Just putting it out there… I’m still well behind Nige if we lose tomorrow. We backed unproven managers to the hilt, it’s time to afford the same treatment to Nige.

Absolutely. Bristol Live posted an article few days ago saying that fans are starting to turn and Saturdays game is ‘do or die’.

Im still enjoying this season far more than the last couple, albeit starting from a very low base!

It was obvious that Lloyd Kelly was a class act just a few games into his career at City but that’s not what Towler has shown in few games hes played for City.

His loan spell will give ‘miles on the clock’ and he may return the better for it but based on what I saw in the few games he featured for us I seriously doubt it.

He’s nowhere near the quality of Kelly - if he were then he’d be a starter every match.

I agree with that but I’m not sure what your reply has to do with my post?

Yes - which worries me because you have to be supremely talented to be that laid back and not put a foot wrong.

I'd much prefer Towler to make better use of his size, e.g. be more like Nathan Baker (a fit one) than Lloyd Kelly. He might learn to physically impose himself on opponents but - as a converted midfielder - I'm not sure he's a warrior centre half at heart.

Tell that to Chris Martin! Lloyd Kelly won almost every header against Martin

  4. Good to see you back @Harry

My gut feeling was that a head of recruitment was being looked at in the summer, quite possibly Steve Walsh, but I believe he is currently in a job. When no one was appointed, I assumed that was because the people we were after, weren’t available or didn’t want to come, but the hunt remained.

When the Bristol Post story came out last week about the data guys, it did feel like a PR stunt by the club,

Do you think we are actually after anyone for that role?

Do you know what, I don’t think Korey was either.  Korey was a “rat”, sniffing out trouble anywhere in midfield, tended to play higher than Pack who screened (under Johnson) the CBs.  In his last season here when he returned from injury he did play what we all call DM though.

I agree, a Korey type would be useful.

Agree that Smith rarely sat in midfield.

I think the ‘plan’ was that Nagy replaced Park and Massengo replaced Smith. I’d argue Massengo has that bite, but needs a season or two to develop that.

And…if it was health reasons, they’d (OS) have said so.

I really don’t see why some posters think it’s anything other that Pearson not wanting him. That’s not trying to be ITK, but reality of the situation, hence mutual termination.

    Good luck to Simmo btw.

Because you alluded to knowing more, people speculated.

  7. Absolutely awful. He offered Pring no protection and looked lost.

As they attacked down our left for their goal, O’Dowda was wide right.

I would not be disappointed to never see him play again.

  8. I enjoyed that assist just as much as a slick through ball. Pure determination to keep the ball, despite being fouled, and to lay it off.

We wouldn’t have got that goal from a lot of the squad last season.
