  1. Not sure why, celebrating Relegation ?
  2. Interesting replies from the great unwashed. Not sure the first one knows they were at home. And Wycombe's view.
  3. Personally I'm not worried it's open season, I didn't even realise. We moved a few rows back in the lower Lansdown, so felt like a win. What they could do, apart from actually telling people what's going on, they could easily do a day for STH to get their seats that are available, then a day for upper tier to have their pick and so on. Only adds one day to the procedure. I know these things can be awkward , but just get the communication right FFS.
  4. Is that them celebrating storming back into the League, by being 2nd best team in the Conference, then needing a Penalty shootout to beat Grimsby ? Oh on side note. I Googled when they reached the Playoff final and Google came up trumps. First pic the question pops up, 2nd the answer
  5. They are biting back at the claims they tried to insure Sala after the fact, not sure how far the case has got. But saying they are bringing a case against the insurers for negligence, and saying they understood from their Brokers they were insured, certainly seems like they are trying sway opinion . So they are playing games in the Media , but they have tried blaming everyone but themselves so far and they are running out of targets. So I think the statement was , initially , to knock back the reports of insurance fraud.
  6. Right, trying to be even handed. They have put out a statement... There has been selective reporting today of the defence filed against the claim the Club has brought against its insurance brokers for doing their job negligently. The Club did not try to insure Emiliano after the plane crash. All Cardiff City Football Club staff understood from its broker that all players were insured from the moment they were signed, and the case arises from learning they were not. It will reply to the allegations made in the defence that are untrue, or portrayed out of context, in the court proceedings and will not litigate this case in the media. I think most Clubs would look into what had gone on, but there is no way Cardiff come out of this looking good.
  7. Not sure if this has been on here, but it's funny anyway. An up and down season described by a fan who sees only black and white. Be great if he followed a lower League team. WARNING : Bad language alert for you sensitive types.
  8. Oh, it was worth it and we knocked you down from £10,000,000 , so there's that.
  9. Geert Meijer ( Geerty from Amsterdam ) , that Birmingham 2-1 win and a goal on debut. I thought we had a Superstar on our hands. Hard to believe he only played 15 games for us. In those days we didn't get any info from the Club, and I didn't realise what a mess the finances were in. I assumed we would be in (the old) Div 1 for years. Specilaly as the year before relegation we finished around 13th, I honestly thought the next year we had a chance of Europe. For context for the younger ones , 6 teams qualified for Europe then, 7 if one on the top 6 won the FA Cup. So we were about 8 points off our last but one year there.
  10. Thanks for your concern over how I spend my time. It was clearly a jokey post, plus it's not me going back to a post from October to get annoyed. I would add I've probably posted much worse.
  11. My Football hating Wife has informed me that her sister has got us tickets ? Needless to say she is really looking forward to it. ? Looking forward to seeing the Gate full TBH.
  12. Are you inferring that our Mayor, who was I flown to Malaysia , put up at a Hotel all inclusive, by the Company that own the Hanger where the Arena will be, may not be totally independent ???? I'm shocked. BTW what happened to the land by Temple Meades that cost us about £15m ?
  13. As a City comparrison I'd say Carl Shutt . But he has some growing and learning to do, but great promise. Saw that this morning, must admit I was a little worried. They had a bench full of first teamers to change it up, we had 6th Formers. Couldn't have been much better, other than to win it in normal time. Most annoying thing was not being able to watch, sounded like OTC made an impression.
  14. If our lot actually decided to like Nige , that could work here. We've got super Nigel Pearson, He knows exactly what we need, Vyner at the back, Nahki in attack, He's gonna take us to the Premier League. Doesn't matter if you believe it or not, we've been singing "we're by far the greatest team" for years and no one believes that.
  15. He proved my doubts wrong a long time ago. I think he is a confidence player and no surprise to me that given a run in the same position and with the same teams mates he has shone. Still has a mistake in him as does everyone of them, but I think he can become even better as experience helps his confidence. Just a brilliantly disguised back pass
  16. Really pleased for the lad, so important to get that first goal and have some positive influence on a game. Over the years we've had a few with massive promise that have stalled after a few games, and I had started to worry about Bell. Because we weren't in a position just to give him starts, it was really difficult to make an impact. Obviously that is mainly for us, the support as Nige would see him every day, but he could easily disappear. Of course , as his old man knows the score, that could help. I've seen a bit of him for the U23s, he definitely has an eye for goal, but has had little opportunity to show it so far in the first team. Getting games is important, but many of the minutes he has had would have been out of his natural position. There would have been question marks over his strength and pace stepping up to first team striker, and that's why I loved the goal last night. Watched it a few times and his movement to step across the CB not only showed pace, but awareness to take the CB out of the equation , then a decent finish. But it's not only that, he managed an assist for Sykes with a nicely weighted pass . Maybe not the most difficult pass, but easy to overhit in the moment. Add he nearly got on the end of Semenyo's cross shot and , from the Radio, sounded like he was involved in a few decent moments I hope he can kick on the way that Conway has. Conway really stood out for me in the U23s, he lead the line with great movement, touch/technique and calm finishes. Bell is very different , a lot more of his game goes unnoticed, but he gets in good positions and scores. I hope he really shines , he seems to fit the style of forward we play with now. Pace, movement and hard work. Keep on keeping on Sam
  17. having to "watch" on the Radio is crap. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_bristol
  18. I guess it comes down to how strict they are and what they are strict about. Stoppages in play , throw ins or like Goalkicks ,where the keeper wanders from side to side, decide he doesn't want to go short and waves the defenders away and bang a minute or two have gone. Injuries are supposed to be stopped for anyway aren't they, though Refs seem very free and easy with the time keeping. They have to do something.
  19. As I said, in my lifetime. Looking at the years you mention, they did have higher gates 58, 57, 55, 54, 53, 49 , so much closer. Here you go.... https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/englandcontent.htm
  20. If they stop the clock properly, they surely have to go down the 60 minutes ball in play route . That would equate to slightly more football actually played, without the game leaking into Sunday Mornings.
