  1. Based on their FFP cheating criminal Russian backed success, they probably see them as rivals.
  2. To answer the OP, not really. James has been good, with an availability record others don’t remotely match. King is a useful squad man, if HNM & Williams were fit (& the latter now looks like experiencing another lay off) then he’d be a sub at best. When you then look at his last 2 seasons & the fact we only thought him worth a year after a short trial, he’s done fine. I do find this Paterson revisionism after yesterday pretty hilarious, the consensus on here (but certainly not my view) in the summer was we were glad to get shot & Golden Boy Liam Walsh (how’s that going?) would be a big miss..
  3. Totally. Late on Kalas got in two excellent blocks, Tanner (who rallied after a tough first half) put in a good tackle on the edge of the penalty area then Weimann, who ran himself into the ground again yesterday, managed to get back to put in a great defensive challenge, got up to win a second tackle then kicked it clear. All the while Bakinson stood by the side of him offering no support whatsoever. I’ve seen enough now to be honest, he doesn’t work anywhere near hard enough.
  4. Exactly what I would do if both HNM & King are unavailable. I would give Weimann & Wells a go up top, but not sure if I’d choose Scott, Palmer or O’Dowda as the third man in midfield.
  5. Until we are sure on the injury situation with HNM & King (as I think we can all safely assume that Williams is out) then really the midfield part of the side v Forest is just educated guesswork. If they are all missing, that only leaves James & Bakinson as natural central midfielders & as in my view the latter is a total liability then it becomes a real issue. Controversial as it might appear, in that case I’d rather put Vyner in alongside James & play either Scott, Palmer or O’Dowda as the third man (it follows we would have to go to a back 3/5 if we are so short). Time will tell.
  6. The answer appears to be almost nothing. Get used to us having to maximise what we currently have, unless someone is foolish enough to take Palmer, O’Dowda or Wells off our hands.
  7. Whilst I agree with the OP, we were at home so I don’t see our role in this. Apparently Bournemouth’s second kit is white anyway, so why they chose to wear this colour is all on them.
  8. He completed the previous game. Absolute nonsense.

    O’Dowda

Really can’t work him out. He just ambles around & one excellent defence splitting pass aside, it was like having 9 men when King went off. Be amazed if he starts v Forest, even if Williams (a certainty), HNM & King are all absent. Said it on another thread I’d much rather have Vyner in the squad than him, he just doesn’t work hard enough.
  10. King? How many games has he missed so far through injury? One?

    Kalas

Cahill will be 36 soon, Kalas is a better long term bet. No one else we have gets close, but accept it is just opinions.
  12. Never heard of parachute payments? They cheated FFP to get to the Prem based on their dodgy Russian money, trust me, it makes a lot of difference.

    Kalas

Absolutely fantastic. On today’s performance the only player who would get in their side.
  14. It made sense to me if Weimann went wide right but within 5 minutes of Wells coming on we abandoned that & Nakhi was asked to tuck in ahead of Tanner, which was just ridiculous. Might as well have brought on Scott or Palmer if that was the case. I accept Bakinson came on at a tough time but he offers us virtually nothing, one smart pass aside he was a total passenger (again). There was one bit near the end when Weimann charged down a shot then got up & managed to get a tackle in & clear the ball, Bakinson just stood & watched him throughout. I’d rather see Vyner in the squad than him.
  15. Yep. I saw a few people posting on Twitter this morning that today would be the day we got that win & wondered what planet they’re on. Bournemouth are top, the only unbeaten side & have a wage bill that due to parachute payments completely dwarfs ours. When you then lose 2 players to injury & play 20 minutes a man light you have absolutely no chance.

    O’Dowda

Agree, I actually thought he was our only outlet (one brilliant cross) & assumed he came off because he had a knock. Martin wasn’t great but gets isolated in the games we struggle. Much as I like King I thought he was struggling big time even before he pulled up & should have come off before him. One of those days when a lot went wrong but to pin it on O’Dowda is ridiculous.
  17. Unless we are playing games it looks like HNM isn’t available today.
  18. Think that’s Clive Whitehead, mate. Definitely Tainton with Sir Geoffrey, I find myself getting pretty emotional at that photo & also the one of the Sween & TV Tom. Bloody legends, I should say so..
  19. Been covered before, he lost his Mum around that time.
  20. Bob is from the very end of the era when players related to fans and vice versa. He is an absolute Baggies legend & one down here, too. Lumsden’s decision to sell him (to replace him with you know who!) was amongst the worst of the last 30 years (& there have been plenty of bad ones) on a par with not putting a sell on clause in the Andy Cole deal a few years earlier. Great to see him looking so well, it would be lovely to see him in BS3 when we face WBA.
  21. I wondered if it was Vyner & Nige had misremembered that he was actually on the bench for the last game in the absence of Baker & Dasilva because he wasn’t there himself. With the greatest of respect to Janneh or Cundy I would be very surprised if they expected to be involved.
  22. Pretty sure we won it 1-0? Think Biff might have scored? I certainly remember that I had an almighty hangover.
  23. Rovers 3-0 2nd May ‘90, which meant they won the league & we didn’t. Rovers 4-0 two seasons later, Cole & Dziekanowski did absolutely nothing for 90 minutes, it was like playing with 9 men. In the 82/3 season when we were bottom of the entire league at Xmas, I missed only 2 games, one was the aforementioned 7-1 defeat at Northampton, but I did see a 4-1 defeat at Crewe just before that was truly ******* awful.
  24. How splendid to see AD (87 years young) looking so well. As GT would of course say, top man.
