He gets bashed because he’s constantly acting like a child’ are you really happy with a senior member of the club constantly bullshiting and basically lying.

Fair enough, but I don't see much evidence that he's always lying, although that's the general consensus on here.  He's a legend to me, and I say that even though I don't believe he has the skill or technical ability for the role he's currently at.  But I don't blame him for trying to succeed at the role, if that's his burning ambition, I'll respect it.

Watched city for close to 35 years now’ really don’t get how some people think he’s a club legend’ he played mainly in the 3 rd division for us ‘ he was a good 3rd division player’ there are plenty of other players who genuinely deserve legendary status’ not Tinnion.

Winning goal at Anfield?  His number of appearances for the club?  One of the key parts of an incredible promotion winning team, with a crossing ability that could tear teams to shreds and create loads of chances for Goater and Cramb?

He's absolutely a club legend, the level he played at doesn't matter because that was usually our level anyway!

He was my fave player during the 90's and must have assisted over 100 goals. I don't have the stat but it could well be higher!

  3. Christ, give the guy a break, he tries to post something positive and gets derided for it.

Spreading positive energy is a good thing, this place has too many cruel people who love to jump on his back.

He had a fall out with Nigel Pearson, these things happen, it doesn't mean he's evil or something.

BT loves Bristol City, like we do, and he has limitations to his talent, but why the constant need to bash him?

And as for mocking the grammar of his tweet, well that's just poor form, he's not trying to compose quality literary content, it's meant to be a quick read, something simple to digest.

  4. Was wondering the same thing, but I'm guessing that Kompany will want to stay in the top tier, presuming someone wants him.  The strange thing is why it has took them so long to play the way they are now, if they had played with the same level of verve and cutting edge throughout the season, then they would be safe by now.

Their final match is against Forest, which could be a relegation play off!

Is Bird not the likely replacement of James?

‘Central 3’ of Bird, Knight and Twine (possibly)

Wow, if those 3 all linked up well, we could be taking teams apart for fun next season

I was wondering what yesterday would've been like for him.  Achieved promotion and then out celebrating with your team mates when you know you won't be playing alongside them next year.  Must've been a bit odd.

I guess it proves the value in the deal Derby struck.  Would they have got promoted had he not stayed there until the end of the season?

Yeah was thinking that also, bet there's a part of him wishing he was staying for their campaign next season.  Derby's season might have crumbled without him!

  7. What will next season hold for this guy?  Is he gonna be ready to make a difference straight away or is he going to take a while to adapt?

TBH, I don't know much about him, but with all the talk of signing Twine, will they both fit into the team?  Do we need them both?

  8. You say "well done the board (in jest)", but funny thing is we don't have a board!  It's just two men who know almost nothing about running a succesful club and an owner who doesn't seem to care anymore, even though his name's on the bloody biggest stand!

Personally I'd like to see a board made up with OTIB members, for me I'd go for Exiled Ajax,DaveF and Silvio Dante join the board, with Mr Pop running the finance side! Come on guys, make it happen!

  9. I know you're a genuine City fan, but for me what you've said is strange, as the pull to watch your club is usually stronger than not enjoying the odd game here or there and blaming it on the gaffer's style of play.

It is crap sometimes, perhaps like today, I didn't go.  But the Blackburn and Leicester games were fantastic, enjoyed them both.

I bet you ten grand you'll be back to watch games next season!

  10. Out of all our former players still in the game, who would you have back?

Scott, Semenyo, Kelly, Webster, or even going back to Reid, Bryan, Flint, Pack, Bentley, if you could tempt one back who would it be?

I know Scott is the obvious, but I would love to see Bobby return to his roots and bang in a load of goals for us again.

    Any other options, or choices?

And now if you were gonna go crazy for a moment, which player from the past?  Now that's a tough question!!

  11. But the opposing player obviously used a Bruce Lee style old-school karate technique and touched him with a feint finger of death that can almost render a man unconscious or paralysed with the slightest, barely visible moment of contact.

Poor sod Ben White is lucky to be alive.

Quite a few football players have this very dangerous talent, beware!

As the question didn't specify "UK club", I give you my German club, Union Berlin!

No owner other than the 60k plus members all paying our monthly sub. Playing top flight Bundesliga for the last 5 years, last 3 in Europe too (Champions League this season).

It can be done without billionaire owners.

Wow I would kill to have that model in place here, if you were a member you could claim to be one of the many owners of the club!  Let's do it, let's buy City!

Thanks for all responses, makes for fascinating reading!

  13. This question has always interested me, especially with the suggestions on here that SL should sell up, but what happens if he decides he doesn't want to be the owner, this isn't for him, and there's no one else waiting to buy the club?

Is it too simple to suggest that would be the end of the club, or not just City, but any other football club in that circumstance?

Does the FA have any plan in place to prevent that sort of thing?  I find it amazing to think that there are that many wealthy groups/ syndicates / individuals willing to pump so much money into owning football clubs, without having the guarantee of making significant returns on their huge outlay.  They all open themselves up to the possibility of being abused or villified, losing tonnes of cash, and must all be a little bit bonkers!

Football club owners, I salute you!

  14. Unfortunately SL seems quite happy to let the club meander along the river of the Championship, growing each year in small ways, providing expensive and sometimes decent football in a nice, modern, quiet stadium, that offers the occasional brilliant game amongst a sea of sub-standard football, and one day his ownership might take us to the Premier League, at this rate in about 15 years, in which case he probably won't be around to see it anyway and Ryan Reynold's Wrexham would have won the Premier League at least three times by then, so what's the bloody point?

I wish they would speed the whole thing up, chuck a little bit of Luton magic at it.

Oh, if only we had Tony Bloom, or the Brentford owner, although I don't actually know who that is!

I like SL, just wish he woke up one day and realised this club would be freaking huge in the top tier.

What about playing our own young players? We’ve just signed three of them for next season!

Yep, that also sounds good to me!  I like nothing better than seeing City youngsters breaking into the first team, but if we could spruce that up with some Premier League trained talent, I'm all for it!
