this, but in the past couple of years when this has been offere there has been at least one more match, maybe two to claim a ticket. ( Same with rugby fans being offered football) You can only get one free ticket per ST so if you use it for Northampton for example you cannot get another for the next match offered. They almost certainly won’t be for ‘big’ games, eg Glos, Exeter but a Prem game all the same.
  3. In football we could have similar, 4 points for a win, 2 for a draw. None for a loss. A losing point if we only lost by a single goal and a bonus if we scored 3 goals or more in the match. I think the rugby do this system to keep both sides ‘going for it’ and to give some incentive to plucky losers. As for football I’m always a bit gutted to lose a game where we have scored 3, there is something about 3 that I feel should be a winning score.
  4. Here: I was going to write it all out but just lifted this from Wiki instead. So yes you can lose a match and still get 2 points if you have scored 4 Tries or more and lost by less than 7. 4 points for winning a match 2 points for drawing a match 0 points for losing a match 1 losing bonus point for losing by 7 points (or fewer) 1 try bonus point for scoring 4 tries (or more) In this system, winning teams get 4 or 5 points; drawing teams 2 or 3 points; and losing teams 0, 1, or 2 points.
  5. Ah ok. I hadn’t seen his name mentioned except in your post. Just wondered why he was?
  6. What’s this in response to? I believe he is yes, or has involvement with them for a while
  7. I can see this getting the go ahead, 4000 more people can fit in here than the TM one. This would be Bristol’s Big Arena leaving a smaller one to be built by SL in the south of the city. We will have Little and Large Arenas at opposite sides of the city. Still don't agree with it though.
  8. Cardiff Mill Stad/Principality was the only example I could think of, but your article clearly states both team have to agree. If Bognor Utd rock up at Gas Rovers indoor stadium and say no then the match can’t be played, would Bognor then get the points It will never happen, like I said let them dream.
  9. I wouldn’t have thought so no, and even using complete AstroTurf or equilivent wouldn’t be possible would it?
  10. Out of interest it takes 3 weeks to change West Ham’s ground from football to other uses, eg athletics or concerts etc. If the Gas go with this mid conversation they will have to change it back for the next game, and they got no chance if they play Saturday Tuesday Let ‘em dream though. If they haven’t got dreams what have they got
  11. Like converting the Olympic Stadium to a football stadium for West Ham? I’m sure it would have been cheaper and quicker to start again! I bet they will find asbestos or something in the Hanger, causing delays and expense. Crazy decision not to proceeed at TM where the work already done has cost millions.
  12. I’m thinking we will take a hit when necessary as long as we can pick up points in the games where we are more competitive. It will be a good game to get out of the way.
  13. Like the football they have injury problems. From what I understand the record signing is hurt but doesn’t need surgery so should be back in weeks ( end of October was mentioned) instead of 6-9 months. The player who was subbed off injured early in the game was covering this position and won’t be back. The only other player in this position is injured too so they might play Tovey there even though it’s not his position he has some experience, and he didn’t play much last year at all. Tough game to be without players.
  14. I did see one of the posts suggesting they could sell it as a retro experience and market it as that. Talk about putting a spin on things. Got to admire his spirit in adversity and all that.
  15. That’s amazing, I didn’t realise they were planning on adding more to increase their capacity and therefore generate much needed income though a few sausage roll sales. Can you imagine us turning up for a match wondering if our tent had been put up yet. We bulldozed better facilities than they could ever hope for!!! Many of us are wondering if we will see Premiership football in our lifetimes, they are wondering if they will ever have somewhere dry to eat their pasties. #MindTheGap
  16. If only I could I would, but I would have them standing around their infamous UWE display table
  17. Huge coincidence but it might actually be his name? I remember years back there was a post on here taking the piss out of someone for having what was assumed was a city players name spelt wrongly on a shirt. I vaguely knew this person, who was called Wiltshire but the player at the time was of course Wilkshire.
  18. Yes the shirt has a lot of red on it which I guess the purists don’t like. I actually like it but can fully understand why people wouldn’t. The red really stands out, is a very dominant colour. Loads of Bristol Bear flags were given out last night too, white on blue and blue on white. I was almost expecting to see something with red on too
  19. I think the shirts were only available from yesterday, saw loads of people who had been in the shop though with bags full of items. I didn’t go in there as it was rammed, as was everywhere. The fan village I had to walk through twice which was impossible, the queues in the concourses for drinks were as long as I’ve ever seen and more. Staff were working flat out, the club must have took an absolute fortune last night. What a great atmosphere too. Just like our football team we look to have some hardworking players. I got the feeling that Bath felt they only had to turn up but they came across a very determined Bristol side who were certainly not going to let that happen. Yes we had to defend, and were on the ropes a bit just before our player was binned but when he returned we just got stronger. The try we scored was just infr9ntbof me so I was well happy. Nice to see some of our football players there too, sat just behind me. Brownhill, Hegeler, Bailey, Scotty Murray, and Frankie to name a few.
  20. Not too busy inside yet as people still in concourses. They are packed
  21. Absolutely rammed outside, and the queues in th concourses too. Giving out thousands of flags. In other news have seen Scotty M and Frankie F here..frankie must be getting kicking tips ?
  22. It’s very, very different. I’m 2 seasons in and been to nearly every home game and I’m still staggered at the differences. Actually it was The Bristol v Bath game that was pretty much the only game I missed during that time, and that was only because I was still up in Newcastle after watching us play. Main differences: fans aren’t segregated at all. Hardly any singing except for ‘Bristol, Bristol’ now and again. Fans are up and out from their seats only to get more cider and go to the toilet, this is constant during the match. Rarely do they jump to their feet for anything else, eg scoring. In fact I have found that rugby fans don’t seem to concentrate on the match like football fans do, they are chatting and drinking and most of the time the match just seems to be going on in the background. Very different from my football experience where each players every move is willed on or groaned at (sometimes in sympathy and sometimes in frustration). There is a lot less clapping players efforts and jumping to your feet at key moments. There is total silence when a try is being converted, that applys for both teams as unlike football you don’t try to intimidate the opposition. Hopefully some of the edgyness of a football derby will happen tonight, as if fans don’t get to their feet during a Bristol v Bath rugby match they never will. I do like rugby, but i will never feel the same passion for it as football, it’s just so different.
  23. And to be fair QPR’s Stand is easy to look full and cramped with no view isn’t it, you don’t have to have many fans in there to do that.
