  1. True, no immediate hurry. At what point would you start to get edgy over it, if at all? Remember he can talk to European clubs from the final 6 months of his deal to line up a free agent move if it comes down to that.
  2. He himself is a good, dare I say a very good accountant..a trained one of many years standing! I guess the Pula side of things would yield the ultimate answer but that's in a jurisdiction that cannot be seen by us- but it looks legit to me..the logical step on from what you're saying would be that some revenue hidden from Ashton Gate Limited basically and straight to SL. That in effect if revenue for AGL was £15m as stated but true revenue say £25m, he's getting £10m disappearing without trace from the accounts, into thin air.
  3. Scott has had a contract offer on the table for a while now hasn't he? SL first mentioned it in January but dunno whether it was new as of then or if it had been on offer for longer.
  4. The Loan wage non payment issue hasn't really got any coverage, I wonder if it was on loanees who didn't fit the Agreed Decision otherwise FFP would have been threatened yet again?? Said they failed to pay £500,000. Said they settled it last week but I wonder if that was yet anroehr FFP related problem...as in if it was settled in 2023-24 it may not fall within the 2022-23 accounts and therefore a period ending in 2022-23. Regaining Category One status is bizarre in these circs, was also bizarre that Derby managed to hold onto it when in administration and at threat of liquidation last June.
  5. Supposing the price tag puts West Ham off, that's one option we might have to off. They could be signing anything up to 3 midfielders but that's far from confirmed.
  6. Well it's a wage saving at least if so. Could it have offset a bit of the fee for Knight maybe the no fee aspect?
  7. Alvarez, Ward-Prowse and Zakaria all linked to varying degrees..we can them off if that came off.
  8. West Ham reportedly coming back for Alvarez atm. They were linked with him earlier in the window but I dunno if the Rice delay created a logjam. Borussia Dortmund were keen (on Alvarez) but seem to have stepped back. Zakaria is also reportedly getting closer to West Ham. I'd say they need up to 3 midfielders given the departure of Lanzini and Rice.
  9. This bit confuses the hell out of me, how on earth can PSG have complied to 2022 given the size of the breach. Yes I know, their owner Ceferin ties but what sort of target were they given?? ? They lost €375m pre-tax in that year...I think they hit through it by €200-250m when you consider past profits, Covid add-backs and the €30m limit. I will try to start to unpick the past PSG nonsense again..they're miles and miles and miles beyond to 2022. This was it to 2021. The 2022 is behind a substack and of course they're a multi club so maybe some wages and amortisation can be offset to that but I mean..words (almost) fail me.
  10. Yeah it can just be for those ones, just wonder if the League might look again at some Covid claims in the wake. I still query transfer market ones e.g. I don't like the Nottingham Forest £12m Projection for 2021-22 and I expect the Stoke one is suspect. Fulham have huge losses but moving between divisions can complicate. Bournemouth I wonder to a small extent too.
  11. I get the feeling that clubs will low-ball for obvious commercial reasons. How this affect the dynamics if at all, ie Scott and his agent.
  12. Fined due to FFP.. Man United!? By UEFA and it I assume is the period ending 2022-23...actually seems it is the period ending 2021-22! However this was a favourable cycle for them, link in The Sun originally but the Daily Mirror now. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/breaking-man-utd-fine-uefa-30467784 This is pre-dating their £149m pre tax loss in 2021-22, ie includes Covid losses which were only allocated as €15m bizarrely and if that's the case then Stoke, and potentially Nottingham Forest and Fulham need looking at further. I'll have to find some kinda Settlement or judgement. You could absolutely revisit Everton based on this, whereas Aston Villa, Leicester and Wolves are okay to 2022 and probably 2023. Implications for the EFL @Davefevs @Hxj Looked at hsong this criteria, Stoke, Nottingham Forest and maybe Fulham would all look interesting.
  13. Some admittedly only the Bournemouth forum are suggesting it might be £18m or something between £15-20m, with it rising to the latter with add-ons. Granted I don't take transfer chat on a forum as gospel (unless is @Bcfcshags obviously). However if it's £18m or the rising to £20m with add-ons then once again??
  14. Well it depends how you spread it, amortisation, wages loan fees whatever. I think our losses will be £15-20m this year, without sales of course and likely closer to £20m of that range. Or do we wish to measure cadh losses rather than profit and loss account- the latter is pertinent for FFP hut the lower the cash losses, the less equity SL needs to convert or the less cash or loans he needs to put in to keep the lights on!
