Open on a rowdy Ashton Gate. Bristol City are playing Leicester City and it’s the 93rd minute. Leicester are winning 1-0.

Taylor Gardner Hickman places the ball down for one last gasp corner. We hear the crowd roar and feel the tension bursting through the screen.

The commentator, half defeated, half hopeful, lets out his final rallying cry to the fans at home. “This is it. There can’t be many more chances for Bristol City to equalise.”

The corner’s taken. It’s not great. It’s too close to the keeper but just far enough away that his punch doesn’t clear the area. From the edge of the box Ross McCrorie scuffs a shot… but the messy hit confuses the Leicester defenders who anticipated an easy, low drive into the bottom left corner.

In the confusion, the ball bounces of multiple Leicester players - their legs, torsos, arses. It falls into the six yard box. The keeper, flailing on the ground can’t reach.

Suddenly, Zak Vyner - with his back to goal - stumbles and falls over. He’s tripping over his own boots, staggering once, then twice before hitting the ground.

He somehow manages to stick out his leg. Through the crowd of lunging, exhausted players his toe touches the ball. It trickles towards the line… will it? won’t it?

The keeper scrambles once more… but it’s not enough. The ball slowly crosses the line. The crowd erupts - limbs everywhere. This is the beauty of football without VAR. Pure emotion.

Zak leaps to his feet, a huge smile across his face. He runs to the City faithful, arms wide open. They adore him.

He stops momentarily in front of the crowd, soaking in the atmosphere and what he’s just achieved. He thumps the badge then, in one swift movement, grabs the hem of his shirt - triumphantly yanking it over his head.

We see it. The t-shirt under his shirt. We see it…

    ONYEGO

We fade to black. Logo and lock-up.

    We fade again.

    A FEVER PITCH PRODUCTION

If we have a last gasp corner we would play it short and recycle it back to Max and the ref would blow up for full time. Its Manningball!

    Another email today.

Won't be long til they have Liam Manning knocking on my door begging me to renew.

Instead of asking us to renew they should be asking us why we haven't.

  3. Doug Harman was involved at one time and as I've mentioned before, if Scott Davidson is still at the club doing the ex players heritage thing, he could join as Chairman and move Jon to vice chairman. Send Tins back to the academy where his best work was then that only leaves Manning to sort out plus of course a  CEO.  Hmmmm, quite a mess then really.

The Board , and it is a stretch calling it that , seems to be made up of  Gavin Marshall , Director and Jon Lansdown Chairman.

Google says "A typical board of directors has nine members, but some have three, and others have 31" .
So we are at the streamlined end of the spectrum to say the least.

As for clout , if Jon wants to do something and Marshall is opposed ? He'll just tell Dad and he'll do whatever he wants . If Marshall has an idea , then Jon tells Dad and he'll do whatever he wants.

Board of two ffs. I've been in bigger card schools.

Steve lansdown does not attend board meetings, officially he is not even on the board

    Different voices are being heard

Which people actually make up the board at City. (And does it have any clout?)

Gould was excellent I thought, seemed to be a good buffer as well between NP and the board.

We were better off by far with Nige, Gould, Tins doing the academy stuff, and Jon sharpening his crayons.

What a shit show now.  I wonder if Scot Davidson fancies another crack at it?

In light of much recent discussion about the frequency and content of communications by our club, I thought I'd post this, released today by Mark Palios, Chairman of Tranmere.

    https://www.tranmererovers.co.uk/news/2024/march/an-update-from-chairman-mark-palios/

It's a very lengthy read which covers pretty much everything that a Tranmere fan would want to know about - from on pitch matters including transfers and budgets to potential investment/sale and new stadium, matchday experience, community work and season tickets including response to some negativity around pricing.

Of particular note is this bit, where he talks about the appointment and firing of Ian Dawes as manager last summer. Dawes was their Dean Holden appointment, the long-serving assistant who'd had a decent spell as interim manager and so got the gig permanently. It didn't work out and he was moved on within a few months of the season starting, to be replaced by Nigel Adkins who'd joined in the summer as Technical Director:

Palios isn't universally popular amongst Tranmere fans and has faced criticism over various things in recent months, with a growing number thinking that he's taken the club as far as he can. But the reaction to this has been overwhelmingly positive, with plenty of plaudits for his honesty and transparency even from those who disagree with him on certain things.

    Compare and contrast.......

That's what you call chairman/fans communication. Are you reading this Jon?

"As we embark on our journey towards the Premier League, the unwavering support of our fans is paramount. Renewing season tickets not only fuels our ambitions but unites us as a club, forging a collective spirit essential for success on and off the pitch." - Liam Manning, Bristol City Head Coach

    Sounds like Winston Churchill ffs.

Just got my new s t ordered as I have said before I am a fan so I go and support my club fine if you do not but do not mock other fans for not being loyal

Were you frightened someone was going to take your seat?  Loyalty is commendable but you could have made them sweat a bit. There really was no hurry.

Both on each other’s wavelength though! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes, pre-season friendly where we whooped them, but they said nice things like - you’re much better prepared than Swansea who we played last night

And a league cup tie where they stretched us on the counter a few times in the opening half hour and then we stuffed them.

He is gradually sucking the life out of the players.

Just like he's sucked it out of the fans. I've never felt so flat about my club and I started watching in 1956 ffs.

The club really should address how KO times will be affected by the TV deal. I know someone has already broached the subject with Jerry but the club should make an announcement before people start purchasing

On top of those proposed, could other be moved due to Bears or police requests?
