  1. I thought that was standard throughout the League now, so I guess that's just non League teams. But I guess that is similar. At least it would be just Non League Teams playing home that don't have it , so the differences are limited. From 1st round you get 32 qualifiers to add to the 72 League teams. So VAR is available at 20 out of 124 clubs, what's the point. Ref it Old School.
  2. As @Taunton_BCFC said, 12 something. I think it's great we get 20k for League games, but I'm like many, having to stump up extra for Cup games I struggle for motivation. It was my mates Birthday and that was the main reason I went.
  3. It's obviously a City thing, along with not getting Penalties.
  4. I have said from the start, it's a disgrace that just because you are in the Prem and have VAR, you can get a decision that a team from a lower League wouldn't. The whole thing about the FA Cup is that it is the same for every team that enters, it aint now.
  5. Picture the scene..... Penalty Bristol City, umm the players seem to be wandering around not sure what to do next. They are consulting the bench, but they seem unaware what the next step is .... The Ref has now given a goal Kick
  6. As far as I know there is no desertion , you get treatment and you have to leave the field. Otherwise it is open to even more accusations of cheating.
  7. That is the problem. They know if they miss something they have cover, it gives them an easy out. Of course back in the real World of the EFL a non decision impacts massively, just as much as a wrong one.
  8. Swansea looked a better team, without creating anything or causing us problems. Apart from a give-away goal they didn't have a shot on target until about 80 minutes . We didn't really cause them problems until we changed shape , but if we were allowed Pens we could easily have nicked it. Hope Weimann is OK, forgot you could only use Subs in 3 spells and wondered why Pearson was telling him to go off. Probably a fair result, but I really want to see the 2/3 Pen shouts again. In real time I thought there were 2 decent Penalty appeals.
  9. Worst of all the bad Prem Refs we've had. Foul after foul given, but it took until about the 75th minute for him to book one of theirs. Managed to book one of theirs for something in the their area, but give them a free kick. Stopped play, I think we may have had the ball, for a Swansea player with a bad back. Trainer comes on and gives him treatment but for some reason he didn't have to leave the pitch. I won't mention the Penalty shouts as I've given up. ******* unless.
  10. Great effort TBF, really showing Div 5 in a good light. Chesterfield robbed too.
  11. Working in the Coal Mine - Lee Dorsey
  12. When he first came into the side he seemed to take a lot of FKs, not necessarily direct as Nakhi takes priority. He took corners too , but that has dropped off. The quality of delivery definitely dropped for whatever reason. About time he started again, can deliver a good ball. EDIT: Beat me to it @Davefevs
  13. While Nige was temporary yeah . I wonder if SL deciding to make him permanent had a bearing, would be something to like NP for. Pearson joins end of Feb, Ashton departure announced mid April. I was thinking longer term though, I think even Pearson wouldn't have 'full bore' in those early days. Given time, and a realisation of how big the mess was, I think it could have been entertaining further down the line.
  14. TBF all Managers want "just one more player", so while Johnson gets the blame for a lot of things, it's not all down to him where we are. He should have been more focused on building a team shape & style, but IMO the majority of blame falls on Ashton. Steve Lansdown has been criticised for not being a football man, well Mark Ashton was supposed to be that buffer/conduit. But he loved buying players. Lansdown was guilty of too much loyalty and trust, that's the main point here. Ashton over saw all those transfers, even if he didn't target them (which no one really knows), he convinced Steve L to sign the cheque. We will never know why holden was appointed, or at least the thinking behind it. No one believes he was the best man for the job at that time. What I think is Ashton may have been concerned with his position and not wanted someone coming in that was well experienced, strong willed and not gullible. If Pearson come in under Ashton I think we would have seen some fireworks. All 3 are culpable , Johnson lacked plan and focus. Lansdown trusted the wrong person , you'd think with Gould or the new CEO we wouldn't be in this situation. Ashton was given the keys to the car and his ego ran amok . We are lucky that when the owner drops a bollock, he has the funds to pay for his mistakes. Many Clubs have fallen down or out of the League through poor or reckless spending.
  15. Very rough calculation , they have 8 games inside 80 miles, we have 3.
  16. Bobby Gould was awful. TBF better scoring record than I thought, 15 in 35, but I really didn't take to him.
  17. I think some of Jackie's problem was the manager after Smith. Denis Smith said he mad a mistake trying to make us more solid and not to attack so much. Fair enough, you can understand that, but he was followed by Russell Osman , who I hated. We went to a (pre season ?) talk with the manager. He had stated that if Jackie did well on a tour he would feature. He got good reviews in the Press but was dropped anyway, in favour of some of the most boring , dour football I've seen. I get he didn't do the hard yards, Dave Martin said they would be happy to do his running to allow him to produce some magic. But if the Manager doesn't see it that way, you're toast. Some loved him, the more pragmatic may have frowned on him, but we played some entertaining football with him in the team.
  18. I loved him here. We were going everywhere and he lit up some very drab games. With Cole we always thought we had a chance. Leicester was a highlight, but little bits of magic could happen any time. Tranmere away , Sunderland away. Most exciting , enjoyable relegation scrap ever , under Denis Smith. Jackie , Cole , Rosenior & Allison , could be shit, could be fun , watch the Millwall away game.
  19. It was the timing that hurt me. Made sense for Man City, we both had 7 games left . We were 2 points behind Watford with a game in hand and I'm convinced we would have won the League if he'd stayed. Man City were 1 point off the bottom of the table, even with Goaters 3 goals they got relegated. Terrible timing for us, missing the top spot by 3 points. We swapped places with them as we went up, then did the same going down the following year.
  20. Can I interest you in the new "Mark Ashton Blinkers" ? You never get sidetracked by things that have happened before, just the NEXT signing.
  21. Now I'm not one for, change for change sake. But German referee Patrick Ittrich has suggested making several changes to football's rules and I'm with him on a few. 1) For a tactical foul in midfield, a free-kick should be awarded 17 metres from goal. How often will we see such fouls then? 2) If the player rolls on the floor three times and needs a doctor, get him one and make him wait on the sideline for 3 minutes. How quickly do you think the player would stand up? 3) If a player insults the referee, send them off for 10 minutes to calm down. Go cycling to warm up before coming back on. We can learn from handball in that respect. 4) How is a referee surrounded by 10 men after a decision? In my opinion, boom, boom, boom - three red cards. Play seven against ten now. That'd be fine by me. First 3 I think could work , the last one feels like he threw that in so he could back down on one mad one, but get the others through. I'd love to see these at least discussed at the Top Table, rather than naming every stadium after Pele & World Cups every few weeks.
  22. Yep, I was away so blanked it from my mind.
  23. As it's you, we'll also wire up a chair for Joey free of charge. Well, no fee at least .
  24. I doubt many worried when the lineup for Lincoln was announced, you can't legislate for that sort of showing. But I doubt he feels like throwing 8/10 changes at a game against a side above us in the table.
