Your post raises another interesting point. You say what happens on the pitch has to be regarded differently to the wider society. Why is that so? It raises the issue of what happens on the pitch sometimes would be regarded as common assault on the street. Footballers are not above the law nor should they be beyond the Covid guidelines.
