The Lansdowns have run their course IMO.

I thought so a year ago or so, the Summer 2023 onwards did it for me- Scott record fee us one thing but the failure to back, in respect of transfer expenditure, lack of appreciation and contract for manager and his coaching staff.

Then getting rid of CEO, any CEO in fact.

    I could go on..

I would not think that responsible owners are queuing around the block to spend perhaps £100m and then potentially bung in another £20m or so a year to keep us afloat.

It's pretty clear that many fans on here don't.

I think many now have so much antipathy towards the owner and his hierarchy that JL could announce the most cohesive, well constructed, well thought out and progressive plan and it would be rubbished, just because it came from him.

He's very much damned if he does and damned if he doesn't!

    Absolutely spot on.

No, but he’s the one who’s done it for us, for which I’m a bit more grateful than some on here. I so much look forward to you all getting your way because you obviously know so much about running a football club. And I expect you’ll be able to come up with a list of people ready and willing to take over as well.

    Well said mate. 👍👍

Nice one Harry. His ego just expanded ten fold!

Further evidence of his interference & overall control.

    The blokes a narcissist

Is he? Not for me he’s not.

He’s the bloke who every season  has funded £millions of my football clubs losses, built a ground and training ground. He saved the famous old rugby club from extinction and provided the funding that turned  it into one of the country’s top clubs.
Doesn’t sound too bad to me.

Hes a *** and doesnt deserve respect.

So playing over 450 games for us, bringing lads through the academy doesn’t deserve respect? That’s a bit sad.

Essentially in was a dead rubber with neither club having anything to play for.

IMO there is no such thing as a dead rubber with nothing to play for in professional football.
Getting on for 2000 fans travelled for good distance and paid good money to support the team wanting them to play well and win the football match and get 3 points.
Back in the day of 2 up and 2 down with no play offs many more games could have been termed as nothing to play for.

The bloke is like a ****ing toddler.

This club is doomed until this carcinogenic cell is removed.

Tinnion has done a good job with the Academy and when managing the development of young players out on loan.
My opinion is that he is unsuitable for the role he has now.
Name calling such as this is in my opinion unnecessarily rude and disrespectful.

Either way the Lansdowns have (IMO) run their race and in particular Jon Lansdown and Tinnion in their current roles neither have it, nor will ever have it and Manning should be on very thin ice too.

I certainly agree about Brian Tinnion. IMO miles out of his depth.

You do know it's not either or, don't  you?

20 years and still no progress on the pitch. 20 years is long enough to havedone so. They've had their opportunity. Time for someone else to have a go.

Thanks for the bricks and mortar. Fair play. Now its time to f off.

    Who is the someone else?

    Stop it….spoiler alert 😡😡😡😡😡

He might want his money back, but it’s not worth £200m, so why not moan…he’s priced it out of getting someone better in!!!

I don’t know how much he wants. If he wants his money back I suppose it’s about £200M.
My opinion is he’d take a lot less for the right buyer but who knows.

Isn't it funny how a thread where 100% of the replies were in agreement about what a disaster this is, there's always someone who rarely adds anything to the forum appears out of nowhere and instantly posts the usual boring thing about the Lansdown investments......

    I’ve been a fan since 1957.
on this forum since 2003. Agreed I’m not a regular poster these days  but overall have over 1200 posts. Not a proper fan though eh?

@aa_bcfc no club has spent / built up losses of £200m+ and not achieved promotion to the PL!

Careless decision making from the top.

That’s as maybe. I was responding to a post saying that SL wants his money back. That’s about £200m.
And all we do is moan.

last reply on this thread; you reckon? we managed to get to the top div without Lansdowns "help" and beat many of the clubs there in the ramshakle AG :gaah:

Massively easier to get to and stay in the top division back in the 70’s. Ashton Gate was not considered ramshackle at the time, it was a decent ground.

he was a gas head fan was only when they fled to Bath he thought he would try us.....the rest is history and how we got to this force we are now

Without the Lansdowns we’d probably be in league 1 playing in a ramshackle Ashton Gate.

Not at the price Steve wants, no. Because guess what? He wants most, if not all, of his money back.

I would rather new owners, yes. Even something like the Man U investment with help from the outside would be very welcome.

So he wants about £200,000,000 does he because that’s about what it’s cost him.

  16. 2 minutes ago, mason said:

let me think.........where has the debt come from, wait a minute...............wouldnt be the Lansdowns sh1te decisions on manager/ceo appointments would it?

We are where we are though aren’t we. Fact remains that as far as I can see the only person who will pay the debt every year is Steve Lansdown.

  17. 1 minute ago, Kid in the Riot said:

They don't need to take any of our advice. Steve has literally put the club up for sale. It's on the market.

It might be on the market but they are not exactly queuing around the block to buy it.
Perhaps you’d happy to have ownership like the sags have got, I’d rather have the Lansdowns.

Surely it's time to put an end to this madness!

The sags must have a dustbin thread on us by now.  There's enough ammo to keep them going for a while .

Please leave Mr. Lansdown, and take your puppets with you.

Thanks for your efforts, but it's time to move on.

Imagine if the Lansdowns took your advise and just packed their bags and said that’s us we’re off. WTF would we do then? Are we all going chip in to pay the £20 or £30 million debt every year?
