  1. Every day of the week. I despise Cardiff but they have achieved far more than us in the SL era & what would they be swapping it for? A cup run & nearly making the playoffs a few times since 2008.. Hull are a mess & possibly heading back to L1 but I’m not sure they would swap for the 2 seasons they had in The Prem, either.
  2. Basically O’Dowda & a load of kids.
  3. Protocol from the head injury at WBA, must have been a bad one.
  4. True. Aside from James who has started them all, King & HNM have both started 7, Bakinson 5 & Williams 3. No one is either staying fit long enough or playing well enough to get a partnership going with James.
  5. No one is saying in this thread that he is, just that he’s been out injured a while & when he might be back. I actually don’t think that central defence is our biggest issue, Kalas is excellent, Atkinson has done well overall, Baker is an experienced option & Vyner a useful squad man. Getting a settled midfield in front of them is the bigger issue for me.
  6. More importantly though, do we believe this? It was Cardiff super fan Gabbidon & some Sky commentator who said it & I have never heard this reported before. My recollection was Pearson basically said the ones he wanted were ones he couldn’t afford (to slightly misquote Morrissey) whereas these two were claiming he’d vetoed some done deal. I must admit I had my doubts earlier on when Gabbidon said that he couldn’t believe HNM wasn’t starting because he was our most creative player, which aside from the fact that Fleming had explained beforehand they were looking to manage his workload over 3 games (as he’s running 11km per game) was the comment of someone who knows very little about us. Stick to Pobol Y Cym, Danny (& it was 2-1 Weimann with both, by the way)..
  7. Hard to base it on much seeing as to how little he’s played, but I think Williams can play this role & maybe in light of his injury issues, it might be best for him to do so when fit? If he can then stay fit & King returns as a squad option, then I think we’ll look a better side, not perfect but with enough to avoid the bottom five or six.
  8. Pretty sure Weimann had it under control when he scored his second v Barnsley. Or was it when Scott was tripped v Forest and a blatant penalty wasn’t given? Some embarrassing lack of perspective on here.
  9. In the league it was Norwich at home (Wells missed it), we’ve had one since in the Cup v Millwall (Diedhiou scored).
  10. Yep & I thought we played well v Forest (far better than against Barnsley) but the last 2 minutes completely took away any perspective on the performance. There is yet another comment in the post you replied to about “luck”. This is such bollocks, as I posted before in the Forest game we were denied a clear penalty at 1-0 up (a whole year since we had one now) & their winner was a blatant handball. “Luck” definitely goes both ways.
  11. Would have thought he’d feature for the 23s when fit as it’s been a long layoff & he will need some game time. During the international break, maybe?
  12. What are you basing that fanciful theory on? We have played 16 league games so far, Dasilva has featured in 15 of them, which would suggest Nige does see him as an important member of his 18 on that evidence. Palmer or O’Dowda maybe, but not Dasilva based on this.
  13. Derby have actually accumulated far more points than Barnsley once you take the deduction into account. With Reading also about to suffer one, Hull struggling big time, Cardiff gaining 1 point from the last 30 available (ha ha) & Peterborough not good, this is the branch I’m clinging on to..
  14. If you play for an hour a man short against a side packed with ex Prem players who were already 2-0 up you will always be in trouble. From our point of view defeats for Derby, Hull & Cardiff were very good news.
  15. If Eliasson is so good why is he currently with a French second division team?
  16. I actually think Dasilva has been ok, not a world beater but ok. His availability record this season has been decent, too. I’m not as convinced as others about him defensively (he got a chasing from Jordan Graham first half last night) but at the time we bought him £2m was relatively little. I’d rather see him playing in front of Pring or Baker but am not about to write him off. I’m struggling with the comment above about the 3 Chelsea players though, Palmer has been a flop, but for me Kalas certainly has not & at 23 I’m not giving up on Dasilva yet.
  17. Blimey, as Fevs has said all about opinions but to me they both flatter to deceive, in fact O’Dowda has never nailed down a regular place in 5 years under 3 different managers with us & whilst I do think he could have had more opportunities this season, that is more down to the paucity of options rather than to him. Palmer is also someone that his last 3 managers at club level have consistently chosen not to pick & who was ditched at international level by Jamaica after 1 game & I think that says it all.
  18. Let’s start by going back to 4-4-1-1, we were in games then. We do need a number of those injured players back, especially in midfield. We need to be prepared to try something different up front, either Wells & Weimann or one of these two with the likes of Semenyo, Bell or Conway. We need to be far harder to break down & score against.
  19. Think it appears that in the cases of Palmer & O’Dowda having seen them in action he is attempting to freeze them out & hope they will move on (even on loan) in January. We will never know if he would have kept Paterson if these 2 were also OoC at the same time but for all the clamour from a few now my recollection is Walsh (who by the way has done absolutely nothing at Swansea so far) was the one that most people wanted to stay, not Paterson. Don’t get the Vyner business, maybe he wanted to see a bit more from him in training? Possibly last night’s selection was “needs must”? As a versatile, relatively low wage player, he would have always been in my 18.
  20. Happens to a lot, it happens to others after they leave or retire.
  21. Certainly makes sense to give Martin a rest, though I won’t be putting any money on it happening. Presumably it is down to the absence of Williams & King but don’t understand why we have moved away from the 4-4-1-1 which at least looked like a plan & we were often in games. I would revert to this with Weimann & Wells as the front two at Coventry (but I doubt we will).
  22. I doubt it will happen but we could do far worse than switch Zak there in this instance. Defensively more aware than HNM or Tyreeq & if Baker is back we are well stocked with defensive options.
  23. My view too but I’d bet my house he’ll be left out at Coventry based on his comments afterwards. Expect him & Wells to be dropped.
