  1. He said he loves it as it's so flexible ????? Says the least flexible manager ever !!
  2. Too tight to moan about offside, was a Pen but I'd be more annoyed we haven't started yet.
  3. Yeah, he's bitter. What he didn't say is he would have cost a fee, if he would have come. Water under the bridge , but Cott's likes a little subtle dig
  4. Always does, I do like listening to him when we're not playing his team, or if he's on the radio. Otherwise I think he's a **** !
  5. Couldn't get a full team out ? Forgot to book the pitch ? Forgot to book a Ref ? I ran little teams for a while and we've all done it.
  6. You set up one way, and to be fair for the first 3mins we looked like we could coast (without creating too much) . Then we lost our way a little and something had to change. We now have the squad to change shape, formation and focus and fair play to LJ for doing that. Just wish we could dominate possession in the latter stages so I could relax a little. They were poor !
  7. He's friends with Tony , sorry Sir Tony Robinson on Twitter, he'a been getting tips
  8. As I'm always wrong with predictions, and I'm quite possibly THE worst gambler in history I've ignored logic, given way to the heart sentiment and I have Tammy first goal and City to win 3-0 £1 @ 50/1 COYR
  9. Yep, I was at the Glos cup game and did the same. Think we won on Pens , then ran on at the end (14 at the time) they came on and chased us off the pitch, virtually all kids , I managed to hurdle the fence into the enclosure. As for every other game there, never had a problem, Although it came close when they played West ham one year...... that's another story. EDIT: BTW for a matter of interest as they think this pisstake thread is obsession rather than comedy gold. I made it through the first 3 thread on their gAssHat forum before giving up. Surprise , surprise all 3 end up mentioning us... Deluded, pathological lairs , obsessed and hypocritical , sums it up I think.
  10. TBF 800 to Sheffield on a week night is good, even though they haven't played them this century or whatever, that's a decent following. Credit where it's due (something else they never do). Now if they could just average over 8 1/2 k at home that would be progress
  11. For the odd City fan who regularly comes up with the 'I don't get the hatred of the gAss' bit this is one reason, the blind hypocrisy. As someone said earlier in the thread , at the Owners BBC Love in, the extent of the ambition as stated by more than one was to be above us. And yet we read the above !! Many years ago , during a time when they had beaten us a few times all the gAss I knew kept banging on 'oh you haven't beaten us for xxxxx !' but as soon as we started winning and I mentioned that we'd won the last few games, ah well that's history , means nothing. Oh and BTW , if you only care for the gAss , what the **** are you doing on here?
  12. Pack was brilliant , Tomlin excellent and ....... what's he point. They all played well, even though we were given a torrid time in spells. Mag's was getting roughed up and bullied but stuck to it and did ok. JB was struggling with Sacko but did really well getting forward , Bobby looks to be learninng from LT. Funny enough Tammy was the worst out there, they really did a number on him and we really didn't help him but missed a couple of decent chances. And I have to mention Freeman and Wilbs,AW showed what experience can do, gave their cb's much more to think about in his cameo than Tammy did all night. LF had an excellent game, If I was being picky he maybe could have helped Joe more but lucky not to be booked for that blatant dive !
  13. Bit like Strongbow then Miners strike,3 day week and power cuts......... ahhh the good old days. Wasn't allowed to go, listened to the radio while playing football in the local school, which was closed.
  14. We were just getting in the stand and stopped to watch the attack, we scored with the stewards shouting at us to sit down . The rest of the game was the longest 89 minutes ever !
  15. My game by game book ends that year, he isn't listed as playing after a 2-0 defeat at Rotherham in Jan 87. Looks like we came into some money just after, Trevor morgan, Jordan and Steve Galliers came in just after , with Micky Tanner getting a run as well.
  16. Yep , a week or two before Wembley. As far as I can see Bobby Hutch left in the following Jan. I wish I could recall things without resorting to books, but age and alchol has really taken it's toll
  17. Waugh , Newman, B.Williams, Moyes , McPhail , Riley , Hamson , Hutchinson , Harle , Walsh , Neville. ........... Neville got 2 and Walsh pen. according to my book Didn't go to this one , don't know why as I went most games around that time. All I can remember from Craven cottage trips are draws and losses , until lastt year Hibbit didn't play for us , hated that bloke even before he played for 'them' !
  18. While I think it's good opposition fans are allowed to post on here I do think the line should be drawn at complete ****wits ! But hey I'll bite. Abraham is on a season loan, as a striker. Now you may not quite grasp the nuances of modern football, so I will attempt to enlighten you. Strikers are employed to score goals , their role is to finish off move by putting the ball, into the net. If you are still with me , you may have had a moment of clarity and realised he is doing exactly what he is here to try and do. Admittedly , he is probably doing rather better than expected but he is doing what he was brought in for . If you're going to mention late goals , the first minute counts just as much as the last and a goals count the same, for or against , you may feel aggrieved or elated but it's just part of the 90 minute game( it's not really added time more 'lost' time ). As for one man team , FFS , it's not like he does it all on his own. Clive Allen 1986-87 , scored nearly 50 goals for Spurs . Surely the epitome of a 'one man team'??? Except that team had Waddle , Hoddle , Ray Clemence , Steve Hodge and the list goes on. One man teams may exist at school level where you get one player and ten others , but not in pro sport. Stand out players maybe, stars even , but one man team nah, not even yours. Oh and on that point, what will you do when your only player leaves in Jan ? Be interesting to see what happens with the few hundred thou' you get, re-invest in players for your relegation fight (if you slip that way) , or will it be used to take your owner closer to Billionaire status ? Just sayin'
  19. I like this, the equivalent of speaking slowly to the hard of thinking .
  20. This really bugs me, I hate hypocrites, and 'THEY' just don't see it.
  21. Tbf , they are now financially secure or at least safe in the short term. In that respect he's done a good job (where that debt has gone maybe another question.) What I don't get is originally , under Higgs , I thought everything was in place . If Sainsbury's had bought the ground it was all systems go. Now their new leader is doing feasibility studies . I thought the stall was funding , I don't blame him for not wanting to spend a large proportion of his (his families ? ) personal wealth on something that they won't own outright, but (and I've said before , I'm no financial wiz ) if the risk is too great for you and you own the club how will they attract investors who would want a large return on their investment. Another point ..... If the delusional gAss had not come out with all the Billionaire , 6th richest club in the world , Prem in three years , we're coming for you BULL then this thread would have died a long time ago. They are the gift that keeps giving , even though they don't realise and many on here don't want it !
  22. Possession isn't everything , still think we have enough about us to turn it around but we need to start being clinical.
