  1. Closer to home, had a quick browse of the Action for Albion website. Excellent and I wish them well in holding their ownership to account. These are the clubs ie West Brom's words but a couple of interesting snippets on the finances. Ironically I think the enforced cost cutting post Parachute Payments, it could see them fine with FFP but could lead to struggles on pitch. Wages, just the projected 130-140 pct of turnover this season. Mind you it isn't so different to varied clubs in the League I imagine. A key difference being that their owner is unable, unwilling or both to put his own cash in from an equity or cash flow perspective- the MSD loan will help but racks up interest and the club themselves are owed loan(s) taken out by Lai and Peace https://www.actionforalbion.co.uk/meeting-minutes-jun-21/
  2. Wow thanks, didn't realise it was quite that bad. Corberan will do well to keep them up perhaps in tbis case, just looked at the squad earlier and thought it wasn't so terrible..that sounds like the new Derby in some ways though. Cash Flow sounds terrible, FFP a bit of s surprise- I've ummed and aahed but think that if it comes would be in 2024-25 not 2023-24.
  3. I disagree with those who way we can go at the top 2, however a crack at the playoffs- why shouldn't we believe we have a chance of this. At least contenders- if you look at the positives there are a fair few to take. The injury situation needs to improve further, I think we are a Goalie to really push or supersde O'Leary and a Centre Back light but at the same time FFP limits everyone. Perhaps we can stretch to one of these, not both. Bit of luck with officiating wouldn't go amiss either. In respect of Scott if we don't get the bid perhaps he stays, if we do get bids that match or exceed our valuation I dunno even if I think one more development year here could serve him well especially as this is the strongest most cohesive City side he will have played in. Once the wages from a richer and higher ranked club come on offer as the higher profile will keeping him be realistic?
  4. Appreciate that phantom, thanks for the deletion. Yeah I was a saying to a mate the other day, who was looking at going to it but they are working that we often travel well up to Birmingham and around London area, South Wales, South West etc. Perhaps not so much East of London ie Kent etc.
  5. Tbh I haven't been since 2019 to Millwall away and if it was a bigger allocation I do take back some of my points and wouldn't mind my q to Jerry being removed too. Thanks for clarifying that bit. I suppose my thinking here was along the lines of- Optimism, be a season, first away game and in London at that- as big an away allocation as possible would be great. I reckon it'll sell out tbh our allocation, but same time I wasn't even sure if it would make General Sale.
  6. I'm still a little conflicted on whether it's right, probably if they want to give him the send-off he deserves but..we seem to have been deprived of up to a few hundred tickets due to this unusual arrangement. Unique circumstances of course and we, are the first League away fixture there.
  7. Some of their fans say Silva getting edgy as they can't improve as they would like due to FFP so the two might be connected to some extent. £40m now.
  8. FFP biting a bit at Fulham? Good if so, given losses and yes Promotion Bonuses and Covid of. Before tax: 2017-18, £45.241m 2018-19, £20.18m 2019-20, £48.112m 2020-21, £93.516m 2021-22, £57.017m It's about time wouldn't we say. What a shame.
  9. Not convinced about insurance payouts and football- @Coppello covered it a while ago but surely it would only cover the wages he is due if at all. How do you insure someone with a book value of zero. Being an Academy product via Guernsey will be zero or near as dammit, there's very little to amortise. Of course tbis isn't an argument to sell but can you insure against expected transfer revenue/profit?
  10. To add a little, I do take your point about Twitter @Northern Red but this bit seemed somewhat irritating.
  11. I wouldn't write off WBA entirely but there are a few things that need to fall in their favour from here IMO. Kipre and Mowatt returning could hit the ground running again, they both have ability at this level. That aside rather depends IMO on how many more go from here. Yeah their depth still thinning out but I think they may hope for some loanees too. Otoh the aforementioned Kipre and Mowatt plus Alex Palmer in goal, Swift and Yokuslu in midfield, Wallace out wide and Dike fitness permitting oh Molumby too in midfield, should give them some hope. Quite like Thomas-Asante too! A sprinkling of experienced Championship players around the squad too. Most importantly retaining Corberan. I imagine he has them quite unified but if he was to walk...