  15. 1. Largely agreed. 2. I wouldn't disagree. Football economics are a madhouse..and then some! 3. Yep. 4. Interesting..although as it stands at present, stadium revenue mostly flows to club what with Ashton Gate Limited sitting under Bristol City Holdings. I assume that the rugby related portion would of course flow to the rugby club. Interesting last paragraph without a doubt. A change moving forward or? Then losing money can mean very different things, could be that we spend as close to FFP as possible without breaking it or it could be that we try to get as close to breakeven as possible.
  16. I also do recall a comment by SL in April though, sticks in the mind in his pre game interview before Burnley. "What football makes, football can spend". If we do make £25m and it's pure profit remember, could we put £10-15m back in. Not on fees as such but amortisation, fees, loan fees etc. Clearly increase or decrease a bit subject to final fee, either in percentage or absolute terms.
  17. Wow. That's.. Hopefully we can avoid the madness a little but at this level it can drag everyone up or down as the case may be! I suppose it's maybe still a bit of a net fall if say pre Covid levels vs a higher TV deal but that's not positive given what the industry went through, still football has short memories. Think FFP and agents/players demands may come into conflict soon if so.
  18. ...And breathe!! Phew. Thanks Dave, calculator down.. Wider point I believe we don't need to sell Scott or anyone this summer and the £28.5m loss will drop off after this season so depending on our inbound activity under the current regs we don't really need to sell anyone if we don't want to for the foreseeable. TV deal increases from 2024-25 although that boosts everyone. It may depend too on how close to the line we want to run it each season. Total Operating Costs not exceeding £50m and we likely fall within the annual £13m. (Assuming a typical turnover of around £30m or thereabouts). Do agree with the wider post.
  19. Ah but this was before or after the January activity? I may have to revise my FFP projections badly if it's the latter. The former and we're slightly better placed than I thought. FFP wise, I make our allowables to be £7m per season. Therefore if we can keep a total 3 year loss of £60m or below we are fine just about. Albeit right on the line. £62.5m to this season due to the remaining Covid year which gave a £2.5m allowance. Then there's solvency or just not running at a huge loss each year and that's a different consideration.
  20. Lavia would be next cab off the rank there and I've read he is homegrown but Van Den Berg is now homegrown but has been loaned out which moves it again a bit.
  21. Yeah seen that. Ramsey given he started there maybe would take a very low wage. Still don't see any cast iron confirmation from the Nice end that they've actually cancelled his contract- Cardiff cannot pay fees etc this window of course so would need to loan him without a loan fee or add him on a free which would need Nice to agree to cancel his contract. 10th July granted. https://www.ogcnice.com/en/article/124940/the-first-international-players-return.html If I was Nice, I'm sure I'd be looking to get a fee or loan fee from somewhere if he's not in the plans...or if he is because he played 34 times last year.
  22. Oh eyebrow raising. One for you @Owl Visiting Can't begin to unpick but read reports of a potential £30m loss in 2023-24?? Chansiri reportedly said this, guess Sheffield Wednesday have a blockbuster last 7 weeks before the end of the summer window lined up. Until the accounts are out for last year: Club Group: Sheffield Wednesday (Club) Sheffield 2 Limited (Parent or top co above club). Stadium Group: Sheffield 3 Limited (Stadium Company Owner of Hillsborough). Sheffield 5 Limited (Company that owns the Stadium Company) All due end of July. Then it's really quite hard to say.
  23. The bit I should point out, will the EFL investigation which was ongoing still continue- this being iirc the investigation as to whether they were secretly owned by a Cambodian diplomat. My view is that of course it should, but there are some suggestions at the Birmingham or have been that the EFL would like it quietly to slip away as charges, a Hearing etc would highlight some of their own shortcomings.
  24. Hard to say with Vyner, laat year felt like a bit of a breakthrough year didn't it. Can he maintain and push on is the question? In theory yes, as the sides level raises so might his. 25 isnt he, enterint peak age rsnfe and sfill a bit of room for growth- I'm leaning towards try and tie down if possible. Atkinson still out for a while, I'll be honest is Dickie right or left footed? I don't know! Vyner, Dickie, Atkinson remain our pure centre backs- yes I know that others can cover but think one more needed ideally although finances may dictate otherwise. Bit soon? Only 21, Goalkeepers can very much peak later, can hit peak years later than any other position, would we put Wiles-Richards ahead of him as our 3rd keeper?
  25. Before my time but sounds a real legend of the club. RIP Chris.
