OK, I admit there is a problem.

Yesterday the new majority owner of Dwane Sports Ltd was inspecting progress at the south end of the ground when the investment inexplicably slipped out of his back pocket and fell into one of the piling holes. Despite strenuous efforts made by our team of retired maintenance staff the investment has yet to be recovered and concerns are mounting that at such depths it could have completely imploded.

You are quite correct.

The plateau on which the Memorial Ground pitch sits was formed through infilling the existing land with waste material from the South Wales coal pits. Whether this provides a suitable base to carry the weight of a steel grandstand with 3500 people perched inside must be open to question.

The provisional wing of ARRRSE ( Alton Road Residents Resisting Stadium Enlargement) are poised to step up their JUST STOP WAEL campaign.

Before Saturdays friendly against Chesterfield they plan to invade the pitch and throw orange powder over the players.

And after the game Mr Al-Quidi plans to throw Gorringe under a bus.

The football club, Memorial Stadium and training ground were offered for sale as a package at the start of 2022 but during the course of the year no buyers were found. I understand the price was gradually reduced until it reached a figure amounting to just over half the Dwane Sports Ltd mortgage charge but still no takers.

So now we are going for broke.

A leaking question.

Has the cash raised through the Nationwide Finance loan been ring fenced for the new stand or is it being used to pay day to day running expenses ?

October 28th, the Memorial Stadium Bristol's premier sports venue, an exciting game against Northampton Town.

Seats in the new South Stand are hard to come by but if you are lucky enough to secure a ticket then in the adjoining subterranean concourse corridor food court you'll find a nice selection of baked alaskas.

As a registered charity, Bristol Rovers Community Trust are able to offer exciting post-16 courses which combine academic studies with a sporting experience.

        Mayor survives five years trapped behind football ground

“I’m lucky to still be ere” said the Mayor after being rescued from the “living hell” of spending five years trapped behind a football stadium project.  

His journey had started out over a convivial gin & tonic with successful property magnet Craig Cheever-Loophole who was anxious to transform a run down urban area into a thriving commercial hub whilst eliminating another gaping eyesore which had tarnished the City’s landscape since 1998.  

But after stumbling over a statement concerning the configuration of a football club and it’s need for a sustainable future the Mayor became trapped face down in a pile of promises with his desperate cries for help going unheard.   

Fortunately, just as time was running out, he was rescued by the shareholders of a small plc who revolted and told their management to forget about engaging with eccentric minority groups and concentrate on making them money.

The Mayor has now fully recovered from his ordeal and says in future he will be careful to avoid dangerous hotspots such as the end of Alton Road.

The new South Stand concourse will be 17 ft wide and 220 ft long.

Admittedly third hand information but I'm told the capacity of the stand could be limited to approximately 1400 until permission is granted which may take up to a year and even then would not necessarily be for the requested number. Any breach of the safety certificate requirements could well result in the services of Mr Csoka being called upon.

Meanwhile up at Horfield they are starting construction of the new Bristol Rovers wing

You must allow authorised officers to inspect your sports ground and take copies of your records at any reasonable time.

Failure to comply with the safety certificate requirements may result in a fine and/or imprisonment for up to two years.
