Like it or not, this team appears to be playing for him. Whether it's something that the previous management have instilled in the team remains to be seen but it's a good habit. Coyr!

Is this the night they got shut into the East End and hammered on the way out?

"Data doesn’t give you points or change league positions, but what it does tell you is the direction you’re heading in and if you continue to create chances, and minimise the opposition, then you’ll win games."
Assuming this is a correct quote from Manning as it’s on the Bristol Live page. What waffle! Back to the days of measuring grass it would seem. Its nearly enough to make you want to tap out at this point.
Delete 'data'.
Insert 'quality players'.
Kinda makes sense then.

Up there with one of my favourite away games ever. Beautiful hot, sunny day. My uncle drove us to Reading and we caught the train into London.
Arsenal were in transition and Supermac had a mare. Happy days

The brutal truth is Steve has lost interest, and handed the reigns to his idiot son.
Jon has then handed the keys to the kingdom to Brian, a failure as as a manager, but a legend as a player, which is why JL probably loves him.
They have an ideology of what the perfect football manager looks like, and have gone all in on someone they think can replicate the the job the geezer at Ipswich has done.
In my opinion we’ve dropped a massive bollock. Slow and steady under Nige would win the race, but JL has gone all in with 7,2 here.

I think that any new coach/manager would experience a significant negative reaction given how popular NP had become. We'd turned a corner. We'd reduced the wage bill and we were still in a position where we could challenge for the play offs. What was the logical reasoning behind sacking the manager? It had to be personal. Nige was old school. Lansdown wanted 'forward thinking'. It wasn't about top 6 or playing styles. Nige didn't kiss ass.
Tinnion sold his soul and spoke up for the owners. Fans no longer trust him.
Manning appears to be LJ2. Fans don't want this.
Until the Lansdowns admit failure and sell the fans will never believe again.

We don't have to accept anything.
I don't accept that Manning is a better manager than Pearson.
I don’t accept that we have a better chance of promotion under an untried, inexperienced lower division manager than under a manager who has got a team promoted to the Premier league.
I don't accept that players will buy into Mannings style of play.
I don't accept that the Lansdowns know how to run a football club.
I don't and WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OF THIS UNTIL STEVE LANSDOWN SELLS OUR CLUB

Same for me, I was lucky to see City in Division 1 and for the couple of seasons beforehand. I now live thousands of miles away from Bristol so only get to watch on Robins TV and have the same sinking feeling that I will never see City in the top flight again, bloody depressing how fast life and football seasons pass you by
This. First game in 66. Season ticket holder for years until Lee Johnson. Done my time. I might have come back next season for a Pearson/investment push but that's not going to happen now. Johnsons out

I agree with the sentiments of your post but not the bit about Pearson being the best manager we’ve ever had. Although he was good we’ve also had some other good ones over the years. Terry Cooper worked wonders with a mix of non league and cast off players. Before him Alan Dicks got the club into the Division 1. The big difference with Dicks is the board stuck with him (sometimes only just) and he was given time.
Whilst I totally accept what you say Dicks had the benefit of a top class coach in Sillett who worked with the squad day to day while Dicks was more of a manager in the "old school' definition of the word. Totally agree with Cooper who took us from rock bottom though.

God forbid a Football Manager being his own Man and having his own views. Probably told BT that some of the academy players are nowhere near good enough or ready.
We've lost the best manager we've ever had. Should have been given a new contract and money to spend in January. The squad were overachieving but they played for him. Just ask a Leicester City fan why they won the Premier League.
A ******* travesty

The delusion from the club to sack him and for the fans who supported that decision deserve everything they get.
This. Absolutely. Nothing else.
We had a football man managing our team. A man who'd been there, done it, bought the t-shirt and had the squad 100% behind him. He'd got the fans on side despite some bad times and had us punching above our weight whilst reducing the wage bill
...........but that wasn't enough for a clown of an owner who hasn't a clue how to run a football club and his cosseted child.
Fuqing Lansdowns out!!

Do yourselves a favour. Have a fiver on us going down because there's more chance of that than top six. Utter bollox from the owners to replace Nige when they did. They don't deserve anything less than failure

My grandad travelled up for this match but was unable to get in. Allegedy climbed a wall and could see part of the pitch so watched the game from the wall. Just wish he'd got me a programme.

To be known as Bernard Manning from now on?

Frank will be announced in a press conference tomorrow. We will become Frank Lampard's Bristol City. Steve L will be gurning like a simpleton. Frank will describe us as 'sleeping giants' and a Premier League club in waiting.
Frank will be paraded on the pitch before Saturday's game with the family Lansdown sitting in the stand basking in their new found notoriety. Jon will get a new set of crayons.
