  1. These are just like telephone nos to most of us. The man on the street could live comfortably on a small percentage of SLs wealth. If you have enough money that 10 million is insignificant , then you will never have enough. But it's Steves money and he's earned it and it's up to him how he spends it and protects it. I'm the same as bcfc01, go somewhere warmer.

  2. Nigel is definitely building a head of steam with these players but we relying a lot on the younger players having enough to see the season out. We should be ok but I'll be a lot happier with a couple more quick wins under our belt. One problem that could arise later is if bigger clubs start looking at our youngsters and their heads get turned.  Its up to Nigel and the coaches to keep them focused on the job in hand. The future could be so bright for them and this club, but the finances will call the shots as it always does. We may survive this season only to have to start again next year with another rebuild. I bl**dy enjoyed yesterday though!!

  3. Mitrovic is very good but he's also very clever. Twice yesterday he outjumped our defenders by knocking them off balance before the ball arrived. It was more obvious on replays but not during live play therefore not spotted by the officials. I think had there been VAR active yesterday, the scoreline may have been different. He won't get away with that in the prem. Having said that, we need to toughen up more and be more clever ourselves, and for God's sake let's stop making it so easy for the opposition to get crosses in. We always stand off. It boils my p$ss. All teams play the flanks against us cos they've sussed us out.

IMO, stick him up front for the 2nd half of the season and use any money available to strengthen things at the back and add some creativity to get the ball into the box. More affordable than a striker

That's fine as long as he doesn't get injured. But I agree about playing him as striker, it's his best position.

  5. I think things could change for us with a little luck. Just a goal going in off Martins backside, or Wells shoulder, or even  Semenyo closing down their keeper, could suddenly lift the spirits of that player. Surely sometime this season someone, other than Weimann,  will score 2 in a game.

Glad to have Lansdown, but these figures are by and large his fault.

We had a really trim quality squad that needed two or three additions. Then he let Johnson and Ashton take him to the cleaners and treble the wage bill. This was always coming.

My thinking also. We always try to "rebuild" rather than "top up" what we have.

I think it would be very bold of Palmer to claim that he hasn't been given sufficient chances during his time with us.

Your last sentence is an interesting one. IMO it's for players to earn consecutive games by showing they are good enough, as oppose to being granted consecutive games and essentially having to prove they're not good enough.

Which is why I compared him to Martin who IMO has proved nothing this season, but appears un droppable.

  8. Give him a run of games to see what he can do when given a long enough run. We have done that with Martin this season so why not with Kasey Palmer?  In and out the team with the occasional 15min sub appearance is not enough to judge. If we have to keep paying him we might as well play him. I think there is a player in there but I agree he hasn't proved himself yet, which is why I say give him some proper game time

The Cheif Medical officers are naturally very cautious in same way lawyers always are, which is fair & to be respected.

The PM has such low trust & credibility that it’s impossible to support any of his narratives.

There’s a lot of uncertainty but also the playing field is starting to level up through Vaccines, Awareness & Measures.

Living in a world of 24/7 news channels doesn’t help.

We’re further ahead than same time last year, but not out of the woods by any means so we need to accept those less at risk can live a more normalised life & those at higher risk need to live more cautiously for now.

Those who are low risk but have contact with high risk have the important role & decisions to make - at this time of year it might be sensible to take a rain check on attending events to keep their high risk family safe.

I don’t see the need for all the partisan sh1t on here & accept everyone is in a different place & had to manage their own risk.

The highlighted bit represents my view. I am a triple jabbed, flu jabbed , masked wearer, hand washing,  guidance follower, who is fed up to the back teeth with the current and incoming restrictions and would normally be at the match whatever. BUT, I have a partner who is vulnerable and she is my absolute priority.  Yes I will be going out doing what I have to at this time of the year,  but football is so insignificant in the greater scheme of things. Each to their own but please put things in perspective.  Season greetings and good health to all.
