If this is true?    What a let down.    A club like ours should be casting its net widely all over Europe to find a young progressive tracksuit coach, like a Farke or Frank type (Yes i know that is a cliche).....but that is exactly what this club needs?   Instead we take the easy option off of the merry go round of sacked managers.....no ambition no foresight?   If we were intending to get rid of NP, why didn't we spend a few months looking at possible replacements, vetting them, researching them, and talking to candidates?    Instead it's a case of who's out of job, and is gonna be grateful to be employed, and lets make sure he is a YES man who won't upset anyone?    It is all so very tedious IMO.

Totally agree but what experienced, proven manager is going to come here and be told that his Director of Football is a nobody who had a decent left foot and had one stab at management and completely screwed it up but then brown nosed his way to a position of power and oversaw the sacking of a manager who built a Premier league winning squad and was the most popular manager we'd had for years?

Fair to say some you on here have been serious fans over the years.  I always played Saturday, trained Tuesday, so feel a bit a “part-time Bill” up against loads of you.  Went when I could, but it’s only in recent years (2013) that I started going every week.

    i’m not worthy! ⭐⭐⭐

Oh you are mate. Stand down soldier, it's been a tough few days

I have never felt the guy had a clue other than being in it for his own vain agenda.

Got a stand named after him,job done.

Now **** off amd let some worthy of having a stand named after him.

Let's not forget the single ownership rules to stop financial melt down that he ripped up. So all this debt is squarely on him.

He is a complete arse in my book

Way I see it is that he's a businessman trying to run a football club with no idea how to and trying to make it run like his businesses do. He hasn't got the feel for a football club. He doesn't appoint football experts around him and consult them. I know Tins has done a decent job with youths/loans but he's not exactly top class.

Pearson was old school and took no sh1t from anyone. It was only ever going to end one way after he spoke out about lack of communication from above. Yes, he deserves a new contract but it wasn't going to happen.

Not many Somerset born footballers make it to the top.

Tyrone Mills, Jack Butland and Tommy are all I can think of atm.

Is it too late for him to be English again instead of Scottish?

    Steve Phillips Paulton Rovers?

  5. Sounds like he's found his rock bottom and is on his way back with proper help and guidance. Sharing his problems is a huge step and one that takes immense courage. I have so much respect for him talking publicly about stuff that must be very painful.

On his day he's a magnificent footballer, graced with so much natural talent. I think Dyche will be an excellent manager to help him try to get back to his best.

    Good luck Dele ❤️

"we're still in the bottom half of the championship where our general aim has been to get into the play offs"

I think our general aim this season was to consolidate and try to avoid a relegation battle. I don't think many fans have genuine play off aspirations. Fwiw I'd give him a 3 year extension immediately. First proper manager we've had for decades

  7. Looking at him tonight I think he'd walk into any midfield in a mid table premier league team ie Palace or Wolves. If he went to Spurs or Newcastle maybe we could get him back on loan for a year but he's already too good for our league.  Good luck to the lad. I for one will be proud when he walks out for England alongside Rice. The boy is that good

I'm sure he remembers us creating a proper atmosphere at their library for a full 90 too. My favourite away day ever, 8000 in unison all game.

Half time up there was mental

I think we can safely say Scotty won't be our player next season, a superb first half.

Any ideas what's been said on the tele?

Praising him big style. They've heard about him and he didn't disappoint. Quality

Found this on a Spurs site. Can't comment on anything as I wasn't allowed to go to either game as it was school night.

The 1st leg in Bristol was the first big occasion I saw as a 9 year-old. Midweek under floodlights with cigarette smoke swirling around in the air. I used to stand in the enclosure, right down the front and it was magical. We didn't even get on tv as itv showed highlights of both legs of the other semi because Man Ure were playing

  11. I was in the RAF at Machrihanish. A tiny little station near the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland.  I listened to the radio commentary after travelling over 600 miles for the 1st leg at Ashton Gate. I ran up and down the corridors in my accommodation block after we won and drank heartily in the NAAFI after the game. So sad I missed bring there
