  1. Massengo and Scott are so energetic and nimble they're picking up so many second balls and so much lose play in the middle.
  2. I'm confident we're not going down this season, so if this is a sign of things to come I'll take the odd misfire and loss here and there on the way. Great performance so far, I'm loving it.
  3. Great turn by Semenyo, but it was Massengo who was about the furthest forward in the center of the box! Lovely
  4. It's weird because the Sky highlights (https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/championship/12522591/bristol-city-3-2-cardiff) only include one piece of play that wasn't a goal, and that's the one you're talking about!
  5. Maybe people should suggest them on the forum first? Thoughts?
  6. Given it specifically says Championship it's probably talking about the Championship. Even if some random bloke 90 years ago played 30 more games than him who cares? It's still a great achievement. That doesn't make it useless, groundless, or irrelevant? Weird comment.
  7. I agree. To me the "on the bus" comment was about attitude, not ability - so players like Moore who aren't good enough, Dasilva who may have been the wrong type of player or recovering from injury as you said, Atkinson who's form has dipped (and already perhaps played more than expected). They were never not "on the bus", and they're not constantly getting on and off it... I think it was referring to Palmer / Bakinson and co. It wasn't as simple as just not picked = not on the bus.
  8. I usually walk back that way from the Lansdown, but decided to walk home round the South Stand instead to avoid the guerning idiots at the park.
  9. He's a quality player imo, and technically excellent with his close control and the ball at his feet. I wonder if it's taken him a little longer to adapt to Pearson's approach? Easy to forget he's only 23 as well as he's had a few seasons of Championship football - younger than Pring, Vyner, and Cundy I think. Experienced... but also not at the same time. I reckon he was the youngest of the back 5 when on the pitch today for example. Really pleased to see him back, and hope he can kick on now. It was great to see Pearson really publicly bigging up how well he was doing today, he lept out the technical area to pat Jay on the back as he ran past at one point which was great. Helps show how much bollocks some people talk about his player management.
  10. Yeah, sure, just like how you said his "hand grenades" had stopped working and it was just like the end of GJs rein halfway through the Milwall match earlier in the month, right before Weimann got his hattrick and we won 3 - 2. If we lose to Cardiff he wont get fired. I think there's a big difference between what Pearson said and toxic positivity. I'm sure, as a very experienced player and manager, he has a lot of experience with all kinds of mindsets - I don't suppose Williams and Baker have been feeling particularly positive lately. Have they been called out or ditched? So I disagree that toxic positivity can be used in context with his speech. The reasons he laid out are clear, and it's obviously not "I demand everyone be 100% positive at all times, not matter the circumstances, or else". If you can't understand that I don't really know what to say!
  11. You're seriously reaching at this point. Take a step back.
  12. I agree - Predicting academy players won't make it and acting like that makes you some clever judge of talent is the most brainless thing to do, because guess what... realistically most academy players won't make it with us. If you just blindly say no to them all, you'll get 70%+ right. The skill is obviously in spotting the ones who will, and the people who can do that consistently are highly sought after. That's also what that poster totally failed to do. If anything his post highlights his lack of knowledge, and the fact he's then holding it up as something impressive ironically makes it even more obvious!
  13. I agree that we shouldn't get beaten like that in the league... But that's not what you said. You said only the worst teams have, and that's what I was responding to as it was a load of bollocks!
  14. You mean like Blackburn, who lost 0 - 7 to Fulham AT HOME this year and are currently 3rd? Those kind of worst teams in the league? QPR (4th) who lost 4 - 1 to them? Huddersfield (7th) who lost 5 - 1?
  15. One swallow doesn't make a summer regarding his finishing, but even without the goals today his general impact on the team has made him well worth his place. Hope he kicks on and has gained some confidence from today. Two fantastic goals... That second in particular, wow. Picked the ball up in our half, out muscled defenders, out ran them, finished from the edge of the box off the inside of the post. Brilliant!
  16. Objectively it's disappointing of course, but weirdly as I expected us to lose the fact I'm feeling so pleased for (and impressed by) Semenyo still I don't feel too down about it.
