  1. Is O'Dowda playing in one of the stands?
  2. I can remember us losing at AG to Sunderland with a goal in the 3rd minute.
  3. At least they'll have a new stadium to enjoy playing Barnsley in
  4. Trouble is, the brilliant young player we need is an 18 year old Gerry Gow*. Instead we have HNM, Scott and Benarous, who are less 'combative'. *Maybe dialled back a little on the aggression, mind...
  5. I would say the likes of Palmer and Wells and their (reportedly) large wages are more of an issue. I think HNM is a good player in a bad team, in the wrong league. Germany or France would suit him better.
  6. I can remember Sky in the early, early days...it was truly horrific, Prime is nothing like that. Some cracking shows on there, eg Bosch, The Expanse
  7. No-one's forcing you to watch it
  8. That's an interesting solution. Alternatively, they could just say "suck it up", and force clubs to take the risk, same as they do moving from L2 to L1, L1 to Championship, etc. This would mean that clubs promoted would have to weigh up risks. There would still be a financial gap from the TV revenues earned in the Prem, but it would be up to clubs whether to spend this all in year 1 to keep them in the Prem, or invest it in the future.
  9. Grauniad article suggesting these might be binned. Thoughts? Article in the Grauniad about ending Parachute Payments
  10. And this possible appointment was derided by many on here as being unambitious and dull. Personally, I don't see the value in dumping Pearson now. Where are the better options out there?
  11. look at the screen name: TafkaRMLF" = "The artist formerly known as Ralph Milne's Left Foot" (Prince fans will recognise this trick)
  12. I seem to remember the equally useless Jurgen Klopp aiming the same criticism at Sturridge. Perhaps he should have been sacked, too.
  13. Step forward, the previous CEO. It's not down to the owner, it's down to those within the executive at the club.
  14. I didn't see yesterday's game (sounds like I was lucky), but I recall in the past when Jordan took over we were dreadful until he'd had a chance to build his own team. Then we sauntered to promotion. I'm not saying that the same thing will happen under Pearson, but it's clear we are (pardon the pun) hamstrung by high wages for players who aren't performing (Wells, Palmer most obviously). They probably need to be shipped out, although how we achieve that in the current market is a major issue. That will give us the financial headroom to start improving the squad. I'm not convinced that Pearson's "old boys" approach (James, King, Simpson) has been a positive, however, so it needs to be more imaginative. Oh, and anyone blaming the owner - get a grip.
  15. Pleased to see us taking a chance with youth, both home grown and imported (Tanner) If they do, let's hope we get compensated by the transfer fee (and sell-on)
  16. So, I'm the only one who saw this thread title and started making up rude jokes, right?
  17. It must be said, Moyes is doing a phenomenal job at West Ham. God, it really is painful having to say something nice about the East End Inbreds.
  18. Spot on. He left them in a right mess when he quit, and they haven't really recovered since.
  19. He is if he doesn't work off the ball. As for "World Class", he'll be off to China or Qatar next season.
  20. I did a project in Immingham once, not only horrible but also really, really rough. To put it in context, a colleague said "What a sh17hole that is, and I'm from Hull!" when I told him. And you've obviously never been to Cleethorpes, either
  21. Palmer for sure, Wells possibly, I'd also wonder about Dasilva
  22. Rather him than me, Grimsby's a massive toilet
  23. I was watching MOTD over the weekend, couple of teams have a really bright, lemon yellow away kit - looked great. We should do that. We often used to have a yellow away kit, back in the late '80s/early '90s - why not now?
  24. Right, I've signed up. I need my OTIB fix, and as others say, £5 is buttons. Respect to all the OTIB team.
