  1. Christsakes, well known as ‘pathological liars’, but their attendance thread takes it to new levels.

Historically, rule of thumb has been two thirds City, one third Sags in terms of real/latent support. Now that’s heading towards a three quarters, one quarter divide.

Very fitting that they have quarters for their shirts - that should help to remind them of their share of support.

North Bristol was never ‘theirs’. The good news, it’s mostly ours now.

  2. That open-sided wooden shelter for the disabled warrants a mention. Surpasses Santa’s Grotto as a statement of intent.

Surely a nominee for a British Arhitecture award.

Cant wait to see what ‘improvements’ are scheduled for this summer. The Cabbage Patch can only be second to the Nou Camp as a ‘must see’ ground.

Rovers fan on H&J on Talksport now just phoned in and although said fair play to City he then undid his praise by saying one thing we (Rovers) do have over them (City) is our support, we have a bigger Away following and everyone tells us how great we are etc etc blah blah blah unreal!!

Pity Danny Baker wasn't the presenter.

He'd have rolled out his line AGAIN, Bristol Rovers fans just a bunch of  'pathological liars'.

Their Chairman asked the fans to be patient and then revealed the first concept drawings of an 120,000 all seater Memorial Stadium complete with space port, shopping complex and 50,000 space 'safe standing' car park.

This was shown alongside a computer generated video of DC and the team bringing home the 2020 European Cup.

Apparently the fans lapped it up and can't wait to see the build start next week.

Think a few though did start to have doubts when they said about 'a link to the operational Bristol Metrobus system'.

Headley Park, Bemmy Down, Bishopsworth, Highridge, always seemed to be quite a few gas in Stockwood though, don’t know if that’s still the case

Yeah, my ex-wife was from Stockwood. Despite her claiming to be City, all her family were 'loyal' Gasheads. Never though, in the couple of decades I knew them did they venture to Bath/the Rugby Ground.

Should've known she would turn out a wrong' un.

  6. The original SAG poster was correct. WoT is, indeed, City.

The deluded few need to stick to those pleasant residential areas adjoining the M32 corridor. Plus they can have Lockleaze. A place of rare architectural beauty and high culture that I had never previously visited and had the misfortune of driving through (bypassing the traffic hold-up caused by the bi-weekly horse punching festival) on Saturday en route to Eastvile Stadium. I mean, IKEA.

Great to see that the SAGs have installed a new shelter in the away end too!

So, in one picture of a small part of their stadium we have a converted shipping container and garden shed, some larch lap garden fence panels and a car port.

Watch out, they're coming for us!

Tinpot just doesn't adequately describe it.

Sorry, you made a typo, but I am sure the village idiots will use it as 'evidence' of taking 30,000 to every away game.

Moron FC are like a festering boil on the prostitute Irene's bottom.  When you play away games, Bristol has a collective sigh of relief,  its got rid of the 30,000 village idiots for the day.

You are the most irrelevant team in world football.  You dont have to like it, but there it is.

You have not earned to right to play us.  During this time however, you have mercilessly provided us with a consistently high level of ammunition to throw back in your faces.

It wouldn't be right as opposed fan base not to laugh at the following:

    Pipe Dream Arena

Relegation out of the football league

Getting beaten by Cheese and Ham FC

Getting beaten by a team that might take you over Bath FC... twice

Stadium upgrades: Curtains/paint/carpets (Not sure they are new carpets...but old ones cleaned)

Buy your 10m rated player for 300K

Your hopeless estimation of fans attending games

    Equine boxing

    Boob Cricket

    New Sprinklers

A fence around your new training facilty

    Santas Grotto

Hence the length of the thread.  You are truly the gift that keeps on giving.  On the rare occasion I have a bad day, I thank the lord I am not a g**Nobhead.  That always always cheers me.

Thanks and of course keep them coming.

You forgot their 'stand' at UWE freshers week.

    That forking colouring board!!!!

Some Slag seriously thought 'that looks good, worthy of being centrepiece of our display'. Snort.

In the legal world there are established rules for precedent.  Roughly speaking a court is obliged to accept points of law established in decisions by higher courts or explain why the case at hand is distinguished from those.

Is there actually an obligation like this in planning?  Or is it just a case of "people sometimes try to be consistent".  Genuine question because I've never heard of one, but you seem to know this area well.

'Each case considered on own merits'.

In a nutshell, Sags make new planning application for a stadium. Will be assessed based on adopted national/local policy. Applicants will submit volumes of evidence in support of application. That will contain loads of fresh current data and forecasts.

If the City Council either refuse or fail to make a determination within prescribed/agreed timelines, the applicant has a right of appeal to the Secretary of State. A planning inspector will be appointed and an inquiry held.

If (rarely) there is a 'point of law' at issue, they can apply for judicial review.

The fact that they have been granted permission previously will not have a bearing on the outcome of this application, aside from the fact that a number of the 'tests' applied to the appraisal of any new application will be similar to those applied previously. The evidence on which those 'tests' are applied will have changed significantly. National and local policy relevant to those tests will also have materially changed. You cannot automatically assume that as they've been granted permission previously they'll get it again.

They will more than likely get permission for an upgrade, the key question is size. Strongly suspect that 18000 capacity may well be resisted. The other key question is cost of 'mitigation', I would hazard a guess that the cost of transport measures would be far, far greater than previous
