  1. Indeed, one fella on Arsechat last thought they were:"....on an upward trajectory...." Hate to see what happens once they level out.....
  2. Given the quality of his set-up for their first I, too, would have been wildly delighted to have seen him off the pitch.
  3. The only realistic element of this image is their travel service leaving the stadium for another awayday. Two coaches and a car, spot on.....
  4. Fair play, Penrice looks like he's keeping himself in shape......
  5. Saw this on Twitter, Jeez the place is even more fly-tip central than I recall it.
  6. With interviews like that I'm already warming to Cockwomble.
  7. If it really is the case DC walked away then his epithet 'Dopey' was fully justified, though he'd be in a very small and usually short-term clique of managers who'd done likewise (usually for entirely justifiable reasons.) It also wouldn't accord with his professed love-in with both club and supporters. I for one don't believe a word of it....
  8. I take it the OP is an accountant and, if so (and don't take this the wrong way,) would take everything they say with a pinch of salt (for that's how accountants operate.) We were discussing City's position the other day post SL's informative talk to the Senior Reds. If we're only allowed to lose £39m over 3 years (we claim the larger amount as SL has personally increased his equity in the football club to cover its unsustainable losses,) I don't see how it is the football club lost £39.9m during the last 3 year period without being punished ( the £23.4 would also have breached the single year limit?) Perhaps there's some indexation discounting involved that drops the overall number just under the limit? I also don't fully understand how FFP relates to wider activity other than football and whether or not (as in our case) allowances are able to be made? The football club doesn't own beneficial control in Bristol Sport, The Stadium Company or the Holding Company, so presume ffp relates wholly to its accounts and nothing more? I believe the football club at present has net liabilities of £60m. And though SL may be happy to write that off as and when it's his time, it has to be worrying for the future.
  9. They're unlikely to find a manger either though mange I'd have thought rampant throughout the tented village.
  10. Or perhaps a more sinister interpretation. You realise that 'The Rollers' manager (and later drummer) were implicated in the, how shall we put this, tree of the Yew investigations? Small world but my wife once owned a property previously occupied by Uncle Tam. I can assure you if bottom line is to keep things up at all costs those bedrooms would indicate Rovers are safe from relegation anytime soon .....
  11. That would be telling, suffice to say from within the game.
  12. Always amazed The Gas never adopted CH's 'Locked Out' as an Irene replacement....
  13. Cotterill would be a perfect match for The Gas. Put it this way, within football he isn't on many Christmas card lists and is largely loathed for having an attitude that betrays more about misplaced confidence in himself than any innate talent. To his credit he gave us a season to remember (worryingly might do similar for them,) only to undo all that work by letting his 'character' come to the fore. Only the desperate would offer him a route back post Birmingham.
  14. Until today I really, really hated Christmas Jumpers but Marcus Stewart's changed my mind......
  15. Yeah, blame land for being, er, land.
  16. Here's a thought. What with Marcus walking as well any chance he and DC might have been aware of an audacious plan such as to write this season off, enter administration with the points deduction immaterial, such they wanted out before any compo package became minimum redundancy? Possibly a way of clearing debts and allowing Wael to maximize what preferential share he's due.
  17. No chance. If at the bar they flog pretend Fanta chances are they also sell pretend Coke.
  18. If misconduct we'd have heard about it via the LMA and he would first have been suspended, that route normally takes a few weeks other than had he committed a violent or criminal act (managing The Gas sadly isn't the latter.) For an ex employer to imply an ex employee would be 'taking a break' implies there's a reason he might not start work elsewhere tomorrow. Either they've agreed such terms in his release (why, as reduces any mitigation claim?) else it implies there are certain restrictions that prevent him working elsewhere.
  19. "...after a well deserved break..." is a very odd phrase to include in the statement. Implies to me that if we don't hear of him going somewhere in the short-term that he's on gardening leave and still under contract. Perhaps they don't have the wherewithal to pay him off straight away.
  20. He originates from Withywood - I went to primary school with his father.
  21. Personally thought it might be: "Look out, Darrel, there's a white boat coming up The Feeder, With a big red beacon and a flag......... "
  22. In your dreams. Best they might hope for would be the Western League (somewhere pyramid 9-10,) though Hellenic would be more appropriate given their similarity to the Greek economy and the fact they've both lost their marbles......
  23. Sorry I'm out of touch but - who's Neil? All the tuareg seem to be banging on about tonight is: "We played our best for Neil..... We couldn't have given any more for Neil......"
  24. 'Affordable Bar' - as opposed to what, an Unaffordable Bar? Given there was all hell to pay over the £2 sausage roll what's the spread on charging for tins of Lidl's imitation 'Red Barrel'?
