Ah yes. They did used to have a little tent stand there as well didn't they.

It must be their thing. I can't think of many/any other clubs that have such an affinity with tents.

The only time we had a "tent" at Twerton was when some idiots burnt down the Grandstand, so a temporary stand, with a canvas roof, had to erected on part of the Bristol end terrace to accommodate the displaced fans.

Is this true, if so they're both scum of the lowest order. I don't give a shiney shit about them ripping of the squatters , but pretending to be disabled is low even for a gAss.

Surprised to read about that. There is quite a strict criteria for getting disabled tickets. A friend of mine had to produce documentation to show that she was registered as being disabled, plus a current letter from her Dr confirming that she needed a carer to help her attend games.

The idea that the Rovers can be successful by catering for fans looking for "nostalgia" seems a bit odd. We've been in our home for over 100 years where as they've been at the rugby stadium for about 15 years.

"Nostalgia" - as in getting soaking wet standing on the terraces, wading through urine to use bogs that don't flush, queueing for 20 minutes to buy a burnt pasty, listening to a tannoy system that is either uninteligable or deafens you, etc etc.

I originally thought the guy with the Liverpool jacket on had a really sh1t pony tail to complete his look, but it seems that hair belongs to a woman behind him.

Still looks like a top bloke though.

Thought the same - had to scroll back and have another look. Bad idea - there are some things that you just can't unsee!:shocking:

Yes, they were in there and would probably stayed undetected EXCEPT a couple of them paniced and ran for the Dolman/ EE exit ! What a mistake-a-to make-a. The lucky ones scaled the gates, the unlucky ones never made it that far!      sigh... different times....different life.

How would you rate the EE with regard to difficulty for other fans to take it, back in the day? I remember reading in a book that Arsenal fans got a nasty surprise, and came out a lot quicker than they went in.

From memory, the EE had a tight, compact feeling, which created an intimidating environment.

Rovers fans fighting amongst themselves in the South Stand today to.

So much for 'the best fans' in the world

If you knew the demographic of those who sit in the Tent, you'd realise how hilarious your post it.

A few Barrow fans overdid it on the ale, and were a bit lairy in their block - nothing to see, move on.

I thought they had to build a car park this month at UWE otherwise they will have to reapply for planning permission.

    Tick tock

Work had to start on the site this month in order to retain the planning permission, the car park is first on the agenda, so a few diggers have been active for the last couple of weeks.

Q&A session with Wael + the Chairman tonight. I'm not expecting to learn anything new at the moment, usual soundbites and everybody will go home happy.

    Family club at it again!

As for on the pitch they're only four points off relegation, division's tighter than a ducks backside. So I wouldn't be getting over excited yet if I were them!

Final thought, all these penaltys and red card decisions(that red card was pretty dubious yesterday I thought) I'm shocked the Telegraph haven't popped over to the Mem yet!

Linesman had just taken over the whistle from the original ref, who had pulled a muscle or something. People think that's a can of line spray tucked into the rear of his shorts, maybe it's a roll of dodgey £50's. :fear:

How old is Weal ? Mid 40s? So when he was a young teenager Rovers were forced to move to Bath because they struggling to get crowds of over 5000 at Eastville.

He may well have been supporting Chelsea when we played them for the final time in Division Two of the old Football League. No doubt we took the Shed End in the away game, and he's never forgotten how we travel in numbers!

Far too intellectual for the average Rovers fan, who is probably sat at home picking left over spaghetti hoops off of his T-shirt and rubbing their groin over Louis Walsh whilst watching X-factor on catch up.

Ooops - must remember to switch my web-cam off in future!

    Course it was.

Strange your forum says that your "fans" were slagging off your new goalie Roos as well, bet that abuse was meant for the ref too, eh?

Yes it was - one fan on Radio Bristol said it was aimed at the team, maybe he was not situated at the tunnel end of the ground.

Several idiots started chanting "Mildenhall" when the 2nd goal went in - of course, that was really going to boost the young lad's confidence wasn't it - they are idiots.  He got lots of calls of "Roooooos" when he handled the ball, unfortunately not everybody is familiar with the "Luuuuuuuke" support which golfer Luke Donald gets, so didn't get the gist of it. I am sure that Roos did though, as he probably would have had the same chant at previous clubs.

When our fans are idiots, I have no problem in saying so. Similarly, when something has been misinterpreted or mis-reported, and I was at the game, I'll also say what I saw/heard.

Rovers booed off at half time according to their fans on radio Bristol. Disgusting that once again our fans are clearly infiltrating the Mem and making it seem that the 'loyal and Prowed' Gas are not the best fans in the world after all.

It was the Ref who got booed off, not the players.

The Sainsburys charge is against Bristol Rovers (1883) Limited and shown as still outstanding: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/04501223/charges

The accounts appear to be filed correctly but the confirmation statement (the new 'annual return' - just a minor piece of admin work) is showing as overdue: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/04501223

Cheers for that - my finance expertise is limited to the price of handbags and shoes!

I've been bored (waiting for a meeting)

so been having a noise on the companies house website,

I see Rovers accounts are overdue and they haven't settled Sainsburys legal bill yet (also overdue), surely with their Billionaire owner (who is the only family member registered) these should of been tied up long ago (like ours have been),

Maybe the rumours that they have no cash are true

Not sure what you are looking at - the Companies House website shows:-

    Accounts

Next accounts made up to 30 June 2016
    due by 31 March 2017

    7 charges registered
    0 outstanding, 7 satisfied, 0 part satisfied

Apart from a few weeks, the accounts currently filed cover the final period of Higgs ownership, so, except for the Wonga loan being paid off, we won't see any hard evidence of what the new owners have done until accounts are filed in March 2017.

I'm no expert on financial matters, so, if I'm looking in the wrong place, please enlighten me!

The game stopped in the 60th minute i.e. fractionally before an hour had been played - however that's not really the point. The club should do the decent thing rather than hide behind the letter of the law.

Would you be happy to pay again having paid once for a match that was ultimately null and void, having watched only two-thirds?

Incidentally does anyone know if we had to pay again after the floodlight failure against Liverpool?!

From memory, the tickets were really cheap for the re-arranged game.
