  1. No. It wasn't. The atmosphere at the end of that near-promotion season was great, even the Preston game before the play-offs. The EE kept being opened to accommodate crowds if I remember rightly, it was all decent. To try to attribute any atmosphere or lack of to the manager at that time is absolutely ridiculous. For the love of god how on earth have you managed to steer a conversation from away fan segregation to GJ-bashing. Have a day off.
  2. Agreed. Everything is super accessible once you get there too. Yes the cities are some distance from each other, but once you're there they're pretty easy to get around. You could easily have 'hubs' for the various groups, and they have great stadiums too. A World Cup final at the MCG would be quite something. Yes we can feel a bit mugged off having lost to Russia but Australia losing to Qatar for 2022 was outrageous.
  3. I was in the concourse, watching the game on big screens in there as the bar had filled up. Quite annoying that we missed out on being in a viral video, it's probably been shown tens of millions of times on the Internet in various guises
  4. Could be that your account details have messed up. Have you changed your password lately? Perhaps delete the email account within Outlook, and re-add it again?
  5. Absolutely, it's uncanny. Criminally underrated sport over here, maybe we need a GAA thread for next time.
  6. Great part of the world. If you haven't heard of the 'curse' on the GAA team of Mayo, check it out. They've reached and failed to win 11 finals since it was supposedly placed on them.
  7. Only in Robbored-land could a man with 6 promotions not be a 'proper' manager . Imagine preferring to make yourself look like a tit rather than admitting that a man who utterly rinsed you is good at his job.
  8. Rather coincidentally, this video has just come out, from a presumably unbiased YouTube account: They literally describe the achievement of getting Yeovil to the Championship as being similar to Leicester winning the Premier League title. Crowds of just 4,000 and the lowest wage budget in League One of just £1,000,000 - roughly what we were paying Kasey Palmer alone if rumours are to be believed. This is after bringing the club up to League One from the Conference, and winning the FA Trophy. So even the neutrals seem to think GJ is a 'proper' manager - it seems the only one to disagree is one with a massive chip on their shoulder, whatever reason that may be
  9. Got to admit, with us playing the way we are, and with Leicester fans saying they can see the similarities, it's quite exciting. I'm not sure we're quite there yet for promotion, but 14/1 at Bet365 is looking tempting.
  10. I find it brilliant personally. The mere fact that the guy is willing to go to such bizarre lengths purely because he got told off by someone, outstanding.
  11. Oh my post wasn't a dig at GJ at all, it was praising him! I'm a huge fan of his and without him we wouldn't be where we are as a club. But I still stand by what I said about Pearson - ex-Premier League with a Championship under his belt. Gary Johnson was a top manager for us but he's not of the same calibre as Pearson imo. Along with Cotterill, probably our best manager since the 80s. My respect for him is absolutely there.
  12. Shades of Gary Johnson here as well to be fair. Pearson is lightyears ahead of GJ, but we shouldn't underestimate the culture change that GJ implemented, and one that we desperately needed. Filtering out the crap and replacing them with good eggs that put the club in a better position than before. Exactly the same as Nige is doing. Wilson was a good bloke and a good manager, but ultimately what cost him is probably that particular skill which both GJ and NP exhibit.
  13. The g-forces will be considerably higher nowadays than back then. Though these days they're rarely going flat out, due to the annoying rules meaning it's essentially more beneficial to just look after your tyres.
  14. Definitely this one for me
  15. After an excellent recommendation on here of Behind the Bastards, I'm looking for some new ones. Perhaps political, historical, sport, anything really. Thought it was worth a bump in case any new ones have popped up over previous months? So far I've also quite liked The Race for F1, and a couple of UTC, but for the most part I'm still pretty clueless as to what's good. I've also heard Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell have one, not sure how that is? Any new tips?
  16. 16/20, and I'm not even sure how I got most of them. More worried than impressed
  17. What are you expecting? If you're wanting another Class of 92 then you're always going to be pretty disappointed.
  18. Because if he was a yard back and onside we'd have still been nowhere near him
  19. I almost can't believe that's real. It's like someone joking and pretending to be David Brent, that's nuts.
  20. Interesting, I absolutely loved RDR2, thought it was incredible, but I do get that it's a slow start. Currently struggling for a new game myself. With a total lack of options out there, like a total mug I've just gone and bought GTA V for the fourth time on a different platform... ?. It would really help to try something new instead for once.
  21. From the creators of Boomtown, looks effin great. Looking at it I bet there'll be a few shroomed up people on their way there too
  22. You said 'any level'. Does football not exist outside Britain?
  23. If Robbored hasn't seen something then apparently it cannot exist.
  24. Yeah I have a few mates who did so, they were on the IEC working holiday visas. It's definitely a cool city, relatively young, modern and diverse. Plenty to do if that's your sort of thing. I've no idea what it's like on the outer suburbs though if you were looking for a quieter life.
