  1. I'd take that, but my first choice would be Spurs away.
  2. Totally agree. There should be clarity, honesty and fairness from both sides. Thing is , the numbers involved are ridiculous so people try and manufacture situations.
  3. I would say, knowing he is not here next year has forced Pearson into playing the likes Kadji & Taylor Clarke as they will be, and it gives him a chance to see if they can step up. TBF both parties have said he is there if needed. Different situation IMO
  4. I would say that as Everton brought him up through the ranks, gave him his chance that the current state of the Club has no bearing on his attitude. He should be professional and do things properly, he was always going to get his move, £40m FFS ! He apparently was allowed to miss one training but then agreed to go, and didn't , shit attitude IMO. The difference in moves isn't that different. Yeah, Everton basket case to possible Champions League challengers is a massive move. That said, potential European football to possible Champions is Massive-er, potentially.
  5. I totally get players wanting to move on , to better/bigger teams or just for more money . But there are ways to go about it. It's not a good look for a player, if I was a manager I'd have second thoughts about someone who could down tools if they wanted to move. Problem is, some will encourage it to save themselves some money or just to force the deal.
  6. The one thing this game gives us is breathing space. Would be great to get through, but a game we were always going to be 2nd favourites at least it gives us time for us to find a replacement or two and Pring serves suspension in a game that isn't priority. If it was a League game I might be concerned about lack of players, but it's unlikely we would win the Cup so ....... It's a good chance to give Kalas some minutes and give Bell his first start as a striker. Williams could do with a proper run out and a chance for Taylor-Clarke to have some more involvement . My prediction , we get a Pen in added time at 3-1 down .
  7. Martin Moore & Klose are clearly going. Massengo must have a Club lined up. Questions over Kalas & DaSilva. High wages (currently) and recent injury record makes me think he will be allowed to leave. Unless he takes a big pay cut, takes a per game contract and Nige has seen something he wants in the team. DaSilva hasn't done much wrong, technically one of the best at the club but there are question marks, not sure he fits into what Nige is building. King is slowly moving towards coaching, wouldn't be surprised to keep him in that dual role while he gets his Badges. I think that just leaves new lads or Kids. We will probably need 6 players , or more , before next year to make a Squad. Going to be another tough summer.
  8. A goal almost every other game for Gillingham, us and Wolves. Didn't go well at Leicester but , as you say, 11 goals isn't terrible.
  9. Recently ? About 5/6 years ago went in the Pump House for a meal one evening. Hadn't been there for a while and it was just by chance. Getting drinks as Mrs found a table and I asked for a glass of White wine. I don't drink it so know nothing and the chap quietly said, "It is quite expensive". I just thought he considered me an oik, so I said don't worry as we were eating . Turned out to be £12 a glass, didn't realise until the bill turned up.
  10. Yep, I went all in, to find the original Wakey wines Vids, I will never get that time back.
  11. You're definitely not the only one. I've just about got to the stage of adding time to guess-timates, but still generally out. Really does play with your mind.
  12. A memory popped up this morning. Bears Vs Glos, 26th Jan 2020 . They are a different breed Rugby fans
  13. Just wait for loads more like this now. I hope not too many like the Crewe one mocking Wakey Wines (it's not worth the effort of finding it & the context)
  14. Live on the FA Player. Just a quick sign up needed. https://faplayer.thefa.com/video/bGl2ZSU3QzBfd3l6bmIxbWElN0MlMkZzZWN0aW9uJTNGcGFnZSUzRGhvbWUtcGFnZSU3Q2hlcm8tc2VjdGlvbi0wLWFsbC0taGVyb19jb250ZW50cy0tMA%3D%3D
  15. Plus approaching £20k a week off the wage bill.
  16. Whatever it was, it would have been too much. Ended up leaving St. Etienne on a free.
  17. Sounds familiar. Went for €10m to St. Etienne ( * Transfermarkt* I thought I read it was more) , so looked a promising signing, until you saw him play. You saying he was hot ? I could make a case for Diony & Walsh, but surely any sort of Scout would pick up that Kent was completely wrong for our team and how we were playing then. Mark Ashton CEO at WeSignAnyClown.com
  18. I look at this photo and just give my head a wobble On this day 2018 .
  19. Then it's not a done deal ! They have to say "it's a done deal" to make it a done deal, otherwise it can't be a done deal and the deals not done. I'm sure we all agree, done
  20. You can't say the owners haven't backed the managers, they may have chosen the wrong managers but they've certainly given them money to spend. If the list I saw is right, they are 8th highest net spenders in the World over the last 10 years. You could probably see a problem starting when Keoman came in, signed something like 5 numbers 10s , Recruitment was a shambles. He was there for less than 18 months, gross spend of getting on for £300m and a win % of 41. Then Allardyce , Silva a couple of Caretakers and Ancelotti, before they had the genius idea of Rafa FFS. Now waiting for their 10th manager ( + 4 Caretakers ) in 10 years and a Net spend of £430m , they've actually spent (gross) £559.5m since 2016 under Mosiri . I honestly think they were the only ones (along with Frank and his Dad) that thought Lampard was a good fit.
  21. Replacement rumour. Is informed that former Bodø/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin has received an offer from Bristol City. If the final details fall into place and the parties reach full agreement,
  22. Totally agree. Bentley is always slow coming for balls, backs away from back passes and rarely comes for crosses. It puts doubts in defenders minds. As you say , Max is consistent and clear, makes a big difference and I think it's shown. There have been times later in games, where Max has come and claimed crosses near the edge of the box. We get possession and control of the game when we need it. Plus Max can improve Bents' won't. Just need cover now.
  23. But you can speak for Johnson ? I'll look forward to GJ's biography where he explains this deliberate slight. His dropping out of the team might have more to do with him scoring once in his last 18 games. From memory most people I knew wanted him to do well, but obviously you know better. After he left us he played 4 times for PNE before moving on. Got about 1 in 7 after his permanent move to Yeovil and 1 in 9 at Exeter, hardly pulling up trees. I , for one was happy he was doing well in, by then, a Division lower than us.
