Fair play to her. And even worse of Gormridge and Wael for not addressing this at all publicly. They’re so cowardly it’s unbelievable.
Can’t run a club and seemingly can’t even treat human beings properly either. Hope it comes home to roost for them next summer when they don’t go up, and them being hugely over budget this season comes back to bite them.
Alf Saeed thought Rovers would be a nice plaything for young Abdullatif but the more he delves into it the more he realises what a mess he's landed himself with.
What if it turns out he's not such a lovely bloke as Mr Al-Quidi and decides to liquidate ?

Sorry? Who could have built? When their Chairman suggested a super stadium there in the 60's he made it clear that it was going to need to be funded by the Greyhound Company and "local businesses" if it was to work. The "temporary" bus shelter they are building right now is the closest they got to ever paying for something permanent with their own money in the last 100 years.
It’s been financed with a secured loan from Nationwide. Finance Ltd.
If Alf Saeed is extremely wealthy why hasn’t he paid that off or refinanced at a lower rate than 12% ?

Penny has finally dropped with a few, but there are still the bell ends like this creature (calls itself amgas);
"Not sure why people think lack of planning permission will stop us using it - once it is finished bums will be on the seats. None of the small stands people have been sitting in over recent weeks have planning permission".
I believe "amgas" is the nom de plume of Mr Al-Quidi himself.
"Finnished bums will be on the seats" is a well known phrase in Amman as well as Helsinki.

Further up the pages there is some confusion about the role of the secretary which I hope I can clarify.
The company secretary deals with corporate governance and is responsible for filing relevant documents at Companies House.
The club secretary deals with football matters and is responsible for filing relevant documents with the football authorities.
The personal secretary deals with personal matters and is responsible for keeping senior management satisfied.
As an example of the latter I've inserted a 1957 vintage photograph of my own personal secretary Marjorie receiving the news that I was on my way back from Liverpool with a point in the bag.

We kept all that behind closed doors in my day.

Apparently Rovers had 2 hours to get what they needed to done so
a) why wasn’t everything in place to assume it would be a yes to save time
or
b) if you’re running close to the deadline and as Barton put it ‘seconds out’ then why not submit an extension form to the EFL/FA that allows you a little extra time so long an agreement is in place
Because the lady acting as Rovers club secretary has no experience in football.
She runs her own business providing HR services to small companies in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and S Wales.

They clearly just do not get that regardless what the greens may or may have done, the reason for the complete fudge up is due to the club completely disregarding the due legal planning process in producing the bare minimum documentation for such a development and then expecting it to fly through planning without any scrutiny. The fact they appear to have also commenced some form of construction is nothing short of contempt of the whole planning system. If BCC let this fly, I would imagine there could be a case for a judicial review
A few weeks ago I jokingly posted about ARRRSE (Alton Road Residents Resisting Stadium Enlargement) just for a bit of fun.
But it's actually now come to pass that there is a group of articulate and motivated local residents which is determined to make sure the Council follow the planning regulations to the letter of the law. These people are mainly non-political and not connected to the Green Party so Rovers trying to shove all the blame in that direction is another howler which will more than likely backfire.

Well it is confusing when we were told young Alf is a director of a professional football club in Kuwait but he doesn’t mention this on his LinkedIn profile.https://kw.linkedin.com/in/abdullatif-alsaeed-006535b7

Imagine they were to build without permission and say **** the council and someone had a injury whilst no safety cert in place
Our liability insurers would walk away leaving Mr Gorringe and Mr Al-Quidi to face the music.
Alf Saeed is lurking in the background but he's not currently an officer of the company.

He probably thought it was as true. Unfortunately some people have equivalent memory of a goldfish. I’m old enough to remember when Rovers actually had a good team that could compete in Division 2 (the equivalent of the Championship). Their current squad might be the best in the last 5 years or so, but that’s not saying very much.
Thank You- 1

The letter of the club’s president read: “The past four days have been tough for us all and I have seen first-hand that there is a division within the fanbase which is not what we want heading into a new season.
“Firstly, I think it is really important to confirm that as a club we stand firmly against any form of violence.
“Any individual that is found guilty of any such offenses will be dismissed immediately.

Bristol Rovers have signed forward Jevani Brown on a two-year deal following his release by Exeter City.
The 28-year-old was suspended by the Grecians in February and has not played since after being charged with assaulting two women.
He admitted one charge in March and is awaiting trial on the second, which he denies, in July.

By Arab standards, Jordan is relatively democratic, free and prosperous. If you trying to shoehorn some sort of comparison between Wael's backing of Rovers and the Saudi bankrolling of Newcastle, then you are misguided and misinformed.
People are malnourished and lack food in the UK. Are you suggesting that countries that receive money from UK investors should reconsider?
You mean more democratic, free and prosperous than Kuwait ?

Isn't it about more than tax loopholes though ?
There are bread riots in Jordan, tens of thousands are living in squalor in refugee camps and the government has just passed a law allowing them to imprison those who protest about corruption amongst the country's elite.
So in these circumstances wouldn't the supporters of an upstanding Jordanian citizen who has chosen to spend £30 million on a third division football club in a faraway land while his fellow countrymen starve be best advised to keep quiet about it ?

I wasn’t aware of @slartibartfast’s existence until a couple of years ago.
We arranged to meet, however, and whilst I didn’t recognise him at first as he wasn’t wearing his hat, he turned out to be quite a nice chap.
Didn't Slarti poke you in the eye with a Wills Whiff ?
