  1. That s a bit of a change of a new arrival video. Welcome Haydon- looks another solid additions. 3 solid additions by mid June is certainly positive.
  2. McAtee is a year older though. Although player development isn't always take two players, plot them straight line on a graph against each other. Probably seldom is in fact.
  3. Interesting to see how this impacts the transfer market. Presumably Semendo to Sunderland, young Benfica striker is another example of this?
  4. Not quite the same position but does show they are willing to pay big at times. Scott and Johnson £25-30m each same window however?
  5. Suggestion about Scott . If Raya goes thst will improve Brentford's finances yet further. Finishing 9th in PL won't hurt either. (£30m pre tax profit in 2021-22). They are a relatively progressive side although varies depending on opposition, home away etc. In that respect only they are a bit like Bolton under Big Sam at their best. ie at home vs middling and lower sides go for it more. I digress. They're steadily moving towards a 4-3-3 as a first choice set-up. Could Scott slot into this? I'd argue they haven't fully replaced Eriksen, that creative presence in the middle of the 3- I wonder.
  6. Derby journo also said online that a move to Derby isn't happening.
  7. Real Madrid still rebuilding . They need a couple of key additions still, their midfield seems in place for the future- if they add Mbappe that is suddenly a game changer. He's been linked for a couple of years but could happen this summer.
  8. Reportedly bid £3.5m for Simms and set to clinch a loan for a young Palace player, Raj-Sakyi.
  9. Oh I agree on the club part, my angle is more what will be offered. Burnley maybe the only okay one of the 3
  10. Varies with Nixon. Seems better for clubs up North and in the Midlands.
  11. Nobody has yet met Scott valuation reportedly, albeit FLW is a bit of an aggregator with partial clickbait thrown in. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclusive-bristol-citys-25m-alex-scott-stance-could-encourage-burnley-sheffield-united-or-luton-town-action/ Certain level of scepticism from rival fans as to whether anyone will either. We shall see. Nixon also suggested that nobody has yet met it, a few days ago. I suppose we would know if a club had however. All that said the window has only recently opened.
  12. Borussia Dortmund are currently in for Alvarez and Nmecha. Thst I think would be if they get both, be their midfield business concluded for the summer especially as they don't intend to reinvest much more than 60-65 pct of transfer revenue back into the team. If they only get one or neither or those, perhaps they do come into the reckoning again.
  13. One small update. Been keeping an eye out and just checked again. Still awaiting 2021-22 numbers for: Huddersfield Town Peterborough United Sheffield United 1) The Football Club- The Sheffield United Football Club Limited 2) The Parent- Blades Leisure Limited Sheffield Wednesday 1) The Football Club- Sheffield Wednesday FC Limited 2) The Parent- Sheffield 2 Limited 3) The Stadium Company ie the one who purchased it- Sheffield 3 Limited 4) The Parent of the Stadium Company- Sheffield 5 Limited. The first two are in the football group, the second two in the Stadium group. First 3 took extension until end of June, latter until end of July. Cited Covid probably. Without extensions first 3 end of March and last group end of April respectively was when they were due by.
  14. Bang average even with the improved confidence, structure cohesiveness and retaining Scott? Really? Remember too Scott if he stays will be playing in a strengthening, improving side- with a more settled structure and shape, and some better players/depth around him.
  15. West Ham- Hard to say how many they'll sign. Palhinha seems to he their top target, but they can sign 2 or 3. Reportedly interested in Alvarez too, Ward-Prowse and Phillips also mentioned. Indeed now Yunus Musah Valencia, 20 year old and £21m. Born November 2002. Brighton- McAllister gone, Caicedo may well go. Otoh Dahoud and Milner in on trees- will they push the boat out given £30m on Joao Pedro, Reportedly bid £30m and now preparing £40m for Colwill CB- can we see Brighton bidding for 3 players amounts exceeding £20m?? In one summer? It could happen of course but maybe I'm underestimating their ambition this summer. Won't be short of some cash given a 6th place finish, European Revenue and all the transfer profits.
  16. We had a couple of games which showed the excellent fast counter attacking football but only in phases. Mostly not. Norwich at home still has the same characteristics but we lost. QPR at home 11 v 11 we were still somewhat dominant, Baker red and we had to adapt. Bolton away to some extent, we had some aspects of dominance but not in others. Sunderland at home first half. Leeds away first half. Sheffield Wednesday at home albeit they were injury hit. Thereafter barely any. That was it, our Cup games aside post say Wolves at home.
  17. We did have a reasonably thin squad but then again we should have made the playoffs. Not the only one as you say. Yeah that can he true but it in some ways isn't such a big excuse. Burnley 2008-09 had an identical Cup run to us albeit 3 rather than 5 PL sides and a couple more FA Cup games too. It actually propelled them off to compete in, and win the playoffs in May 2009. I do believe not making the playoffs from the position we were in on Boxing Day 2017..hmm.
  18. Seen a fair amount online, possibly I've jumped the gun. Was more of a wider thread really, how do moderately talented managers and perhaps less than moderately talented keep getting bottom third PL, top third Championship jobs. However Parker seems to be a favourite for sure. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scott-parker-leicester-city-how-8519414
  19. Decent write-up. Says we are still interested in Currie and Roberts predominantly a centre back. This depth chart is looking better by the week. Young, talented and versatile player on a free- this has to he decent plus quite early in the window so he can bed in, patterns of play etc.
  20. It's not an urgent priority but I went for keeper. O'Leary no problems but supposing he gets injured, or sent off or something or has to take some time off for personal problems- Bajic and Wiles-Richards next in line- relative age and lack if gametime in the Championship especially. Hmm. Keepers pushing each other, that competition will also keep O'Leary on his toes.
  21. He's got results up to a point. Albeit at Fulham he just about scraped them up with probably the highest wage bill that year. Bournemouth a bit lower but should have been easier than it was. Martin and Parker, Pearson would be a lot more suited I suspect. Thankfully he's here but I don't see the appeal with a lot of appointments bottom third, top end of Championship last season and early this upcoming season.
  22. From memory, someone I worked with lived near him in his final year here. I remember them intimating that he wasn't too bothered about City. Could be rubbish if course, maybe not too bothered isn't right but this was post January window- wasn't wildly passionate etc. Did be turn down a new deal here in 2018 or did I dream it?
  23. Yes he tends to take jobs where the odds are somewhat weighted in his favour then whinges see his sacking at Bournemouth in August 2022 when he has a bit more of a challenge.
  24. Liverpool also seem keen on him, need to restock their midfield but McAllister is one ticked off.
  25. Would hope so but the lack of news is a bit of a surprise although the option does buy time. Yeah Pring having 2 years left reduces some urgency. Don't see us moving on Weimann yet or trying to- useful for depth, versatile- knows the League, relatively low cost.
