I’m amazed (a) Rowett is available and (b) he’d go back to work for his fickle former employer.
He would have been good at BS3 IMHO.

That's because Man C are "A Big Club". Remember when Alan Sugar was in charge at Spurs? They were deducted 24 points for some reason. Alan S appealed against this and had the deduction reduced to twelve points. He still wasn't happy, so appealed again and ended up with zero points deduction.
Yes - and at about the same time Swindon Town was found to have made ‘illegal payments to players’ during their promotion season and were forcibly prevented from being promoted. As a small club they didn’t have the finance to fight the ruling.
I’m not saying Swindon were in the right, but the rules need to apply to everyone equally.- 1

Again I have to say this, where is the deterrent?
Over spend by 34.5 million which gives a performance advantage and then get a measly points deduction.
Agree - that’s just one win and a draw
They have benefited far more than that.

I met him in Disney several years back.
Mrs F was chatting away to him as I came out of the Indiana Jones show, talking about mobility equipment (as we do!), and then it dawned on her who she was with!!! He was a lovely chap.
She has form, once chatted to Charlton Heston, without knowing who he was!
can’t accuse her of being starstruck!
Warnock is one of a very small list of ‘big’ football characters I’d love to share a beer with and talk football.
In the dugout he’s a shouty angry panto villain but by all accounts he’s a complete gentleman outside the stadium and always makes time to talk to people who want a chat.

Before appointing Tinnion
This - is the only reason I want LM given more time.
I’m not happy with things at the club - either on nor off the field, but replacing Liam with another Jon Lansdown appointment - or Tinnion - is scarier to me than hoping LM can turn things around.- 3

Did an amazing job at Aberdeen..
Would be futile to bring in a 75 year old who buggers off every few months.
It won’t happen - and we aren’t quite in a position where we need him (yet).

Warnocks available and looking for a job at a ‘struggling’ Championship side according to the Scum …..

In 2054 I can imagine that some fans will still be blaming the fact we have not yet managed to make it to the premiership on the brief period LJ was in charge

You do realise that nurses do ****ing loads? Not just mental health?
I think that you should have a word with yourself.
Sometimes, trying to debate football on here is like Woody in Toy Story trying to negotiate with the little one-eyed aliens in the grab machine.
I think sacking Liam and replacing him with another unproven and unknown ‘yes’ man from the lower leagues, chosen by Jon L and Brian T is not a good idea - at this stage.
if we enter the relegation zone anything goes and we would have nothing to lose, but right now we are mid table and replacing a known JL appointment with an unknown JL appointment is, to me, silly.- 1

It was a joke.
A joke that said nothing about mental health.
Get over it.

Wow!!
Haven't had that since I first joined in 2010.
Keep up, dear boy.
I assumed because you made no attempt to comment on the thread. Just simply posted some, presumably in your opinion humorous, comment about needing mental health assistance.
I also assume you must think that because you disagree with my opinions?

We are going back 2 years, 2.5 years..when we were still relatively trying to balance football and finance. We were beginning some drastic downsizing from a low base in Spring 2021. We did well to avoid a relegation scrap and see Scott and Semenyo stepping up, especially Scott.
Thank you and I respect yours. Jon Lansdown and Tinnion for that matter? Wouldn't trust them to run the Burger Van near the Atyeo!!
Proper CEO IN, Tinnion back to his Academy and it Loans type position, JL who knows- away from the levers of power though.
It’s partly because I totally agree with you on JL and BT that I don’t want LM sacked - and if he WAS sacked I don’t trust tweedle dum and tweedle Dee to appoint a decent replacement - and they will NOT be sacked (well, Tweedle Dum won’t)
I think (hope) he will turn it around.
just my opinion - I accept I’m in the minority. -

Your description liking to sit on a 1-0. Some games sure but not sure it was the norm.
Sorry but that’s not true.
We held the Football League record of letting a lead slip for a while - it was commented on by Sky Sports News at the time. Most points dropped from a winning position.
Anyway, I respect your opinions - so who do you trust Jon L to appoint next then?
-
1 minute ago, Mr Popodopolous said:
That's pretty debatable.
I dunno if I recognise that description, we set out to be a pacy, counter attacking side and when it worked, when we had good availability thought it was enjoyable.
Sorry mate - what is debatable? We attack more under Manning?
-
Just now, Davefevs said:
Whereas LM likes to sit on a 0-0.
I don’t think a Manning side sits back.
We can’t deal with sides that sit deep, but that’s been the case since Cotts - and although we all love Cotts we were facing League 1 opponents back then. -
I can’t speak for anyone else - and we are all entitled to an opinion - but LM hasn’t lost me - yet.
I can see signs of what he is trying to achieve - vs Watford, Southampton, West Ham, Forest and even Ipswich (though we lost).
If we drop into the relegation zone then sure - gamble on another manager, but for now I’d stick with him.I didn’t want Nige sacked - I was astonished when it was announced - but a Nigel Pearson team was very defensive and tried (often unsuccessfully) to sit back in a 1 goal lead.
One thing I find refreshing is that we still attack when a goal up. Ok, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I like the idea.
I’m probably in the minority judging by some of the comments on here, but that’s how I feel.
Also, you do know who would be in charge of appointing any successor, don’t you!!! -
I always liked Pato.
His chant; ‘do do dododo do Jamie Paterson’ followed him to Swansea!!

We lost by one goal to a second placed team on their patch.
Disappointing to lose but we weren’t humiliated.
0 points not a surprise either from this fixture

-
Disappointed of course.
For most of the game we held our own - like a lower league side in a cup game. We gave them a fright on a few occasions.
At the end of the day we were undone by a coupe of stupid individual errors and a lack of fitness. At the end we looked spent. That final throw-in the lads looked devoid of any ideas or energy.- 2

They are turning the screw now
-
That’s a double whammy for some; Liams team winning AND Mehmeti scoring a great goal.
if it stays this way some will be crying in their cider tonight because neither will be going anywhere!!!!!- 1

Bristol City - the most mid-table club ever?

Every time I get frustrated and upset about our lack of progress up the leagues, I remind myself that the ‘norm’ for many years for me was to watch us bumping along in the old Div 3 season after season, playing the likes of Grimsby, Tranmere or Mansfield on a wet weeknight.
The weather hasn’t improved much, but our league average attainment thankfully has.