  12. Fair I suppose. Social media does amplify loud voices..it's some anyway.
  13. Dunno if it's just me but finding some Wolves fans well it's Twitter I guess and amplifies loud voices fairly insufferable. Percy this, replies to Scott's Tweets that, some now claiming they've met the asking price, their kit launch with Scott appearing in it. Almost as if there is an air of entitlement and inevitably about adding Scott.
  14. On the flipside we are increasingly cohesive as a unit, our young players such as Bell and Conway are a year on in experience and players such as Mehmeti and Cornick will have had a full pre-season. Tanner and Pring McCrorie and Roberts is quite a good range. Knight has a bit of a goal threat too or can do. Less injuries wouldn't go amiss. We need less medium term injuries if we are to operate a relatively tight squad. This is if Scott stays. Two or three new signings..if Scott goes, in priority positions surely is a bit of a must. GK, CB especially left sided and a midfielder. I think you're unduly pessimistic but we will need some luck too of course.
  15. I'm convinced that this is tied to, in the case of Dilks especially, Pearson and his- at best disappointing- few months in charge of Derby in 2016.. Dilks is very much a Derby fan and it shows, dunno who Peach supports.
  16. On a general note, middling or non fire sale needed clubs are not really bowing down to the big boys this summer and selling on the cheap go the bigger or richer clubs on the cheap which is a interesting sign. Bit different in La Liga owing to every player having a buyout clause. West Ham with Rice a key one, Brighton with Caicedo another. Neither Manchester club are finding it easy to get their targets, Gvardiol to Man City and Hojlund to Man United. Both I assume not in FFP or cash flow difficulties. Napoli have put a major price tag on Oshimen.
  17. We've only occasionally post 2016-17 had home fans in the Atyeo the same stand. Both Manchester clubs in 2017-18 and the six pointer v Derby in 2019 cor the play-off race. Can't remember too many more.
  18. I'm a little surprised to see Blackburn tipped to hit the playoffs given the departure of Brereton-Diaz plus experience in the form of Ayala and Dack albeit those two had varying game time. Surprised to see us predicted to go backwards despite the growth of the team especially the young players, the better environment ie more stable not fire-fighting, the marked improvement of form post the 4-3-3 switch.
  19. £1bn over 10 years according to oner report is what they're willing to offer him... This would break any and every FFP rule in the book that has ever existed, PSG that is!! They are markedly worse than Man City IMO who trade increasing numbers of players and the profit they get on youth is quite incredible Man City that is.
  20. Sheffield Wednesday did this in 2018 I believe, unsure for how long but they're back on board now.
  21. That's fair I suppose. Fuss about allocation aside, Millwall and our fans in fans same stand albeit split and segregated could be an interesting one to police and steward but I guess the sad passing of their owner should take a bit of edge off things.
  22. I don't think I've ever had the ahem pleasure of going to the city of Wolverhampton! Not sure it'll be on my bucket list, if it ever was. Perhaps the Wolves shirt stuff irritated me more than it should Idk but it did irritate.
  23. It appears to me that if we are allocated 1,700 then perhaps it 8s in breach of the EFL 10 pct of capacity or 2k rule. This seems to be 15 pct lower than it might be.
  24. On a general Wolves note, did make me chuckle on Twitter a host of their fans seemed to be thinking that Scott would be wearing this seasons shirt which seems to have been out today. Little arrogant I feel given that as far as we know, a bid has not been accepted yet and he remains our player for now. It's quite arrogant on their part so I'm glad that's burst their bubble even if only temporarily.
  25. Was browsing the Wolves forum Transfer thread again looking for stuff about Scott..some of them still seem to think FFP is about net spend. Been around over a decade, they were saying thay because they have raised £80 odd million in fees they can spend not far off that. By profit it doesn't mean a net spend profit but they clearly require a profit of £x on disposal of players.
