God I hope Steve Cotteril doesn't go for this job. I've always had a morbid fear that he may hold such a grudge against the club's hierarchy for making a pigs ear of his Summer transfer business, that he might be tempted to manage the Gas as some form of twisted revenge. Hope I'm wrong and SC isn't a bitter man.

Are you seeing this SL
Seeing what? You aren't comparing Lee to Daryl are you? You are an embarrassment to the forum.

Why is Wilder so light? I can't work out how a man who stands at 6ft 6" can weigh just 2 pounds more than me, at 6ft.2 Surely he is going to be dominated by Tyson Fury?
I love Fury to bits and believe he is going to beat Wilder. The Bomb Squad will be diffused!

Looking forward to today: Saturday Afternoon football, no sky red button, tenner a ticket, my first chance to see Max in goal, all in all feeling positive on the back of 2 wins ... so with that all said it's bound to be a bloody loss.
Not really though, come on City, let's get another win, 1-0 again?

Absolutely, still learning on the job, but that will have done him more good than the Takam and Parker fights combined.
He is an accumulative puncher rather than a ko artist, but you can see him growing as a boxer by the fight.
Astounding to think, like you say and he often admits, he's still learning on the job and developing, yet at the same time he is beating every guy he faces. Apart from Wilder and Fury, there aren't any other heavyweights who can trouble him (and I don't even see Fury causing him trouble).

He did very well AJ against a real world class heavyweight. I like it that AJ is a bit lighter now. He has better stamina and slightly better movement because of it. Povetkin really gave him some problems.
Yeah the weight is better suited for him, he is a lot more mobile and still packs his phenomenal power. I wonder where AJ will rank on all-time greatest heavyweights when he is done and dusted. He doesn't seem to have many weaknesses.

Wow didn't see that coming!
Prior to that KO I was about to write that AJ might lose this one, and it would set up for a top rematch. AJ knocked him out before I could save the post!

Sounds like AJ turned that right round and devastated Povetkin with his finishing power.
-
Game Over, AJ has it, job done! Well done
-
Listening on Talksport, never done that for a boxing match before, Povetkin sounds like he is causing AJ all sorts of problems.

Up until the goal this was the most negative match thread in the history of OTIB!

This looks like a tense 1-1, or a cagey 0-0, as both teams try to keep it tight and offer little hope of grabbing a winning goal.
Saying that, someone will probably win 6-4 in one of the most open Championship games to be seen.
Here's hoping it's us.
COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSS
If it rains, does the wally still use a brolly on the side lines?

The match thread is back with all its usual charm and wit. Thank God and his son for that.
A win today looks on the cards, I'll go for a 1-0 win with our Bobby dazzler scoring again.
City to follow up with a 2-0 win over Brentford!
-
What a game today - the chance to bury any lingering Leeds play offs hopes and put ourselves level on points with Fulham - thus restoring a bit of gap between us and Preston.
I really fancy a 2-0 City win today and back the boys to deliver.
COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Massively excited to see Kent play some part of today's game.
-
Come on you reds - at it from the first whistle.
2-1 win today.
-
Got a feeling it'll be a goal scoring draw today, 2-2.
Saying that I could then see Flint scoring another late winner to bag a 3-2 win.
COME ON YOU REDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME ON HULL CITY, hope you snatch a win in Wales.
-
COME ON CITY - and I salute all you hardy souls who have travelled to the game today.

Fascinating read as always Havana, thought-provoking and somewhat disconcerting. How far and wide does the influence of the Russian wealth spread?
Today I fear a close game with City losing by the odd goal. To me, based on our recent form and key injuries, this just seems like a typical game we will lose.
Hoping to be wrong come 4.50.

This thread is definitely my guilty pleasure, and those 4 ugly mugs have almost caused me to die with laughter.

We have the chance to win. SW is a good team, we are also good. Always believe, COYR!!!
Yes indeed - COYR!!!

COME ON CITY, BRING HOME THE 3 POINTS.
I can see a 2-1 City win with Reid and Flint scoring. I would also accept a draw.
COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Go on LJ, let's do it. Go on SL, bring back the points.
-
COME ON YOU REDSSSS, GET YOURSELVES INTO THE TOP 6 AND DAMN WELL STAY THERE!
Expecting City to scrape a 1-0 win, thanks to a bundled ball over the line, probably off of Flint or Diedhou's backside in the 71st minute.
-
1-1 draw, but I'd take a loss fair and square on the chin as long as we don't get duffed up too badly. Bet you haven't heard anyone say 'duffed up' for a while, eh?
COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
