  1. Get you with your internet savvy and techy wizardry
  2. OK , lets be fair and (ignoring facts) just assume that the man is a Billionaire, in which case ...... Spending money on the Rugby ground isn't an issue (£15k watch don't you know) , as it's only a poxy few of thousand. The statement about allowing the club to grow organically and not throwing money at the project is to do with sustainability and not his lack of billions. The thing I don't get. The deal with the UWE was originally done as (I assume), thegAss didn't have the funds for a site AND for the build. The joint venture would make sense , all be it with reduced revenue in comparison to a sole venture. This is where I wonder about the set up , the new ground would have loans against the build (£40m?) and they would be paying rent or at least surrendering part of the revenue to the UWE. Is it just me or do other smell a hint of the Glaziers/Man Yoo takeover and funding here. I could be wrong, and I'm no expert but for an experienced business man it just seems a little off.
  3. I can understand fans getting carried away when the takeover was originally announced, we're fans , it's what we do. I am however massively disappointed with the Post falling into the trap and making no effort to find out about the new owners, he has a nice watch so he's a billionaire ! As things stand , I think the Rugby ground will be developed. It will be a cheaper option, not necessarily a worse option , and how long will the UWE wait ?
  4. I'm not into high finance but, aren't returns on investment very low t the moment while interest rate on loans are also low, mortgage rates etc? In which case the oposite would apply, it would make sense to use your own capital . If you get investors they would want more than if they put money in abank, for example , where there is little or no risk. I'm sure there are people out there more au fait with banking and finance than me that will be able to say.
  5. 1 - 0 to the Grammar Police , 1 - 0 to the Grammar Police
  6. It is difficult this perceived rise to power..... I have a couple of gAss mates and I find it difficult not to bite or shoot them down. The latest is Dopey turned down Leeds which shows they are competing at that level, and the other mate piped up, live with it we are a big club now !!!
  7. While in some ways I think you are correct. The team that goes up, or down over a season deserves it, you focus on the last game/games as they are at the business end of the season , but the tone has been set by the previous 30+ games. A play off game is a one off so one bit of (mis)fortune can dictate your fate, a team that finishes 20 points ahead of another can lose a final to a deflected shot...... just thinking out loud .
  8. And I thought I was being fairy charitable. It was the mention of the big mans under garments wasn't it .
  9. Absolutely, and credit where credit's due (at this point I feel obliged to point out your first promotional trip to wembley was almost matched by a team of part timers, coached by a PE teacher, but I digress) two promotions are good. The thing is many managers show passion but even the big man, Steve Evans , running down the touch line showing his undercrackers to the world, would not get pissed in a local pretending to be a man of the people, unprofessional.
  10. I'm sure I heard that the gAss have refused permission to talk to the amazing Mr. Clark , now I thought they said they could earlier... the truth is out there?

  12. They're signing Marty Feldman ?? that's one for the teenagers
  13. Yet they thought it was fine/funny when Ashton Vale was a no go , hypocritical much ?? Karma's a funny thing ain't it .
  14. He said CAN write, never mentioned grammar
  15. Just seen the , is Daryl the best manager ever for the squatters , article on the Post sight. Now I don't like him/them , but he has done a decent job but does that paper have no perspective at all ?? They have done back to back promotions (in case you hadn't heard ), commendable , but does anyone red or blue really believe the first promotion an achievement ? Good day out for them but coming a poor second best to Barnet, really ? The second is a job well done (all be it relying on Acrington not to score) , they have momentum and something to celebrate after falling out of the League , but dear God does that rag go over board or what !
  16. Saw that tweet, and the one after.... apparently THAT's what having a Billionaire chairman is all about, who knew .
  17. I have mates that are gAss , and you can understand them celebrating. It may annoy me but it's another promotion, and however it comes you'd celebrate too but..... All the City we are coming to get you posts ? I didn't even think about them after we did it last year. In fact if it hadn't been the digs from some deluded blues I wouldn't have thought about them all season, let alone on the day of our promotion ! That was the game Vs Bradford 6-0 , not a last minute goal Vs a confirmed Non League side (now don't be mean and say that's their level). The Taylor is better than Kodjia posts are interesting. he (Taylor) is top scorer and fair play but some perspective. He has scored 4 more goals than a player that couldn't buy a goal for years, and to compare L2 goals with Championship goals (ignoring the new Country stuff etc) is ridiculous. Like comparing Championship with (as there aren't 2 Div's above us) Europe , International ? Still when does common sense or logic enter their heads (there are exceptions but not too many for a day or so). L1 is a bit more of a step up, many teams have done well in their first League season but I think they will need investment on and off the pitch. Obviously not a problem for the mega rich Chelsea fan from the 6th richest club in the universe . Things to look out for during the summer...... Their new ground progress, will the money become available? New investment news has been sparse. New signings, a statement of intent or will the ground limit funds. Daryl level ? Step up for club and manager, can he be tempted away from side on the verge of the Prem?? Will Taylor be tempted away? A sure way for him to cash in is move, may have been his best season and a move normally means higher wages. Anyway that's enough of that, I'm sick of the sight of those Jesters shirts and blue in general. As i said I get the celebration, but not the obsession with us? I'll leave you with a quote, not sure if it was Noel Coward, Shakespear or James Joyce who once said .... " Wer r goub up I say we t gpi. Up. We r goin up we r goub up. Not do RC in sote. Yyyyueerrrrrrree "
  18. I've seen the 'coming for you City' posts, we will see what their Gazillionaire owner does now. Prem in 5 years and new 40k seater stadium minium I'd expect. As people have said , the last thing on my mind last year when we went up, was the Non entities form South Glos !
  19. Villa get £67m for abject failure this year. They get approaching £40m for the next 3 if they don't go up, also the owner want to sell so needs short term success or someone to realise their massive potential. We aren't shopping in the same stores really, but what I would say is the ones that come to us will WANT to play for us which can make a big difference . We need to build steadily and recruit right to avoid the balls us from before when SL chased the dream.
  20. There is previous, didn't Jim Eadie get caught nicking a dozen pasties and a TV from the Bar that used to back onto the Tote end ....... oh, sorry you were serious ??
