Did some amazing cars, took this photo at Goodwood revival a few years ago. The 1959 Bristol Teardrop Special - the only one of its kind apparently

I love that goal, great touch control and turn from Scott, but then has the vision and skill to hit the space. Nakhi has run from the defenders blindside at pace to get into acres on the wing. Bell runs on the defenders back and fakes to run near post before going blindside and sprinting. All around great movement and a lovely goal to watch. I thought the defender knew what he was doing, sneaky foul and another that could have been very nasty that was missed by a Ref looking straight at it. I make that 3 today. The strikers fed on scraps today, didn't have the control of MF enough to make many of the situations like the goal. They pressed well at times and we ended up going longer quicker. In a way it's good to see us come out of a game like this with a win. Been too soft too long.

Preston North End away match thread

Now I've calmed down (and I'm full of Oowee Burger), a few thoughts. Ugly scrappy game and one of those we would capitulate in previously. We carry a real threat, specially on the break, just a shame we couldn't find a little more composure later on. Max, apart from the goal, was excellent. Those times late in games with teams pumping the ball in the box have broken us previously. To have a keeper that comes and claims through his whole area means they have to try and make the cross perfect, which buys more time. The replay seems to show there was a fair bit of movement on the shot that lead to the goal, so much more difficult than first thought. I hate moaning about Refs, even when we've won, but how he could be blind to things in front of him (Nakhi & Scott) but saw every shirt pull we did amazes me. It looks like we have genuine options from the bench now, shame we didn't get to see Mehmetti, but I thought the subs were used well today. On that note I have to praise Nige. I have criticised him several times on slow or late subs, but I thought he got it spot on today. Wells was on the edge of a second yellow, fresh legs up front with Weimann & Cornick was sensible and going to a 3 at the back with Kalas was timely. I thought we saw the game out pretty well, they were fairly one dimensional and predictable. You know they will go diagonal and get lots of crosses in, it just isn't that easy to stop. It was a tough game for anyone to stand out, scrappy , gritty and the ball was in the air far too much, it didn't really suit us. So to come away with 3 points is very pleasing . Personally if I had to give MotM I'd go for Max, the diving save was very good and he really did try and dominate his area. Completely different game next week. My Norwich mate has not been enjoying this season, picked up a little since the new manager but he said "Burnley tied us in knots and we never laid a glove on em." Not sure what that means for next week, but it should be a better game than today. Typically good timing for me to be in Essex -
I'm sure everyone has seen the gAss media team ending up looking stupid , taking the piss out of MK for not bringing more fans. Only to lose at home and get rinsed by the MK lot when they conceded early. Wolves go one better ; The Result : The Comments : Wolves Media team reply :

They have 2 types of player and it suites them, cowards and bullies. Cunningham is a coward, studs Nakhi then is all apologetic when faced up. What a manual manipulator ! -

The way they were going down in our box and appealing for handball every time we cleared it, I'm surprised they didn't get one. Specially how soft some of the free kicks they got given. -

Ball bounced just in front of him, makes it much harder. Maybe should have done better, but his handling was good today apart from that. -

True , you almost expect it. But the Ref was looking straight at both incidents and gave nothing. Thats what gets me. -

What a shit Ref for the 2nd half. Yellow cards for slight shirt pulls for us, but rake studs down a shin or grab someones face, didn't see it. Well played City. -
That spell of Turner & Taylor up front was special. I was going everywhere around then and it was really enjoyable . Haven't always been able to say that.

Nigel Pearson - the sanest manager in English football?

TBF Gary Johnson tripped a player celebrating a goal and Lee Johnson swang someone his own size around like a ballboy , so there's previous here -

Well, they've apparently released info. I can't get on the site though. Probably too many glory hunters after tickets ?

Saw this Tweet and thought I'd stick it here instead of starting a new thread. 30 players ? Can that be right ? I'd like to see them go down and see what sort of fire sale they'd need to comply with FFP etc.

not won at Preston in twelve years

Was that the game we were in caged sections on the side ? Remember the plastic pitch, I thought we lost though. EDIT Just looked it up, the game I was thinking of was the year before. Jan 88/89 lost 2-0 -
I was thinking short term. Be interesting to see how things change over the next few games.

Bench looks decent. Haikin, DaSilva, Kalas, Cornick, Mehmeti, Weimann, Williams. Balance , game changers and can cover most positions.

I haven't seen lots of him, but at over 6' and he say B2B, that is exactly what everyone would want in a midfielder. Seen nothing of Taylor - Clarke, but listening to that Swansea game sounded like he enjoys a tackle. I have my fingers crossed for these two to advance and "make it".

Could be a good move, hopefully gets plenty of football and builds him up for a crack at the first team next year. Does mean I'll have to keep an eye on Swindon though and not just smile when I see they've lost. ******************************** Swindon Town have snapped up young Bristol City ace Dylan Kadji on loan, subject to EFL approval. The 19-year-old will spend the remainder of the current season at the County Ground. The six-foot two-inch midfielder has come through the Championship sides youth academy, signing his first professional contract back in November 2021.He’s gone on to make two senior appearances for Nigel Pearson’s first-team, and has been singled out by his manager on numerous occasions for some impressive displays on the pitch and during a pre-season training camp last year.As well as a loan spell at National League South side Bath City last term, where he made six appearances and featured against Chippenham Town, he netted seven minutes into his senior Bristol City debut in August last year in a 3-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park in the EFL Trophy.Town Technical Director, Sandro Di Michele, said: “Dylan is a very talented, combative young player that comes to the club highly recommended.“He brings versatility and tenacity that will no doubt excite Swindon Town fans.”Upon completing his Swindon move, Dylan commented: “I’m delighted to get this over the line. Everyone has been really welcoming since I’ve come in today and this seems a great environment to develop.“I like to get on the ball and am a typical box to box midfielder with energy and goals, so I can’t wait to show the Town fans what I can and what I’m capable of.”

He'll probably try to take the taste away by licking windows.
